Guest Reviews
- Paul (8/5): Great location in the heart of old town - Great Location in the heart of old town. Lovely hosts, access to kitchen with fridge and dining facilities, with balcony. The roof leaked. It needs to be resealed.
- Claudia (10/5): Superb location with everything that you need. We had a room with a balcony that was great to watch people going by and - The location and staff. Evrething was as expected!
- Frederik (9/5): Superb - Very cozy! and the staff is soo kind. I can only recommend! It’s definitely more charming than a standard hotel room, and reasonably priced. Don’t expect a five star hotel standard, but enjoy the facilities such as your own kitchen, fridge and a nice comfy bed.
- Amber (10/5): We really enjoyed - We loved it here! So cosy and felt like home. Was such a good location. Bed comfy.
- Johanna (5/5): Passable - The location is great and due to pedestrian walking street on weekends, the streets nearby were not very noisy. The room is good value for money and the owner was nice. The one real big issue is the elevator and non-usable staircase though. One other guest got stuck in the broken elevator and we had to help him out. The staircase is extremely (!) narrow (we’re two very slim persons and barely fit through, no chance with any luggage bigger than a small backpack) and was blocked by a ton of construction and cleaning materials. In case of a fire alarm or broken elevator, we’d be worried about guests to get down fast and safely from the 5th floor.
- Simon (10/5): Really lovely little apartment. - The location and view from the room was great. Could have done with a curtain around the shower so the floor doesn't get wet.
- Sophie (10/5): Most amazing stay in the center of old quarter! - The room was beautiful, comfy and extremely cute! We slept like babies and loved every minute. The location is exceptional right in the center of old quarter and above a cafe and lots of other shops and restaurants!
- Suzanne (4/5): Disappointing - Could not find premises as you had to walk through a small shop front to get to it. There were no signs. In fact I think we would still be wondering the streets if the owner had not walked up to us. The room was clean - had no windows. Bathroom had a few bricks missing up high to ventilate. Thought it was a lot of money paid for very little you get.
- Brian (10/5): Exceptional - Host was really nice, had to do a room switch but it was to a better room in an apartment next door. Great location in Old Hanoi.
- Robert (10/5): Super cute, cozy, and wonderful stay. - Loved the place. Hidden inside of a cafe and very cozy and sweet spot. Very cute room and nice balcony. Loved it and would stay again if I came back ! Hot water runs out after about 5 minutes so had to take quick showers. Started to get cold is when I knew it was time to finish. Same at another hotel in Vietnam so maybe normal here I’m not sure
- Charlie (7/5): Good - Great location really friendly staff
- Gerald (8/5): Great experience, great value for money - Location was perfect very near the lake and other attractions. Nothing
- Samson (10/5): Exceptional - The room is cute, clean and cozy with a nice balcony view. The host is very friendly and accommodating. She’s the best. Lastly, the price is worth the stay as it’s quite affordable. Highly recommended for someone who is on a budget tour.
- Martynas (9/5): Cozy, very good location, nice staff - I do not know from staff who was talking to me by what's up, but was very helpfull and very polite and friendly.
I loved big bed and bed sheets was clean and has wonderful smell. There was a little ants crawling around, but it wasn't a lot so no worries.
- Artur (10/5): Exceptional -
- Latifa (7/5): Overall, it’s a great option for a short stay, and the host’s warmth and hospitality really enhanced - The homestay is perfectly located in the Old Quarter, close to all amenities, making it very convenient for exploring Hanoi.
The host was incredibly kind, welcoming, and very responsive. She went above and beyond to help us, quickly addressing any issues we had, like the lack of hot water on the first day, which was resolved immediately.
The rooms are cozy and charming, perfect for a short stay.
During the colder nights, we noticed the rooms were not heated, but when we requested extra blankets, the host kindly provided them promptly, which we really appreciated. The rooms are located on the sixth floor, and the elevator only goes up to the fifth. There’s a small staircase to climb to reach the rooms, which can be a bit challenging if you have heavy luggage.
