Guest Reviews
- Rosaura (10/5): I’ll definitely book it again when I come back to HK! - The apartment has been renovated, it is clean and comfortable. I had the perfect space to work and keep my suitcase. I liked that it is in a very convenient area and although it was my first time in HK, the fact of the location made my journey really easy. It is not about the place, but more about us, as users of the service, and the fact that we are tenants from different countries, I would emphasize on the trash disposal. I tried to do it every night, but if for some reason I had forgotten it, the other roommates didn’t care. Maybe, signing the rules after reading them could strengthen this. (I had the impression, that just because we had cleaning personnel, they were not suppose to do chores, but it is our home, not a 5-star hotel).
- Desbois (3/5): Complicated - Service, not clean, to small, bad equipment
- Ickler (8/5): Very good -
- Kirillova (1/5): Bad - Location Everything.
Bed is smaller than my high (181 cm)
Dirty. Even my allergy came out because of the dirt.
Also very cold. I asked for extra blanket or hitter but they don't have it.
Because of the allergy for the dust or mold in room i booked another place immediately
- Erik (5/5): Feeling betrayed! - -location
-bed, room size Actually quite nice shared flat with comparable prize if the owner would take more attention on details, like cleaning the fridge, laundry and providing a light with a plug for Hongkong...not USA
B U T!
I was extremely upset they gave me a room wich I hadn't booked. I booked the "deluxe room with seaview" in Lockhard Road 414. Instead I got a room with view to apartment blocks in Lockhard Road 384-388. They said they made a mistake, because 414 is for female only. Very strange, as I can see reviews from guys for that room here.
384-388 isn't mentioned here, nor that the 414 is female only. So for me it's a case customer catching and though after complaining I got at least on night for free, I still feel betrayed. It was done on purpose because of some shadow business.
- Catherine (1/5): Bad - Nothing Castomer care
- Darie (8/5): Very good -
- Kei (4/5): Inexpensive, but worse than staying at a hostel - 1) Excellent location.
2) I booked my room when it was on sale (in addition to the discounted monthly rate). It’s a good bargain for HK.
3) The bed is not bad, but it’s actually a large single bed rather than a double bed as stated in the property description. 1) Lack of cleanliness — the weekly housekeeping by the host is extremely insufficient. The common area (a narrow corridor) is dirty all the time. During my stay, I tried to sweep/mop it every day, but some inconsiderate guests walked around with dirty & wet shoes (despite the house rule that no “outside” shoes should be worn indoor). The bathroom and kitchen stink and are constantly wet, almost “steamy”, most likely because the drains are old and do not work well. Even the toilet seat isn’t attached properly and is sometimes laced with you know what...
2) Small spaces — I’m a native HKer who’s fairly tolerant of “crammed” spaces but this flat is pushing it. There are six rooms, five of which are crammed on one side of the flat, with every door slam, laughter, or just footsteps reverberating in the rooms, which makes it hard for guests to sleep. The smell of food also seeps through the doors cuz the rooms are so close. There’s one room near the front of the flat (which I stayed in). The door lock is half broken and has to be slammed hard, which gets very noisy for the guest (me, in this case). Whichever room you stay in, you won’t rest well unless you’re an exceptionally easy sleeper.
3) Deceptive description & photo — I booked an economy double room, and it turns out there are two of those in the flat, one of them being more or less 60 sq ft (as stated), the other one way smaller. The one shown in the photo is the bigger one. The one I got is the small one. If there are actually two listings for these rooms, and if the bigger one is offered at a slightly higher price, I would have booked that one instead of staying in the smaller room I was misled into booking. It’s shady, if not dishonest, practice by the host. And it’s the worst thing about this booking.
All in all, if you are on a budget, it might be more comfortable if you get to stay at one of the well-maintained hostels (that keep their properties very clean) instead.
