- Jakub (10/5): -
- Elizabeth (7/5): - It was quiet and comfortable The bathroom closest to my room was not available
- Terry (7/5): - Very well priced. Clean and tidy. Very comfortable
- Bruce (8/5): - We had the place to ourselves, we booked 4 rooms very lucky.
An awesome lounge with a huge TV and open fire place.
The rooms are very neat, tidy and clean.
The beds are great, my wife found them a touch firm, but she sleep well.
The water pressure is the best, the showers are unreal.
A short walk to shops etc...perfect. Not much.
- Wendy (8/5): Our room met all our needs for our short stay. We’ll rebook in the future. - Very comfy; recently renovated: central location; personable staff/management. We’d stay there again when next we visit Portland. Another little bedside table on the other side of the bed.
- Ken (7/5): -
- Fiona (8/5): Historical comfortable clean and good value for money - It was very clean and close to the centre of town to where I needed to be I had requested a twin room but got a double. Made it a little awkward with sleeping arrangement, but not too bad.

- bertrand (9/5): Very good - Breakfast wasn't provided. It was comfortable and quiet. Would recommend it to anyone Nothing
- Peter (3/5): Did not sleep well, smells. Won't be back. - They were quick to change my room when I was originally given one that had been used. The place has a horrible smell. Was given a room that had obviously been used & not cleaned yet. Didn't realise it wasnt a pub any more. Thought I would be able to get food there. Very creepy place.

- brulox (8/5): Quiet Comfortable Rooms with Ensuite, Great Location - One more stay after the sale of my dad's house. We enjoyed our stay. Easy check in with Sean via coded entry. Room clean and tidy and quiet. A great place to stay with the comfort of an ensuite in the room. Easy walk to the Coronation Hotel or the newly opened Zig Zag Brewery (highly rated by me also). Will be back one day.
- Cordiner (8/5): -
- Amanda Jane (8/5): Relocated due to no power. - The actual place i booked was the imperial, however i was relocated by the owners to another location as they experiemced power outage. Staff were kind and curtious to ensure i had somwhere to stay.
Nice set up. Quiet location. Accomidation I was relocated to was in another town had No phone or wifi service, tv didnt work. People in the town were very rude to non locals including local police officer who ignored me asking directions in local grocery shop but then decided to follow me as i tried finding my way back over to Portland without gps signal and my teenage son reading a paper map out to me.
- brulox (8/5): Quiet and comfortable in Portland - Nice small room with toilet and ensuite in the hotel. Check in easy and quick, room was ready for when we arrived. Pillows are a bit thin for our liking, but easy to bring our own next time.

- brulox (8/5): - We have stayed previously and once again the room was comfortable for the two of us. Very quiet and air conditioned with a comfortable bed. The ensuite is great compared to the other option in town.
- Steven (3/5): Expensive - would rather stay in Lithgow only 20 min away - Nothing Pretty rundown surrounding and interior.
- brulox (8/5): Imperial Stay - Easy self check-in, no hassles upon entry and getting to the room. Very quiet room, comfortable and clean. Nice hot shower. Great for the price.
- Tim (7/5): - Quite and very good location
- Hartley (8/5): Very comfortable and clean. - Stayed in a room with shower and toilet which I guess had been recently redone. The room and facilities were very clean and modernly designed. A door, curtain or barrier of somekind may have been better in between shower and room
- Dani Mannix (10/5): -
- Thomas (6/5): It was ok but would try another option. Fair few stairs to climb. - warm, cozy smoke alarm goes off repeatedly in the kitchen area if people cook.
- sneddon (7/5): - Private bathroom
Stained glass
Aircon
Mini fridge
Kettle Hot water temperature kept fluctuating going from extreme boiling to freezing

- brulox (8/5): Comfort in Portland - Very quiet, self check-in was easy. Room basic with comfortable bed with ensuite shower and separate toilet. Close to the RSL and pub. This is a really good spot to stay while in Portland as very limited other options. I'll be back as I sort out my dad's estate.