The area can be noisy at night, with sounds from the elevator, nearby construction, and the general bustle of the city. However, this is quite normal for Hanoi, which is always lively and vibrant.
The bathroom and toilet are nicely designed but might not be the most convenient for longer stays. The drainage system isn’t very modern, which could be problematic over time.
- Mario (9/5): Superb -
- Erkan (9/5): Great location - Location was perfect. Landlord and landlady were very helpful at every subject. Every morning at 07:30 there was an announcement from the municipality from the speaker near to the hotel. For that reason we had to wake-up at 07:30.
- Adolphi (8/5): Very good -
- Myo (6/5): Cozy room with great location - The location was great near by the lake and old quarter. Easy access even self check in and check out. No complain. (You got what you paid for)
- Edwardus (9/5): Superb - Location is very good, everything is in walkable distance, staff is nice, helpful, and quick at responding Room can be cleaner, water kettle not clean, there is eaten choco bar, and used toothpaste
- Kk (10/5): Great host - Great location where closes to everywhere. Cafe, food stalls and restaurants downstairs. What's making here lovely is the host couple are very supportive and helpful. They looked after me during the typhoon Yagi. They kept updating me the typhoon situation and provided extra caring to a foreign traveller which made me feeling so warm and touched.
Beyond excellent
- Victoria (8/5): Very good - The view from the room was wonderful, and the location was unbeatable—right in the heart of everything.
The room had all the essentials we needed.
The owner was incredibly kind and attentive, answering all our questions and showing us where to park the bike (since parking near the Homestay isn't allowed at night). The room was fairly clean, though you could see some dust here and there. However, the location and the room itself made it worth it.
- Landi (1/5): Bad - None Pretty dusty and poor security equipment. I know how noisy staying in central street, but the room was old and dirty, not historically.
- Jamie (7/5): Good - Great location
The pho place next door is soooo Good!!
Good WiFi and great aircon
It has a Kettle which is great !!
Had a balcony area which good
Easy communication with owner
Self checkin via lockbox which is good. A bag of old Food was left in our fridge 😒
Cups were dirty 😔
** I did really like it and good Size room etc and huge cool bathroom - just feel needed a final clean check before having us check in
Would still recommend this place though
- T. (8/5): Good if you don't mind filth - Decoration looks nice, cozy little room. Smart TV, you can browse Youtube etc. Hot and cold water at all times, toiletries are provided. The ceramic fat bird on the shelf deserves an honorable mention as it brought us immense joy every time it caught our attention. Awesome location, a few steps away from anything you could want in the Old Quarter. Couch and coffee table were nice to lounge, grab a bite and watch something on the TV. Things look old in a pleasant way, it gives the room a distinct character. Soundproofing is OK considering it is on a very busy street. One of the dirties places we ever stayed in. Before checking in, it was evident that the room wasn't cleaned at all (previous guest's leftovers in the room and fridge, muddy footprints in the bathroom etc). I showed the staff and asked to clean, and all she did was spraying some water on half of the bathroom and calling it a day with still evident mold and footprints on the floor. I seriously doubt they changed sheets because it looked like nobody checked the room after the previous guest. AC doesn't cool down the room, and it looks and sounds like it hasn't been maintained or cleaned for a decade. Bathroom has no door, just a filthy curtain and no proper ventilation. Bathroom floor also has many spots of mold. Bathroom curtain is covered in mold halfway, again looks like it has never been cleaned in this lifetime. Balcony was so dirty we didn't want to step there even with our shoes on. Also the wifi network they asked us to connect to simply didn't exist.
- Max (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jeff (8/5): Very good -
- Bjorn (10/5): Amazing hidden gem! - What a hidden gem this is, I booked it randomly but turned out to be the best value and most awesome stay ever. Beautifull rooms and amazing owner. I came back 2 weeks later to stay again, and got stuck on my balcony (my own failt lol). Had to clime down over some other roofs and call the owner. Even though we had to break a small window to come back to the room the owner still thought it was hilarious and we had a goud laugh together. Please stay here!
- Pandya (1/5): Bad -