- Andrei (6/5): Pleasant - Location, nice view from the window, clean space The bed is small and doesn't suit for 6 foot height man, feet don't fit on the bed, so be careful and ask in advance about sizes. It was 10 degrees in the night but no chance to close ventilation hole, in fact you are sleeping in the room with a street temperature. The walls in the room are a little bit tired. And don't forget a sleep mask, cause in the night you will see the light from the ventilation hole on a corridor side.
- Mandy (1/5): Not good liveing in small room. - Location is Good. The room is very very smaller. Not good for me 😔.
- Jacob (5/5): You get what you pay for. - The location is pretty good. I thought the area was close to amenities like convenience stores, restaurants, the Victoria Harbor Promenade, public transportation, markets, gyms, etc. The staff was nice. My check-in wasn't smooth, but I can't blame the staff because I struggled to find wi-fi and make a response on WhatsApp. For me, the location was by far the best thing. · The shower head had very low water pressure, and there was an awful smell in either the bathroom or kitchen (or both). Being a moderately tall person for Asia at 5 feet 11 inches (approx. 180 cm), I could not comfortably use the bed. My head or feet had to touch the bed frame for me to sleep. I had to upgrade my room to get a similar-sized bed, but at twice the cost of the room I had. Not cool. A friend and I found out that the 6 room flat was actually a 2 person apartment. It can have an occupancy of more than 6 people. If you can put that into perspective, you'll know what you'll be getting. The security measures were okay, but the door had an annoying beeping sound if it wasn't closed correctly. The water from the faucet is not potable, so get used to buying water bottles from the nearby stores. Despite the efforts of the staff, the place seemed run down and way below the standards in other countries, especially 1st world countries. What I mean is that the pipes would sputter water out, the water heater caused the shower area to "steam", the toilet seat was hardly attached so it moved around in an awkward and uncomfortable fashion, and the hallways and rooms are narrow and small. Being on the 13th floor you'd think it'd be somewhat quiet from the city below, but no, get used to hearing all the usual suspects like cars, motorcycles, large vehicles, utility / service vehicles, etc. The elevator isn't too bad of a problem, but it's slow. Picking up people on several floors can get annoying.
- Tianming (1/5): Bad - one of female tenant in the apartment is awful, emotional, disgusting, ridiculous. The worst travel experience I have ever had. Pay more attention if you want to come Hong Kong.
- Riya (6/5): Average shared room in Hong Kong - Great location and fairly easy to find the building. Great price for the city and the host was very communicative and helpful. Other guests weren't respectful of the quiet hours and took phone calls/played things very loudly at 1-4am and with the walls not being very sound proof, it was easy to hear everything. Beds were slightly smaller in width than an average single bed and a lot shorter in length. As a 5ft 7 woman, I didn't fit into the bed and had to continually bend my legs which was highly uncomfortable.
- Keaton (9/5): Probably the best place you can get in that price range! - Excellent location, excellent price! The privacy of a private room with the price of a hostel. Unit itself is clean and relatively modern, well maintained. Has numerous convenience stores and restaurants nearby. Other guests were friendly and considerate. The building this place is in is perfectly safe (guard and passcode) but is a little on the older side.
- Lau (9/5): Superb - the temperature of the air conditioner was very comfortable. the lamp light on the desk is barely light enough to light the under-bed area.
- Matthias (10/5): Exceptional -
- Victor (7/5): Good - It’s clean, and central It’s small, but it’s HK so that’s normal, but it’s quite frustrating when you expect a double bed and you end up with a large single bed. Really too small for 2 guys
- Paulo (6/5): Pleasant - Good location The host asked about us before confirm the booking, it felt like she was vetting us. The room is really small, if you have two bags all room will be full. Also the host ask to take the kitchen rubbish out every night, which seems a bit too much.
- Louise (7/5): Good -
- Nian (5/5): Fair. - The location is great! Close to every tourist's needs. No air-con in room. Only fans.
- Jamie (10/5): Exceptional -
