Just what we expected - Close walk to where we wanted or needed to go Disgusted with the attitude of the relationship between Booking.com and the actual hotel The hotel staff told me to drop the keycards to the desk when checking out "in the morning", only to be told "in the morning", hands in the air, when leaving, with a taxi at the front door, an airline timetable to meet, that we don't accept keycards on behalf of the booking company. I was told that I needed to go back into the dingy room, remember the code (which I had deleted from my phone). Finally, in disgust, I through the card on the floor and left, very very disappointed. Luckily, on the way to the airport, and searching my recent calls files, I found an odd number. After ringing it, it was the person who initially spoke to me about locating the keycard on arrival. He was angry, I was angry. Finally, he told me that he was going to the hotel to get the keycard and sort it out. I assume all was ok. Overall, not an experience that I would go through again, that is easily solved by not using Booking.com again. A big thumbs down experience after using Booking.com for many years.

• Henry (9/5): Great balcony with inland sea views - Balcony was great, close to many restaurants. Both Bedroom and lounge had air conditioning and TV Full kitchen and fridge.

Check in was easy even for very late arrival. Ali, the host was very responsive and allowed a late check out of up to two hours for free.

I have stayed on multiple occasions and would recommend to anyone visiting Darwin, or locals in need of temporary accommodation. Very reasonably priced for the standard of apartment. Plenty of car spaces available if needed.

Quiet, well-appointed, comfortable apartment. Extremely helpful host (Ali) who was very patient and accommodating with anything we contacted him for during our stay. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Darwin. Maybe a small bar of real soap in the bathroom/shower as an alternative to shower gel?!

Our only ‘issue’ was that the shower does not have a door and the water pools at the open end of the shower and does spill out into the bathroom so make sure you put down the shower mat to soak up the water that spills out
