- Morag (10/5): A proper Venetian experience, difficult to find these days! - Quiet private location away from the crowds, you need all your navigational skills to not get lost on your way to and from the apartment, perhaps a small pocket compass would be handy! Lots of Venetian character inside and with many windows looking over hidden courtyards and small, gently used canals. Refreshingly free of a TV and electric hob/oven. Super warm both day and night. Hard to find places like this now. Venice must be a nightmare to keep rubbish free at the best of times but then how do you cope when you add on thousands and thousands of visitors? Since we last visited some years ago it seems that a very organised and effective rubbish and recycling system has been put in place. However we would have appreciated much clearer instructions on how to use it, eg: where exactly to leave the bags was a little muddled. Also some advice on making sure you take it into account and use it from day one of your stay so that you can use it correctly and avoid being left with the wrong bags on your departure day.
- Daniel Le Mire (10/5): Amazing - Absolutely amazing unique experience, authentic for sure
- Jibran (9/5): - We stayed in Venice for 2 days unfortunately so hard to balance the comments. Venice is overall nice. We visited from Auckland so one can imagine the difference of city especially when it come to city of sails. Nevertheless the property is good but if you have suit cases it's slightly far from the main terminal. Facilities are good and groceries close by. Hot water for shower is good. Nothing major. Venice is a old.town so houses are overall old.
- Judit (10/5): Idilli, romantikus, csendes, hangulatos. - Központi helyen volt, az apartman 2 oldalról is Riora nézett. Minden tiszta volt, hangulatos, tágas és kényelmes, jól felszerelt konyhával. Nagyon kedvesek és segítőkészek voltak a szállásadók.
- Shahid (10/5): - The location and the ambience.
- ANGELIKI (10/5): An apartment made and decorated with love . - I liked everything. The apartment was excellent, nicely decorated, spacious and fully equipped with anything we needed. The location ideal for us as it is close to many attractions. Valentina was very kind and helpful with every problem we faced, a very efficient hostess. nothing that I didn t like
- Sue (9/5): Lovely apartment with great character right on and overlooking the canal. - Location was excellent for the station and everywhere we wanted to see. Would have been nice if half a dozen of the bathroom tiles hadn't fallen off the wall one day but I guess all those places are very damp. It also took us a while to suss out the gate locking and opening systems.
- corinne (9/5): An authentic quiet apartment centrally located and thougthfully presented. - An amazing central location meaning that everything is within walking distance. It is quiet and the apartment has a view over one of the small street canals. It felt extremely authentic and despite its central location was really quiet- loved hearing the gondola's shout out as they came round the corner.
The hosts were really proactive and sent through the city passes when needed. The bathroom door needed planing down when we were there as it would not shut- but it wasn't a big issue.

- Shannara (9/5): Real Venice vibe - Great location. Beautiful, homely accommodation with a real Venice vibe. You can watch the gondolas go by underneath the window. Very quirky decor, would recommend! The host can’t do anything about this due to the structure of the building - but be aware if you are very tall, the hallway to the bedrooms is quite low so you may hit your head.
- Polemeni (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sally (9/5): Superb - Location was perfect. Had everything we needed. Was a tad expensive for what was got. 2 single bed were uncomfortable as the mattresses kept coming apart.
- Marlborough1704 (8/5): A lovely apartment in an historic building - The historically beautiful apartment rapped around a colourful internal courtyard. This property was full of charm and quirks. So the absence of TV, toaster and even an oven can be forgiven, certainly for short stays. It is about 7-10 minutes walk from Rialto, very quiet and surrounded by canals on 3 sides. There are several internal steps to negotiate and watch your head inside! Shower was a little small. No Toaster nor oven
- Sanjaym1484 (10/5): Great location, not for tall people. - Fabulous location, within walking distance of everything and everywhere in Venice. Not quite 5 mins from Rialto bright, more like 15 mins walk, but a lovely place. Host was easily to contact via phone and place was clean and described as per listing. Not great for tall people. I constantly hit my head on the stairs between bedrooms and kitchen due to very low ceiling. I am 5'11, so touching the ceiling when standing. The beams level with my forehead with standing up. Best for someone 5'8 and under. Also, due to the low ceilings bathroom and showers in both bathrooms were low so had to bend knees to shower everyday... Not comfortable but made it work. Host should list on the future about the low ceilings.
- Snacky (9/5): Super convenient location with amazing decor and friendly hosts :) - Incredible place in the heart of the city! Was very easy to find, and the hosts were very easy to contact. Arrived and it was already nice and warm after an early flight.