- Sandy (7/5): Clean and tidy room. - Neat and tidy room with a good shower.
Good airconditioning.
Lovely soft towels. Lots of steps to take luggage up to room.
Bed was rather hard.
Communication regarding our check in was poor.
- Amanda (1/5): Not happy at all. Didn’t find out until the day before my trip that I had to find alternative accommodation. The cabin t - Was told Booking.com had overbooked so couldn’t have the en-suite room I’d booked two months ago. So rather than take a standard room with a shared bathroom I opted for a cabin in Wallerawang which they apparently manage. Not happy. Had to drive 15 mins to Portland from Wallerawang to attend a wedding. Had to drive back after to one of a row of cabins on a vacant lot next to the pub there.
- Teresa (8/5): Very good -
- Melanie (8/5): Lovely place to stay, cosy and quite, big room with great TV, can't ask for more! - Room was spacious with an excellent quality TV and Netflix. Bed was very comfortable and sheets/bedding clean. I slept like a baby. The bathroom was very close and kitchen good too. No noise, did not hear a thing. Room was also very warm and it was freezing outside. I will be back. nothing
- Krystiana (7/5): Good -
- Claudia (9/5): Superb - I had a wonderful time visiting Portland and enjoyed discovering the town. I did an art workshop which was amazing.
- Julie-anne (5/5): Not horrible but I wouldn't stay again - Nobody was there when I arrived and I didn't see any staff during my overnight stay. No entry instructions were given. I had to phone the number taped to the door.
- Garrad (8/5): Value for money, comfy, clean and roomy - Great value for money and very clean and comfy room. The facilities were great and the hotel itself was very clean and neat.
- Pamela (9/5): Superb -
- Renee (10/5): Amazing value for money - sleep easy with no fuss - This is the second time we have stayed at the Imperial and both times we have been impressed with the location - right in the middle of town, can’t get much better than that. The facilities- bed was amazing and comfy, air con that kept as warm all night, shower and bathroom were great. And last but not least the host - everything was quick and easy, and painless process If I have to put something here, it would be to have the front door and room code, before standing on the door step 😊

- Dodd (9/5): Superb -
- Ingrid (3/5): Poor -
- Rod (7/5): Comfortable and Clean. - I didn’t have their breakfast, but the day was quite comfortable Having to wait for the codes to get into the door
- Zhenzhong (4/5): Disappointing -
- Ivan (7/5): Renovated rooms, all new and sparkly clean - Our room was as shown and expected, being an old hotel rooms are very small with little space for the necessities. On the plus side absolutely everything was sparkly clean and new, the bed comfortable, good linen, fabulous towels. Tea and coffee making, TV, air con etc as described. The Imperial is unattended so do ensure you get your entry codes before arrival. We didn’t however our host quickly rectified that over the phone. We chose to stay in Portland as our interest was to see the “signs of yesteryear “. We enjoyed seeing them and also the old bottle lime kilns, Lake Wallace and the general area. The bowling club was closed but we received a warm welcome at the RSL and were impressed. Not fancy but good pub style meals and great friendly staff. The area seemed to be safe at night. Here are my thoughts, bear in mind that The Imperial is going through a renewal process that is not yet complete. Any negatives may well be corrected soon. We misunderstood and expected to be in a functioning pub with country warmth and ambience. We entered a cold, dark space with no human in sight and could see that parts of the building were closed up and unused, looking seedy. With hindsight we understand that this is due to renovations and will change. The foyer itself has already had a makeover. Breakfast and the cafe/restaurant are not available at this time. It is overpriced, especially when compared to nearby Bathurst, but we chose The Imperial for small town charm and history.

