• Dasha (1/5): We were planning to stay in this property for 1month, but staying only for 5 nights - The property itself is located in a good spot - condominium is almost in the front of the Barra da Tijuca beach (just across the road), near the lifeguards tower #4. Based on our experience, we won't recommend long-stay in such propery or staying with small kids/pets. Possibly just 1-2 nights/short stays - to spend most of the time enjoying the beach and restaurants along the coast, and return late evening just to watch netflix (internet speed is sufficient in the property). 1. Property represents only the 3rd floor (the last one) of the building. To get into the property, it's necessary to go up the spiral and pretty narrow staircase, which could be difficult in case of carrying small kids or dog (like in our case) - please, be careful. 2. The owner positions the property as "bungalow" style, so be ready for: - the floor is old and there are a lot of wood in the finishing and construction of it. Because of high humidity and state of ACs, it effects on air quality. - oldish furniture (including bed mattress) and kitchen supplies. - poor sealing on windows with holes in the anti-mosquitos nets. - broken air conditioner in the main room with relatively big hole on the wall around it (we asked owner to apply duct tape around it since mosquitos were passing freely, but i'm not sure for how long it will stay there) - the surrounding nature is beautiful. So be ready for some "wild" guests like mosquitos and ants. In case you have a pet with you, don't leave the plate with pet's meal on the floor since ants will find it quickly. Or as recommended by the property owner - keep the plate with food inside of the bigger plate with water (like a fortress). 3. In a few days, property's owner might ask you for some favors to help dealing with condominium management (favors up to signing actual rental contract with inaccurate property details in addition to the reservation made on booking.com). Decision is up to new guests, but for us whole situation with such favors looked suspicious and we decided to leave the property. Since property booking rules were stated such that reservation is non-refundable, we were not able to claim the refund for the unused days of reservation with booking.com team. So please, carefully get familiarized with both - reservation rules of property as well as policies of booking.com.
