Good location; free tram stop outside building 1. Unit smelt like a restaurant kitchen when we moved in!
We had to open the balcony and front doors for almost 2 hrs to air the place while enduring the cold gusty dockland winds!
Obviously the previous guest had cooked in the unit but it wasn't aired or cleaned up properly before we moved in.
This is no excuse as we checked in late at about 7 pm
2. Crockery and cutlery were still wet in the dishwasher. Again , this is no excuse as we only checked in at 7pm. Obviously, the cleaners started cleaning up the place late. A clean dry set of crockery/cutlery should have been in place in the kitchen cabinets ready for our use instead of expecting us to dry those from the washer.
3. Half of the wardrobe in the bedroom was used as storage space for cleaning equipment, depriving us of space to hang our clothing. There is no proper storage cabinet in the unit. Also, communications equipment were mounted in the same wardrobe with exposed wiring - a bad and dangerous practice.
4. The bedroom was very stuffy as the air-con is only installed for the lounge and does not reach the bedroom.
No wonder a stand fan was provided in the bedroom. Luckily, the weather was cold, so it wasn't that bad. Imagine staying here in summer!
5. There was a child high seat and a baby cot ( closed up in the wardrobe) - we did not ask for them - should've been removed.
All in all, pretty disappointed with the poor housekeeping. We have reached out to the host telling him of these and hope he will take notice and make the necessary improvement to an otherwise cosy and well located unit.
