- Kiwa (8/5): - The building is old and charming with its own history. The area was nice and pleasant to have woken up with birds chirping in the morning. The room was very spacious and quiet. Very limited time slots for breakfast. Could be cleaner since the building is so nice.

À l’extérieur en arrière il y avait beaucoup de choses qui trainaient. Des déchets, des choses cassées. Les chaises sur la galerie étaient salles ou brisées. À l’intérieur le rdc est vraiment beau. La chambre (Mary tibbits) était meublé de manière très ordinaire. Tout est vraiment défraîchi. Je serais gênée d’offrir un hébergement meublé comme ça. Le divan était défoncé. Il y avait 2 vieilles lampes et un plafonnier à l’éclairage très froid. Le lit était correct mais les oreillers (3) vraiment défraîchies. La salle de bain n’avait pas de douche. Seulement un bain avec douche téléphone. Le déjeuner était vraiment basic. Ça valait même pas 10$. Bacon tellement frit qu’il s’égrenait. Nous avons quitté après 2 nuits sur 3. On aurait pas passé une nuit de plus à cet endroit.

Only there were no cards on my second night and no one around. Next morning I had to ring the host to request breakfast as again no one was around. Rather than be apologetic she was angry with me. She contacted her son who was very helpful. Not a big deal, but the attitude of the host is not something you should have to deal with when on holiday

- Geoffrey (8/5): worth it for a taste of being in one of the fine old Victorian homes of Fredericton. - The bed was comfortable and the room was very quiet. It is a great place if you want solitude. The dining room has lovely natural light in the morning. And of course, the place has a sense of history, with fine paintings and furnishings. The staff were helpful and unobtrusive. Breakfast was fine, though having to place an order the night before rather than in the morning, and designating a time to eat means you cannot be flexible. There should be a kettle or hot water available all the time so one can make a cup of tea. My room was fine, evidently recently updated but the stairway could be refinished. It has that old house musty smell.
- John (3/5): Lots of potential here, but it needs a host who knows and cares about what they are doing. We do not recommend. - Great location,close enough to downtown and easy access to highways. Restaurant close by. Good free parking at the rear. Interesting old Victorian home. We really wanted to like this place but…the unshovelled and ice covered entryway was indicative of the poor attention to detail. Our young male host was greatly lacking in hospitality skills and seemed generally disinterested ( when you could find him). The overall cleanliness was subpar.e.g.The bath mats obviously aren’t cleaned often and the well worn white towels look grey. We peaked into the kitchen and it was a mess. The water pipes in our froze overnight and we realized there is no number to contact anyone after hours! Breakfast was late,cold and below the quality we usually associate with B&Bs.( the “margarine” on the toast was not even melted).

Il nous a proposé de ranger nos vélos en sécurité à la cave! Le déjeuner était simple, bon. Le petit coin où on peut se servir de lait, crème et sirop d'érable est super. Il y avait même du lait d'avoine barista! Plus de fruits serait bien. Une option de crêpe sans produit laitier serait vraiment bien, de même que pain sans gluten.

- Shannon (4/5): Sadly will not return - The location was great and we enjoy historic homes with old stories so that was exciting for us. Happy to have a mini split in our room, TV was great, bed was comfortable. Staff greeted us and was welcoming and kind. The exterior needs some tending to. There was a lot of cardboard/garbage strewn about in the driveway. Attention to detail was poor. There was a dead potted plant on the stand in our room, pile of dirt on the floor upon entering our room. The bathroom-disappointing. We booked specifically for the jacuzzi tub. Not only was it complicated to run because buttons were worn out and there was no written instructions anywhere, the jets had not been flushed out so there was debris throughout the tub when we ran it. Also, the sink tap was literally unattached to the counter and the shower curtain needed replaced and there was a used brush under the sink with the hairdryer.

Quiet and clean The host did not seem to enjoy interacting with guests. Told us the bare essentials needed for check in and that was it. We were asked to state a time for breakfast, but when we arrived at the dining room, had to wait a half an hour before breakfast came. There were no greetings or explanation. Not the B&B experience we were used to. Suggestion: Soft music for the dining room would create a more welcoming ambiance. It felt cold and uncomfortable.

