Guest Reviews
- Kurniawan (1/5): Bad - The phone number listed on the booking.com application cannot be contacted, in chat it does not reply.
I contacted one day earlier via the phone number on the page but the number could not be contacted, when I arrived I contacted again could not be connected.
I have been waiting from 2 pm to 4 pm with my wife and 3 small children, no one can be contacted around the property, finally I looked for another hotel ... at night around 7 pm someone claiming to be the property owner called to confirm attendance using another number that is not listed on the booking.com page.
Please ensure the authenticity of the property ... !!!
- Simon (9/5): Superb - Very big room with a balcony in the Old City, close to everything !!
- Thuy (8/5): Very good -
- Thiem (7/5): Good -
- Nazmi (1/5): Horrible experience, can’t be trusted. Stay away! - First of all, don’t trust this property. After I booked this, I received a message on WhatsApp saying there is an issue with the water pipes so they would provide me an alternate accommodation in a different property run by them. It was on the day of my stay and if I cancelled I would lose money, or to involve booking.com and finding another accommodation when I was with my elderly parents was to much of a hassle so I said yes to their offer. The new place was on the 4th floor with no elevator and my elderly parents had to climb all those floors to get there. My original booking was for an entire apartment and what they gave us was a room which had many of the facilities missing, including tv. Also, the room had AC and there was no remote. I asked for the remote and they said they said it was missing and didn’t provide me any remote. The bathroom door wouldn’t close, the toilet lid was moving and wouldn’t stay upright. The wifi wouldn’t work. The password they gave me didn’t work and when I called them to fix these problems, they wouldn’t answer my call or call me back. Early in the morning the next day, my dad while trying to close the washroom forcefully (since it won’t close) had the washroom door getting locked and we were unable to use the washroom. When raised this with them, they asked him to use another washroom in their the property which was 4 floors down and farther from where we stayed. Overall I had a terrible experience. Even when they said they had the property not available because of water pipe issue, I saw that the property was as still listed. Worst experience, poor communication and total waste of money. Stay away.
- Praveen (5/5): Good location and cheap stay - but not for family with kids. - Big room. Airy. Good balcony view (4th level, no lift)
Comfy beds.
Working fridge and AC. No TV.
Drinking water provided. No chairs, tables or sofa. All luggage had to be opened on the floor.
No hangers in the wardrobe.
- Sara (7/5): It was fine - Good location and quite spacious It wasn’t too clean
- Hoang (7/5): Good -
- Anwar (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sascha (10/5): Exceptional - everything!
- Sam (9/5): Peaceful, roomy apartment right in the heart of the Old Quarter. - Attractive, airy room in the heart of Hanoi’s Old Quarter with two comfy double beds, a spacious private bathroom, and various extra amenities (TV, full-size fridge, kitchen worktop, plates and cutlery, etc.)
Host is an extremely friendly woman who lives basically on-site — very helpful and responsive to questions. Would definitely stay again. Patchy WIFI — recommend getting a Vietnamese SIM like I did and hotspotting if using a laptop.
- Josh (7/5): Good -
- Monti (10/5): Charming and Authentic Old Quarter ♥️ - If you want a little more space, this charming apartment has a bedroom, private covered/roofed courtyard with washing machine and area for hanging clothes. There is an equipped kitchen with fridge, private bathroom. The two double beds are comfortable. Air condition works well. We stayed in April and didn’t need the air conditioning on overnight. There is a fan, that was enough overnight.
Even though it’s set in the main busy part of town, the apartment is set back and walls are well insulated (concrete). You don’t hear any noise from the street. It is very quiet inside. I would suggest bringing your own ear plugs for sleeping though, there are roosters near by.
The place is in an alleyway, so just look for Max Coffee, the entrance is right next door. If you need help, getting into apartment, use booking.com messages. They have another hotel around the corner there. The people there speak English, you can leave your luggage there and rest if you need to. Just Google map Autumn Hanoi House. They can help contact the owner and take you to the apartment.
The location is great, you are right in the middle of the Old Quarter, there’s pharmacies, convenience stores and a multitude of food options just outside your door. Everything is walking distance.
For food and shopping, the place comes alive at night time, around 5-6pm. Right at your doorstep. The shopping is fantastic. You will need to adjust your sleeping pattern if you are an early bird, because everything opens later. Even coffee.
The host is very helpful and accommodating, her apartment is a few steps away. You can knock on her door to buy drinks (water, tea, beer ect). She has a translator on her phone for communication. She will help you with anything you need.
If you want an authentic, enriching , cultural experience living amongst locals, I highly recommend staying. Nothing
- Syed (10/5): Exceptional -
- Zadel (9/5): It was indeed a nice stay, the location is very good and the amount you pay is worth it! - The location is excellent. When you go out from the gate it is along Hang Dao where the night market is…. Nothing…
- Konrad (9/5): Superb - Comfy beds, spacious, giant windows, and in the middle of everything.
The water pressure in the shower might be enough to cut glass, which deserves extra praise :)
- Rayvin (10/5): Beautiful and Cosy place. Able to cook and do laundry. - Location was good and easy access to the Centre. The lights was off after 12midnight in the walkway. It’s shouldn’t be Off for the convenience of the guests.
