Guest Reviews
- Garry (10/5): Relaxing - Beautiful setting
- Helen (8/5): Lovely, quiet, comfortable location. - Comfortable, comfy beds, plenty of space. Wood heater was good but it took a long time to heat up the space. Reversible ceiling fans could have helped improve this if they were installed, given the exceptionally high raked ceiling.
- LOIS (10/5): Excellent accommodation at Halls Gap - This cottage was the perfect spot for our getaway. Spacious and clean. The spa was very much appreciated and the wood fire kept us cosy.
- Stephen Ibbotson (10/5): Wonderful - will return one day - Loved it all especially the wood fire and the facilities in the kitchen. We had just been in Robe with terrible kitchen facilities so this was amazing. Even had a baking dish for a roast! Only thing would be a carport for the rainy weather but that wasn't a big issue
- Chris (9/5): - Very peaceful
- Michelle (8/5): Loved the location and enjoyed our stay - Quiet location Terrible wifi connection. No dishwasher.
- Hanspeter (10/5): - Ruhige Lage, nahe beim Brambuk Cultural Center. Alles vorhanden, was man braucht. Regenwetter und nahe Baustelle (aber dafür kann der Gastgeber nichts).

- Kathy1972 (10/5): STOP, you won’t get any better accomodation… - A beautiful cottage in the midst of tall trees, Australian bush and local native wildlife. There was other holiday homes near by, but the local greenery kept them out of sight out of mind. My partner and I just adored this place. With all the comforts of home and more. Wifi was a bonus. Nothing….loved everything.
- Mandy-scott (9/5): - Lots games and books and good streaming on TV. Nice secluded location. Host was awesome. Beds comfy. Good stoked kitchen. Would be happy to stay again. Drive way bit awkward we had 2 cars. Blinds in bedrooms dont fully keep light out. Heater and air con unit dated but still functions well. Found wood fire didn't do job.

- Martin (10/5): -
- Pauline (7/5): - Location close to town. Quiet and leafy surround with resident kookaburra and kangaroos making an appearance. Accommodation spacious and comfortable.Shower pressure good and water hot. Shared bathroom between two bedrooms. Wi Fi is temperamental but just need to be patient which is explained in the quest information book.
- Simone (10/5): What a wonderful place that provided everything we needed to to relax, enjoy wildlife and walk. - It felt like we were nestled in the countryside however we were still close to town There was a slippery section on the bathroom floor that we couldn’t avoid.
- Julie (9/5): Clean, cosy, country cabin. - Impossibly clean with a cosy well cared for country feel. We loved seeing the wildlife from the balcony and abundant fire wood to keep us cosy. Lots of books, games, we love Halls Gap and recommend the Kingfisher Lodge! Wifi is a bit weak given it's location
- Angela (8/5): Beautiful place to stay - Location was amazing, plenty of wildlife, saw an echidna as soon as we drove in and kangaroos everyday. Secluded but close to main part of town. Hot water ran out very quickly, could not get four of us on the same night having a shower
- Michael (7/5): -
- Archibald John (9/5): Third time staying there. - Third time staying there so we must like it. Comfortable and most facilities good. Fireplace excellent as is quiet location. The high lights in the living and kitchen area are angled to be blinding -- angel away from seating positions please. Only one wine glass? WiFi not functioning at first until I realised "someone" had entered the WRONG password???!!
- Kratis (7/5): -
- Magdel (9/5): Blissfully relaxing, comfortable and warm. - The fireplace and ample supply of wood. Snuggling up on the couch with my partner in front of a roaring fire and a good drink in hand. best "date night" in a long time. The bath is a bit small. But that is a minor issue. The shower is great with good water pressure and temperature. The candle in the bathroom and night light is a very nice touch.
- Diane (7/5): Love a break discovering halls gap!! - It was available, had a combustion heater and a bath.
Wood supply for wood heater.
Hot water hot! When we got there the combustion heater door was open and there was the remains of the previous fire in the heater. We wondered if we'd interupted the cleaning, it was a bit weird, we were only 15 min early.
No matches, no firelighters etc to start fire.
wifi really really bad
.Cottage quite open to with other cottages not far away so not private.
Orientation of couches not conducive to enjoying the combustion heater. We actually moved them so we could enjoy the fire, then placed them how they were we we got there.
- Nicola (10/5): Loved it and would definitely stay again - The log fire was amazing and was kindly lit for our arrival. Location was great. The kitchen was exceptionally stocked and well thought out we did not need for anything. Cannot think of anything
- hui (10/5): - The fireplace and spa bath were the highlights Wifi could work better
- Max (9/5): How’s the serenity - Peaceful and tranquil location. Lots of wildlife. Just beautiful. Wifi was a bit sluggish, but was ok using hotspot on our phone
- Di (8/5): Very good - Clean spacious and comfortable.
Lovely to have a fire burning No WiFi available during our visit.
- Archibald (9/5): Second time to stay there - This was our second stay at Kingfisher Lodge 111. By returning we show our appreciation of a comfortable and enjoyable stay. We particularly like the quiet and convenient location and the excellent fireplace.
- Stuart (10/5): Exceptional -
- Bernadette (8/5): Great unit very lovely, - That the spa didn’t work very disappointed
- Susan (9/5): Superb - View
- Christine (10/5): Very enjoyable - Booking.com didn’t send the code for the lock box
- Darlene (9/5): Great getaway - Such a cute cottage.
