• Sonya (9/5): This is a charming house with lots of character and my retreat guests all had positive comments. - I booked Siera Sol for a womens retreat for 10 days and it was a great space. The kitchen/dining area was spacious with a table large enough to seat us all. We appreciated the outside seating space for barbecues and evening meals and the range of kitchen utensil and cutlery etc was the best that I have found in a rental property and very important for accommodating the amount of guests. The rest of the house space was generous with different seating areas and a large lounge for relaxation. The location of the house is good, but could not sleep all of the party. Some of the participants were housed in Rosebank, a short car ride away and this worked well. Unfortunately the weather turned wet and windy the day we arrived and we were not able to use the pool for swimming for much of the time, although it did look very inviting. There is a lovely back garden, well lit at night and security is good with a live in caretaker Steve and housekeeper Happy who were both great, the housekeeping was excellent. The owner was always available and responsive to my queries and questions both prior to and during the retreat. I am looking forward to returning next year with a new group. There was a problem with the electricity being turned off for a short period of time, but the generators to back-up electrical items was sufficient and didn't detract from the enjoyment of the venue.
• Botha (6/5): Was nice and peaceful other than the above. - Place needs to be updated. The bed in the downstairs room needs to be replaced. Every time you move on it, it makes a noise and is uncomfortable. The hairdryers could not be used as there was no plugs anywhere near a mirror. The gas stove needs to be replaced (very old) The deck needs maintenance - the steps to the garden are dangerous. We could not access the washer and dryer in the basement on Saturday because the access was locked.
