Guest Reviews
- Sarah (8/5): Great coastal vibe and unbeatable location - We loved our April stay at The Cray Pot. It's a charming, rustic spot that perfectly captures the Lancelin vibe. Even with the cooler April weather, the house was very comfortable, warm during the day and nice and cool at night. The location was excellent. We barely touched the car, walking to the cafe, skatepark, and playground every day. Great communication from the property management! As many have noted, the accommodation is definitely "rustic," and having the only bathroom downstairs is a bit of a friction point-but we knew that going in, so it didn't dampen our stay.
- Peggy (1/5): We didnt stay, left the day we arrived. - Premises were not cleaned after previous occupation, such as all surfaces and benchtops.
The house is marketed for 8 guests, the cutlery and glasses provided were not enough for us five guests (no knifes at all)
The fridge and freezer were unhygienic and unusable.
The bins were not emptied and were placed so close to the premises that the smell entered the house.
Left over food in outside fire pit potentially attracts pests such as rats.
Provided fan not operational in living area upstairs.
Upstairs TV not usable, no remote.
All blinds in all rooms broken or partly missing.
Windows and carpets not cleaned not vacuumed and floors not mopped and sticky.
Furniture very worn.
Beds not made and sheets not removed from previous occupants.
Pieces of rubbish left outside and outside furniture not cleaned.
Booking services not customer friendly, delayed and misleading.
Downstairs fridge switched on not cooling.
Online description unclear and misleading, e.g.upstairs bedrooms not accessible from inside ground floor.
- Ollie (8/5): -
- Sandy (1/5): House from hell, beware. - Nothing This was the worst accomodation and completely ruined our holiday. The house smelt all of the drains were clogged so the shower overflowed so we were standing in a puddle of water while out of the shower and it flowed out to the carpet.
We were able to fill the kitchen sink with water without even using a plug that’s how bad it was.
The kitchen has NOTHING, no plates, no cutlery, nothing to clean with.
You can access the bathroom without going outside and downstairs (which at night is dangerous because the stairs are not safe).
The were crumbs all over floor, the couch is 100years old and stained.
The blinds are broken and there is no washing machine.
Awful!!!!
- Shea (4/5): - Good location, tree swing for the kids When we got there there was dead cockroaches all over the place,
The blinds in the bedroom didn’t fit the entire window and one room only had sheers made it very hard to sleep.
The toasters didn’t work, both of them and one flicked the RCD on the power board.
The cupboard door was broken in the kitchen and the fly screen screws fell out we had to fix it.
All in all I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone or come back. Simply because it was inconvenient
House needs some love.
- Rodney (7/5): Good -
- Danielle (3/5): Poor - Location was great, big garden for dog Majority of it!
run down place, looks nothing like the pictures most of them are for upstairs we were only given downstairs
It's obviously a place where the owners dump all their mismatched furniture and has no love into it or personal touches
No air conditioning so gets very hot and the tap sounds like a truck engine starting
It's very overpriced for what you get and what's not in notes is $250 pet bond which is ironic as nothing in the property is worth $250 a and you have to bring your own sheets or towels
Needs a price reduction or a refurb
- Westbrook (8/5): Was overall a nice experience. - Clean and comfortable Didn’t realise from the advert that the bathroom wasn’t accessible from both stories which was a little inconvenient at night. Some heating would make it more comfortable.
- Damon (9/5): Superb -
- Helen (8/5): We really enjoyed it. It was clean and such a good position - Fantastic location
Large backyard with outdoor dining The downstairs sofa incredibly uncomfortable
Tv aerial connection shocking
Fence not secure and needs fixing
The external stairs
- Lorena (8/5): Very good -
- Melissa (10/5): Exceptional - Loved the house and yard. Was great for my kids and little doggy. Close to everything in town. Had all pots, pans, cups, bowls, plates etc. That we needed which was awesome. Was very comfortable and had a great home feel to it. It was perfect for our stay where we could have adventures and go to the beach and fishing every day, then come back to make dinner, have a warm shower and sleep in a comfy bed. The only thing that made it a little harder for the kids was the bedrooms and kitchen up stairs but the bathroom and toilet downstairs and the access to the stairs was outside the house. It was still manageable though.
- Julie (4/5): Great location. Needs to be a lot cheaper for what you get, very much just a shack! - Location was fantastic, close to the shops and walking distance to the pub. Great backyard with loads of space. They failed to tell you that there is no access to the toilets from upstairs. You have to go out of the house to get downstairs. So in the middle of the night I had to go outside trek down steep steps half asleep, unlock the downstairs area and then it was dangerous as I had to lock my kids in downstairs after which is a fire hazard. They need to supply two sets of keys!! The BBQ was in a state and my husband had to clean it before use. Everything was second hand, you could deck it out from Kmart at least with some decent utensils. Just not worth the money. I get it was a long weekend but I had expected better than that for the price.
- Ben (7/5): Good - Huge shaded yard No airconditioning, house configuration was odd with the only toilet down stairs through external staircase. The deck structurally looked a little concerning.
- Alex (7/5): Good - a neighbour came up to the house and complained about noise complaints as we were unpacking, she was borderline psychotic. maybe have a word with the locals. Also in hot weather with no air conditioning made it uncomfortable at times
- Leah (5/5): Passable - The location was perfect. And great size yard for dogs. Only having one bathroom which is downstairs. Not ideal
- Shane (7/5): Good - Close to the beach. Relaxed stay Got a bit hot in the afternoon
- Bindi (10/5): Exceptional - Very clean and spacious Leah was excellent help and very friendly making our stay memorable, thanks Leah you legend
- Aaron (5/5): Passable -
- Emma (9/5): It’s a cute, quirky house but was so much fun and hope to book it again at some point - Amazing location, had bbq and fire pit, great view of sunset from upstairs, very cute house with character Stove/oven was tricky to turn on, not much toilet paper
