- Cameron (8/5): Very enjoyable. - Very well presented. Our opinion is that the website doesn't do the house justice. Awesome views of the river. Great backyard. Home cooked bread on arrival with jams. Close to the RSL for a game of pool too. Wonderful host as well. We would go back anytime. We only had time to stay one night.

The cottage has had a lot of time and effort spent on making it comfortable.

- Yasmin (10/5): Amazing place to stay in winter with very welcoming hosts. Absolutely recommend. - The accommodation was absolutely beautiful and central to everything. It was very comfortable. The host was lovely and very welcoming. I would highly recommend this property. We travelled in winter and it was wonderful. There is nothing that I didn't like about this property.
- Fiona (10/5): A 10/10 - an absolute gem of a place! - We left check-out until the last minute as we just wanted to saviour the place! We had an extremely comfortable stay - everything was perfect - from the bread and juice on arrival, the luxuriously soft sheets and bedding, to the multiple areas to relax and enjoy the ambience and take in the view. Such a welcome relief after a disappointing experience at our previous accommodation in Launceston. Everything was perfect.

The work that they have done on their property is outstanding, the minute detail is gorgeous.
If we are over to Devonport again we will definitely be back.

Well detailed home.
Super well presented.

- Lynne (9/5): We all would return next time we are in Devonport. - Warm welcome by host and extremely clean property. There was ample space and freshly made bread and biscuits as a special treat. Just one thing which cannot be expected to be changed but the steep stairs into each bedroom would have to be listed for anyone with mobility concerns.
- Fabienne (10/5): Amazing - the location and breakfast was perfect! everything was perfect
- Brian (9/5): Superb - Great place location etc All the stairs were an issue at our ages
- Rod (9/5): Lovely hostess. Lovely accommodation - Homemade bread was delicious Nothing
- Lance (9/5): We loved it. We loved meeting the hosts. We were honoured to have fresh bread, ANZAC biscuits and fresh plums provided b - Everything g was well thought out. Beautifully renovated and decorated. Lovely front porch, upstairs balcony AND backyard with picnic table outside the kitchen. The stairs were a bit steep, but we managed.
- Norm (10/5): Home away from home 🏡 - Everything you need was included, all different coffees, teas, cereals, plus bread, milk and juice.
Good sized rooms and great views. Nothing all good 👍
- Suzie (10/5): Fabulous cottage, fabulous hosts and you can’t go past freshly baked bread. - This is a little gem and hosts Glen and Yvonne are the keepers of the treasure. It’s their inherent generosity of spirit that shows in every detail of this self catering cottage which pre-empts your every need as a traveller. Add in a fabulous view and the class of the Edwardian cottage and you have a star in the firmament - Fully recommend you see for yourself . Nothing .
- Richards (10/5): Just perfect - great property, lovely host who’s thought of everything - Incredible view. Lovely helpful host. Lots of little thoughtful touches such as fresh milk, hot bread, home made cookies. Beautifully restored. The stay had everything. Nothing!
- William (10/5): Staying in this property was a delightful experience like being in a proper home - This Beautiful fully renovated circa 1888 is grand period residence in a great location whether you are staying in the area or travelling to and from its just perfect for short or long term stays . Beds very clean and extremely comfortable The house has optional bedrooms a fully equipped kitchen outdoor backyard with seating. The host provides warm home made bread and marmalade on arrival plenty of extra things like spreads cereals home made biscuits too, our host had thought everything one would need to make our stay a delightful experience. Highly recommend this property
Kate & William Smith There is nothing not to like
- Christine (10/5): Restored original house with beautiful interior. - Breakfast options were great and the accommodation was lovely. The hosts were very helpful and friendly.
- Tatiana (9/5): Superb - Very nice to stay in your cottage
- Merilyn (8/5): We enjoyed our stay at Devonport. We really appreciated our hosts. - This is a beautiful period property beautifully restored by the owners. They welcomed us with freshly made bread, fresh milk and orange juice, homemade biscuits. The kitchen was lovely to use. It was really nice to be able to hang our washing outside on a line. It was lovely to sit at the table and watch the spirit of Tasmania leave port while we ate our dinner. Glen and Yvonne were helpful with local knowledge. Very generous with their time. This is not a complaint but something to think about when considering staying here, especially for anyone less mobile. As it is a period property it comes with period features which include steep, narrow stairs with short treads. We left our suitcases downstairs. Also as was usual with the age of the property the main bathroom is downstairs so couples would be sharing the one ensuite size bathroom overnight. It overlooks a working wharf which works all night.
- Margaret (9/5): Wonderful hosts - Beautiful house with beautiful views and great access to shops Steep stairs to upper floor but in keeping with the period of the house