- Johanna (4/5): - Breakfast was mediocre. Yogurt and fruit portions were minimal. Expectations of a B&B experience in a stately home were very disappointing. The room and bathroom were clean and tidy, however the property did not even have a well lit entry for night time access and the street number was not lit up to identify the address when arriving after night fall. The ambiance upon entry lacks the warmth and charm of a Victorian era grand home. Upon arrival dirty breakfast dishes were left on a dining table accompanied by an unsealed jar of jam. Breakfast selections for the following morning are to be indicated on a pad left by the front entry. Contact with staff is minimal.

Breakfast was ok but for a b and b should be more plentiful ( 1/2 strip bacon served with the eggs and just 1 pc toast!) and more complete but I think ownership is new and a few kinksxare beingbironed out. - Marie (3/5): We do not recommend you stay here - The location was great, next to the river walking path. The shower was good. Free parking in the yard. The host couple were not friendly or welcoming. Did not talk with anyone, only left scribbled notes for guests. The grounds were not looked after. The whole house looked neglected and dirty. The breakfasts were a tdesaster. Asked for what you wanted and at what time but when you arrived at that time, breakfast did not. We had to go and find the host and remind him that we were waiting (1/2 hour) The food was not as requested, cooked hours before serving and just dumped in front of us. All supplies were of the cheapest quality, if available at all (shampoo etc). One of the beds was very oldl and very soft. The unfortunate part is that the home could be so much more if just cared for and hosted by someone who wanted to be doing what they were doing. A lot of potential but certainly wouldn't recommend you go there now.

The man who opened the door didn’t smile once and acted as if we were bothering him. There were very few amenities and only one toilet paper roll that was almost gone.

- Diane (7/5): Charmante auberge - Lit très confortable, propreté des lieux. Petit déjeuner inclus et quelques choix. Ancienne maison qui a besoin de beaucoup d’entretien.L’interieur est bien mais a besoin de rafraichissement un peu. L’extérieur est à continuer à mettre beaucoup d’amour. En espérant que les propriétaires pourront continuer à entretenir ce bijou de maison !
- Graham (9/5): Comfortable and clean - Clean, very comfortable beds and great hosts. Hosts made a great Chinese evening meal. Generous portions and great quality! Would have been nice to have in room tea and coffee. There was tea and coffee available in the lobby but in room is always nicer first thing in the morning.
- Wyn (6/5): - Nice location, lovely period property. Bedroom and ensuite bathroom were spacious. Property could have done with better advertising signage, it wasn't immediately apparent that we were at the right place on arrival. Breakfast wasn't great - coffee was cool/cold from a flask, the milk for coffee, tea and/or cereal was only made available in small jugs - had to ask for more every time, had to also ask for bowls for cereal every morning, they weren't available unless requested.. Hot breakfast was pre cooked based on your order the previous evening.and was pretty basic in terms of ingredients Improvements in breakfast quality and presentation would go a long way to improving the overall experience.

- Michel (8/5): Nous avons passé un très beau séjour dans la région. - Très bien comme B and B. Les propriétaires sont accueillants, la chambre était parfaite, rapport qualité/prix excellent. Bien situé géographiquement, restos et commerces à proximité. Le Déjeuner est bien, sans plus.

- Frank (7/5): Good value for one night - Beautiful property in a great location. Room was large and comfortable. Opportunity to include dinner, so no need to go back out Bathroom wasn’t as clean as we’d expected (stained face cloth. Stained and smelly shower curtain). Breakfast was disappointing (white toast even though we’d asked for whole wheat, no fruit and jam from a package. Not our typical B&B experience). Hosts are friendly but very formal

- Sandra (3/5): Strange stay - Downstairs of house was pretty Bed was rock hard. Breakfast was very dry omelet one piece of bacon and toast. When checked in lady could not speak any English. Back of house used as “spa”.

- Sophie (7/5): - The place was absolutely charming the room spacious, quiet and clean. Even tho I had booked for 3 guess, we were required to pay an extra 35$ for a burned egg, cold toasts with barely any butter on them and 9 blueberries, one of which was rotten. Maybe they were running low on groceries and didn’t have their regular cook in but if that is not the case, I suggest they lower the price or make the breakfast worth the extra expense.