Comfortable beds.
Perfect place for a mum and daughter getaway. My only complaint was that the air conditioner could do with an upgrade to a newer model.
Took a while to cool down the room, especially on a very hot day.
- Peter (8/5): Very good - Good size rooms, very clean, well equipped kitchen. The wifi was a bit slow.
- Susan (10/5): Wonderful getaway in the Grampians - It was lovely being surrounded by trees and the area was quiet. The host was very responsive.
- Dean (8/5): Comfortable and spacious, would recommend. - Spacious rooms with good kitchen facilities.
- Carolyn (8/5): Beautiful secluded location for a relaxing stay - Very clean and spacious The fire didn’t work well as it kept going out. We tried a few times following instructions given.
- Kirsten (10/5): Exceptional - A wonderful facility. Well set up and so peaceful
- Trevor (10/5): We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Halls Gap. - No breakfast supplied, we took our own breakfast.
- Amarjeet (10/5): Very comfortable - Clean and tidy and great location
- David (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (8/5): lovely cottage cosy warm and close to nature. - Lovely cozy stay. Learning how to turn tv down.
- Chamath (9/5): Superb -
- Ward (9/5): Superb -
- Archibald (9/5): Excellent lodge and stay. Comfortable. Well appointed. Great location - The slow combustion fire was a real attraction for us and once we learned how to best use it we loved it. The lodge was well appointed and the spa much appreciated by my wife. The TV with Netflix was an unexpected bonus. The kitchen well equiped. Very comfortable and clean. Location excellent. There were few fire-lighters and we quickly depleted them. Asked for more and owner very helpful. As the instructions mentioned the WiFi was a bit spotty but not a big issue. The reverse cycle AC supplemented the fire but had trouble heating the bedrooms. To be fair the temperature outside was 2Deg C.
- Jodie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Penny (8/5): We had a lovely anniversary weekend. - The general cleanliness (toilet brush was awful), electric blankets and linen quality. Thank you. The property was very good indeed. Thank you. The advertising about Kingfisher and Kingfisher III in the Booking.com site was confusing. When we arrived we didn’t care it wasn’t two story, but the bottle of wine, no views of the Grampians and no dishwasher were initial disappointments. No problem at all. It would be worth making it quite clear there are two Kingfisher properties and they are quite different in facilities and cost (i assume). Thank you.
- Anna (6/5): Pleasant - The fire place was lovely. The Netflix good Barking dogs, no wildlife
The mank crap that came from the spa
- Pamela (8/5): a good base to work from - peaceful and quiet - Bought our own Breakfast Lounge seating not good for crook backs - too low to get out of and not high enough to support neck and shoulders
- Alexander (8/5): Very good -
- Julie (9/5): Lovely retreat from the hustle and bustle of Melbourne. - The size, position and the cleanliness. No dishwasher
- David (10/5): Thank you for having us - Beautiful cottage, beautiful spot, clean and had everything we needed Loved all of it
- Karen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kevin (10/5): Wonderful - The peace and tranquility The rough road into the property, fine for 4 wheel drives but hard for sedans
- Nick (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sheena (10/5): Excellent - Kingfisher 111 is an immaculately maintained cottage with everything you might need. We like to eat in, and the hosts have equipped this kitchen perfectly for self catering. It is set among the bush a bit out of town so it is nice and quiet and lots of wildlife around in the morning and evening. A great stay!
- Jane (9/5): We had a lovely time in the holiday home. Very surprised to find last minute accommodation. Very likely to return next t - Love this place a lot. Ample space for our family of four. Beds were comfortable. Nice stove and oven, kitchen fully equipped. The wifi and our phones coverage were very slow, not the fault of the property. Time to upgrade the infrastructure Telstra & Optus.
- Steven (8/5): Very good - Location and great big open kitchen lounge area
- Ben (9/5): Superb -
- Jessica (10/5): A lovely and peaceful stay filled with an abundance of natural beauty. - It was super easy. That I couldn’t spend more time here. It was a lovely property and I would have loved to spend a few more days there.
- Julie (8/5): Very good -
- Wai (8/5): Very good -
- Andrew (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anonymous (10/5): Would have no hesitation in recommending - Everything Nothing
- Caitlyn (10/5): Lovely to relax in the beautiful serenity of Halls Gap. Thank you for providing a great place to stay. - Beautiful place, clean and tidy.
Board games were lots of fun! Heater was lovely and cosy.
- Pamela (9/5): Comfortable cottage in bush seating near town - The house was large and comfortably furnished. The TV had Netflix. There were two large comfortable sofas, a separate dining area and a seating area on the porch. The large bathroom had a spa and washing machine. The bed had an electric blanket. Heating the living room was via a wood fire or a wall mounted electric heater. We loved the bush setting. It was a pleasant walk of around 1.8 km to the town, along a bike/walking path parallel to the road. The internet and wifi was unstable in the early evening on Saturday, better on Sunday. It was probably due to peak usage, with many visitors in town on Saturday night for weekend events.
The toilet is right next to the main bed, with a sliding door between them.
- Jo (9/5): Superb -
- John (10/5): Loved the Kingfisher Lodge 111 and would happily stay there again. - Very well equipped. Had everything we needed and more.