- Mary (7/5): Good -
- Juan (8/5): Very good -
- Sean (8/5): Very convenient, clean and comfortable. - Surprisingly comfortable bed was very appreciated.
- David (6/5): Adequate. - Comfortable bed. Good location. Plenty hot water in shower. No reception on site, had to phone and go down street for card to room. Noisy and security light on and off during night.
- Ian (8/5): Very good - Great location, walking distance to most things. Very clean. Nice but simple renovation. Great bed, linen and big fluffy towels. Very quiet location. Nothing
- Lauren (8/5): Very good -
- Barry (5/5): Passable -
- Renee (10/5): You pay for what you get - great value for your buck - The location was great, for where we needed to go. Room was small but clean and tidy and had everything we needed. The The check in, was a little confusing. We arrived and no one was around, so we contacted the number left on the paper on the front door, and were sent the details to get into the main door and our room. No breakfast included, and the rooms were quiet noisy, you could hear you neighbors talking, but for the price, it was managable
- Ulla (9/5): Great value, retro hotel. Clean, comfortable and good fun. - The Impi was great value. We made use of the dining room with entertainment, watched a great film on the big screen tv and played a few games of pool. the old hotel has a lot of charm and had all the facilities we could hope for. We wanted something close Katoomba but for the value we stayed here. It took a little under an hour to get to and from Katoomba. But the drive was also quite nice.

- Anthony (8/5): Very good -
- Anne-marie (8/5): Very good -
- Sarah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Richard (10/5): Exceptional -
- Joanna (5/5): Passable - Quiet place There was the wrong pin number ..cold water under the shower and the password for Wi Fi did not work ..lots things to improve
- Digby (9/5): Superb - Exceeding the expectation for a "historic pub n motel" title in a small town never heard of before... Nothing.
Too bad we just didn't have time to try the breakfast...
- Barbara (7/5): We were visiting Capertee Valley and this was nearest available accommodation and we were pleased to find it. Also enjoy - The hotel was ‘self-help’ when we stayed.’, with no staff on site. Phone and other instructions were easy to navigate. It clean and comfortable and useful to have a kitchen available. Very clean with new carpets, freshly paintedbathrooms etc. Good value. It felt strange with no staff on site but we adapted. .
- Mark (8/5): Very good -
- Belinda (9/5): Superb -
- Jason (1/5): Not reccomended due to the hotel‘s approach to bookings - Despite the hotel twice threatening to cancel our family’s booking unless we made a payment in addition to the one made through BookingDotCom, we managed to have a pleasant stay. The large former pub offers basic pub style accomodation with communal bathrooms and a large guest lounge downstairs. Beds were comfortable and the family double room a good size, but our standard double room stank like an ashtray, so bad that our grandkids refused to enter the room. Trust that a hotel will honour a booking made on BookingDotCom is the first essential of any stay. We did manage to have the stay that we had booked and payed for, but we had to endure and ignore the hotel twice seeking additional payment and threatening to cancel our booking (the second time hours after we had already checked in)
- Janelle (9/5): Superb -
- Andrew (8/5): Very good -
- John (8/5): Very good -
- Tanya (8/5): Very good -
- Danielle (1/5): Bad - We didn't stay because we had requested to book the Royal Hotel Capertee through Booking.com and only discovered when we arrived at the Royal Hotel Capertee that Booking.com falsely advertised the location of this hotel, 50km away at Portland. Misleading advertising. Unable to get a reply from Booking.com.
- Psmcg (8/5): Very good - Central location, historical building and good Pricepoint. Close to a great little bowling club for a drink and Thai food No lift but given the building is over a century old that is not a surprise
- Rebecca (8/5): Very good - Pool table
- Michael (8/5): Very good - Great friendly manager and comphy bed and pillows. Really good hot water and clean as a whistle. Make sure to bring milk, they have tea and coffee in the kitchen
- Parna (3/5): Poor - Windows rattling at night due to the wind. No hot water in the shower in the evening
- Catherine (6/5): A little bit too expensive for what it is at the moment, has potential. - Bed was comfortable, room was quite Shower curtain is not fun in a drafty bathroom.
- Katrina (9/5): Superb -