Would have loved a foot rest in the living room to relax a bit after walking a lot all day! Ceiling is fairly low in some places so be careful not to bump your head!
- Jackson (2/5): We stayed away from the property as much as possible. - A certain charm to the age of building Poor directions to the property and poor or inaccurate instructions for gaining access. Couch was broken down, jagged glass on the picture frame over the couch, outlets hanging out of the wall, ants all over the bathrooms, uncomfortable chairs and bed, and a strong unnatural odor (not sewer) about the house.
- Andrew (9/5): Superb -
- Ia (10/5): Exceptional - Very attentive and kind host Valentina, was answering all my questions almost immediately , giving very precise instructions how to get inside the apartment, allowed us to leave the luggage a bit earlier on the day of our arrival. The apartment is not completely flat. There are a few steps in front of the bathroom and bedrooms. But it gave us an incredible feeling of having " Mini Rialto " at home.
- Clifford (9/5): Charming originality - Wonderfully quaint, very much like venice.
Loved the old originality and charm
Amazing heating and very spacious
Loved the location, easy enough to get to with suitcases etc.
The gondola going past the kitchen window
All the amenities we needed Beware the original beams and ceiling is very low in the bathrooms and passage. I found it added to the charm but there was the occasional head bang.
- Selma (9/5): Superb -

- Karen (10/5): We enjoyed our stay, was nice to be beside the water and watch gondalas go by. - Location was good The short hallway ceiling. We kept hitting our head.
- Steven (8/5): Small items were problematic but otherwise a great stay. - Good central location, quiet and peaceful.
An excellent Venice look and feel to the building. Low ceilings in both bathrooms.
Shower head attachments non existent.
Towels not drying, some sockets not working and are old type fittings.
A toaster would have been handy.
- Ramya (3/5): It was one of the worst place to stay. - Old charm and the location next to canal The place is falling apart. It was a circus to get the keys from the lock box. We relied on washing machine and it was not working. Basically the place is old and appliances are old. The bathrooms don’t work for people who are tall and ceilings are very low.
- Matilda (7/5): Charming pied-à-terre by the canals - Great location in a slightly less busy corner of Venice, only a few steps away from all major attractions. The apartment feels very authentic, perched on top of a smaller canal. It was truly charming, with antique furniture and historical details. We loved watching the boats go by. We had a great time exploring Venice and this apartment provided us with a nice haven of relaxation. The property could use a little TLC as everything felt a little worn down. The bathrooms were a little damp despite trying to air them out and the beds were quite uncomfortable. The AC only cooled down a corridor and left the bedrooms pretty sweaty in the mid-July heat. Cleanliness could also be improved just a tad.
- Mark (8/5): Very good - This is a very charming apartment along a canal. Gondolas will sometimes pass by with the gondoliers singing. The ceilings in the bathrooms are low along with the hallway and stairs. If you're over 5' 9" tall, watch your head.
- Gerda (9/5): Perfect spot in quiet neighbourhood but close to everything - Lovely old apartment right on the canal. Private and quiet. Was great to have 2 bathrooms when travelling with our teenagers. Great instructions and easy contact with host who gave helpful suggestions for our stay.
- Kevin (7/5): Good - The location was amazing, and you feel you were living as a local. As a dutch, the house was very small. Our smallest friend (1,70m) didn't fit in the doorframe, and we couldn't stand in the bathrooms. The furniture was very old and poorly maintained and also gave a durty feeling to it.
- Gayle (9/5): Superb -
- Min (10/5): Exceptional - My family spent 4 great nights at this amazing place. The property is a real venetian antique apartment where you can find a direct access to the canal in the building lobby. The apartment consists of two parts, living room part and kitchen and bedroom part. These two parts are connected by a bridge over the canal. It says the apartment is 80sqm in the description but felt larger than that. It is located in the calm residential area where you can reach the major tourist attractions within 10 minutes from. Kitchen was fully equipped and the beds were comfortable. Unlike other properties at the similar prices, it had two separate bedrooms and two bathrooms rather than a sofa bed. Some said in the reviews that the property is outdated but we loved it as it is. It has an unconventional charm you can find only in venice.
- Kelly (10/5): Exceptional - Unique, quiet and charming.
- Kim (8/5): Very good -
- Christophe (9/5): Wonderful stay and perfect quiet situation in the middle of the city. - Charming place. An oven might be useful.
- Gapp1 (9/5): Superb - Great location
