Guest Reviews
- ss2193 (9/5): - The drive to the property itself felt like a secret mission but when we arrived we were met by a very cute and charming studio, which made the stay feel homely and secluded. Large windows overlooked the yard and surrounding mountains, creating a beautiful view. If you're lucky, you'll catch some wildlife on the property - we saw cute wallabies, a deer, a fox, and plenty of native birds. Heard the kookaburra one morning too.
It had also been a long time since we’d stayed somewhere with a real wood-fired heater instead of standard electric heating, so that felt super nice to slow down, rewind, and unwind. Really loved the herb garden too and used some of the thyme and rosemary in our cooking. Matthew also provides local and organic food, which was a very thoughtful touch and added to the overall experience.
Ideal place for a relaxing couple’s retreat rather than a family-style stay, especially if you’re looking for peace, privacy, and time to switch off. The only real downside was the number of flies. We think there was a hidden army somewhere secretly deploying troops. To Matthew's credit, when we mentioned it, he took it seriously and was sincere in helping where he could.
- Jenny (10/5): Super comfy accommodation in a tranquil setting. - What a beautiful, tranquil place this is to detox from busy city life. From the fabulously comfy bed and pillows to luxurious bath, watching a movie on the big screen in front of a cosy fire drinking the delicious hot chocolate, coffee or chamomile tea provided (and amazing home produced honey) We loved watching the resident wallaby hopping about on the lawn! We wished we could have stayed here for a lot longer and really hope to return someday.
- Kay (10/5): Perfect place for vacation if you prefer the quiet - Super-nice place, off the grid, in the forest. Very good for relaxing and visiting the area along the Great Ocean Road.
The host was great! Even WiFi was pretty decent, which is not guaranteed in this part of the world.

From the decor to the comfortable beds, the bath, the whole layout and of course, the spectacular views. We even spotted an echidna and a wallaby. Do not hesitate in booking this place, you will not regret it!
