Guest Reviews
- Brooke (10/5): The Barn was absolutely stunning! Loved it so much 😃 - Location, THE VIEW quiet and comfortable Downstairs bathroom to living/bedroom area
- Goodwill (7/5): For us the accomodation was too small especially given its price point - The outdoor area was well landscaped and had bbq, wood fires, wood, and table and chairs & sun lounges. - excellent views and very quiet and private. The property was much smaller than we expected. - downstairs the kitchen and bathroom were together in a small space. Fortunately we could eat outside as the weather was excellent.

- Nikolina (8/5): -
- Euan (7/5): - The view. Eating upstairs.
- Alexandra (10/5): Clean, comfortable and beautifully styled accommodation in a quiet area with great views. - Quiet, private and beautifully decorated. Great location just out of St Helens in a quiet area on top of a hill with wonderful views over the bay. Close enough to town to go to shops and cafes, and is easy to get to some beautiful spots in The Bay of Fires. Nothing
- Anna (9/5): Fabulous views - Sensational views on hillside with resident wallabies. Living situated upstairs to capture views. Tastefully decorated, comfortable bed and lounge seats. Some instructions, induction hotplate, gate exit fob and code varied from instruction book or were not clear. Property needed signage from the main road and internal track to direct you to the property. The kitchen and bathroom are downstairs, table and chairs are upstairs so not suitable for those with mobility issues.
- Suzie Leyden (8/5): Beautiful location, small but perfect for a couple travelling through. Very comfortable. - Fabulous location, beautiful view. Comfortable. Lovely decor. Although small, was enough for the two of us Induction hot plate hard to use as there were limited instructions, had to watch youtube videos to work out how to use it as had never used induction before. Better instructions are needed.
- Robin (8/5): - Very difficult to find. No signage and a keep out sign instead.
- William (7/5): Great stay - Nice location and liked the fire pit Toilet downstairs. No gate remote left, not enough towels
- Makin (9/5): Relaxing, peaceful and quiet with fantastic views and wildlife, everything we were hoping for. - The location is fantastic, very beautiful and quiet. we wanted to be away from the Hussle and Bussle and we got exactly that. The wildlife was beautiful and abundant. The outside area is great, and we enjoyed that even though it was Spring not summer, the area is protected.
Everything we needed was there. For what we needed, everything was there.
- Jan (8/5): Views over the Bay - Stunning location in a modern building with spectacular views. Tastefully furnished inside and great firepit and BBQ outside.
Close to St Helens and an easy drive to The Bay of Fires. Good cooking facilities. A very cozy feel inside the house/villa and great views from upstairs bedroom/lounge dining. Wonderful landscaping. We would not recommend this for those over 70 as there are 16 steps from the kitchen and bathroom downstairs to the upstairs living. There is no table or seating in the downstairs kitchen which is a problem in rainy weather. The upstairs dining table is very unstable. We were fortunately able to cook dinner outside on the firepit but there is no outdoor shelter apart from an umbrella over the table.
It was a little tricky to locate the property once we had turned off the main road as signs are misleading.
- Bentley (9/5): Secluded, peaceful hilltop retreat - Well designed quality apartment on a quiet hilltop with great views.

- R and E White (9/5): Quiet, relaxing, so lovely - The location was perfect. Close to the shopping area but still felt like we were alone. Loved the apartment, its big picture window to look out at the beautiful view. Loved the firepit. Easy directions to get in on arrival. The recliner chairs were amazing. We spent a lot of time just sitting looking out the window. Perfect place for a couple who needed rest and relaxation. The extra pillows were a bonus. The kitchen was well stocked with appliances and other necessities. The shower was really lovely and the heater in the bathroom was excellent as we were there in winter We loved the Barn, but because we stayed 5 nights we found a couple things were lacking. The cooktop and oven didn't work. We spent a lot of time trying to get them on but couldn't. Also would have been nice to have another set of towels for a 5 night stay. I would also suggest an empty table in the bathroom as there was nowhere to put things. These are just little things we noticed as we were there for a while. Otherwise this place is perfect!
- Meredith (4/5): Disappointed with what we got and ended up leaving two days earlier to go to another rental. - The views Very small and photos and property really didn't make this clear..so for the money did not think it was of good value compared to other houses etc we stayed in. Also the kitchen was downstairs and the table was up stairs and very unstable it was ok but again I don't think this was explained with advertised property description. Also driveway is not good for front wheel drive lots of spinning etc to get going. Also instructions on hot plate are incorrect with current situation so a bit of a hassle to get it started etc. Apart from these issues very nice views but will not be staying again.
- Vivienne (10/5): Exceptional -
- Russell (9/5): Superb -
- Scott (9/5): Tranquil and convenient - Loved the location, close enough to the main town for convenience yet you feel so secluded. Very comfortable and great facilities. Not an issue for us, but the stairs may be off putting. Would have loved a couple of board games.
- Tina (10/5): Exceptional - Absolutely stunning views, peaceful and very relaxing, views from the loft were breathtaking.
- Loryn (10/5): We had a beautiful stay in St Helen’s (aside from the misty/fog) - Beautiful location, well thought out. Well equipped in terms of firewood, BBQ, kitchen. Beautiful bathroom, comfortable bed. Nothing!
- Greg (10/5): Top property in a scenic, secluded location. - The Barn location gave wide views of the town and bay.Far enough away to be a peaceful venue, but close enough to be convenient.A bench mark for the tourist accommodation.Excellent!! It’s easy to find faults if you feel that way.We didn’t!
- Jem (10/5): A delightful stay - The location was excellent, with gorgeous views. A well insulated building that was cosy while outside was cold. Really lovely furnishings- comfortable & beautiful. No washing machine.
- Kerri (9/5): Fabulous place, great views! - The view is fantastic. Was a warm, cosy space to base ourselves from for 4 nights during our winter Tassie holiday. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Nowhere to sit downstairs, I suppose outside in summer, but for a winter visit, it's up & down the stairs constantly.
- Kerri (10/5): Exceptional - Loved the accommodation. Amazing views! A great place to relax!
- Claire (9/5): An affordable, comfortable stay in a great spot - So close to town and The Bay of Fires, many places to dine out and a supermarket within a few mins drive. The bed was comfortable, the rain shower is lovely. We liked the skylights too. Hubby enjoyed cooking over the fire. Nice and clean. Excellent customer service. It didn't bother us as we used the fire, but there is no microwave. Need more towel hooks in the bathroom and somewhere to place a toilet bag and clothes. The door lock is a bit awkward and annoying, otherwise all good 😊
Note that the bedroom and dining rooms are upstairs, the kitchen and bathroom are downstairs.
- Friedman (10/5): Excellent! - Secluded and picturesque. Panoramic views Driveway is steep and could be dangerous in wet weather.
- Dani (9/5): Superb -
- Judith (9/5): Emily was excellent and sorted any problems promptly. Location very good. - No breakfast provided.. No small vegetable knife. Stove needs instructions as we don't have that sort.
- Anonymous (8/5): Nice easy relaxed place to stay. - Layout, nice upstairs area A little hard to find. Went to the wrong house initially!
- Bernie (8/5): Overall a good experience. Possibly but a. Good site for any over 70 - No breakfast provided.
Overall a good facility
Just needs a couple of small additions - being fussy here - but add BBQ tools and a coffee milk froth machine !!!
Well set up with absolutely everything else you’d need. As above