- Denise (9/5): Wonderful. - It’s beautiful features. Views. Location. Great hosts.
- Stephen (8/5): Beautiful restored Victorian home full of charm - great views - well appointed - Fresh bread and cereals provided for breakfast.
Lovely views - enjoyed watching the ships. Being older we weren't so keen on the stairs, but appreciated there being a full bathroom upstairs.
- Pia (10/5): Exceptional - Beautifully renovated three storey home from the 1880’s. we really appreciated the supply of breakfast food so we didn’t need to rush out to a shop in the morning
There are restaurants just up the street and a grocery store if needed, walking distance
Highly recommend sitting on the porch with a cup of tea watching the boats leave the harbour
- Simon (10/5): Comfortable and homely - Loved the atmosphere of the place and thanks for the fresh baked bread
- Hutchison (10/5): Amazing we really enjoyed our time at this beautiful house - The Hosts made a beautiful loaf of bread, cereal and milk provided, the house was lovingly restored, modern but still had its old charm, my family absolutely loved staying hear it had everything and more that we needed to have a lovely time away. We were super happy with everything
- Kirsty (10/5): Will be back - Couldn’t have been made more welcome by Yvonne , the house was comfortable and felt like home
Surroundings beautiful , very clean and well catered for , will definitely be staying again Nothing
- Sandra (9/5): Superb - Beautifully restored cottage with attention to detail, lovely furnishings and immaculately clean. Stayed with two couples, very comfortable beds. Lovely touches with freshly baked biscuits, home baked hot bread. Walking distance to foreshore walking track and town centre.
- Jeymi (10/5): Exceptional - Great views! Comfortable beds and great location. Had everything we needed :)
- Bill (9/5): Superb - Hospitality was great and very thoughtful. The cottage is very well-appointed and immaculately clean. There is a lot of space and it is in a very central location.
- Carole (10/5): Amazing property - Absolutely loved this beautifully restored house. The owners were amazing and incredibly helpful. Everything you thought you would need was available. Views were amazing and the beds were so comfortable Nothing except to say, we wish we could have stayed longer.
- David (9/5): Superb -
- Emmanuelle (9/5): Superb - Very confortable and practical house. It’s new but with some old charm
- Emma (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful, neat and tidy house. Has full facilities for a small family stay. Owners were very friendly and showed us around the house and told us how everything works before leaving us to it.
- Marie (5/5): A nicely presented home in a poor location even for Devonport. Choose wisely. - The hostess Yvonne was very informative and warmly received us upon our arrival. The cottage was restored beautifully and much work was clearly done to add extra features. Old wooden floor in the kitchen added to the charm. Rooms were clean and bed was comfortable. Host provided bread and cereal options for breakfast which is a plus. The location is not as good as advertised. Yes, indeed it is walkable distance from the centre but the neighbourhood is untidy and an uneasy feeling and you may not feel safe walking the streets at night.
It is infront of the harbour which means constant industrial sound of the ships or dock work that keeps us awake at night. We have to leave the next day even if we booked for two nights stay. When we advised of early departure, the host was quick to made it clear that a refund would not be offered.
The stairs is narrow so elderly guest or guests with mobility issues may have a hard time climbing to second floor.
The bedroom level has no climate control.
- Shey (10/5): Yvonne & Glen what fantastic hosts, the warm welcome, freshly baked biscuits with provisions for a continental break - The extraordinary history of this unique property which has been restored beautifully was an experience in itself.
A fantastic location looking overlooking the harbour in Devonport. Sensational views.
This home has all the amenities for long or short term stays, immaculately clean, beautiful linen to accompany an extremely comfortable bed. There isn’t anything not to like about this beautiful property.
- James (10/5): Exceptional - Thank you very much Yvonne & Glen fore your superb hospitality. The cottage is an incredible place to stay in Devonport.
- Alison (10/5): Perfect in every way. - Everything was perfect could not fault one thing. will be happy to return again. beds extra comfy, linen beautiful and crisp, very clean and kitchen is a dream. A lovely outlook to sit and watch the ships coming and going with a glass of Tassies finest. everything was perfect. clean, comfortable, easily accessible with parking and easy walk to town. a perfect spot for a night or two or more.
- Gianna (10/5): Brilliant historical holiday experience - The execution of this property was outstanding - great location , well presented , all of the ammenities that a traveller needs .
It was beautifully renovated and it made the whole experience of sharing a historical property all the more memorable Could not complain. It is a piece of history that cannot be changed . Enjoy the experience .
- Elijah (10/5): High quality, homely stay with incredible views. - Our stay at the cottage was exceptional. The views of the harbour and ocean were fantastic and we saw the Spirit of Tasmania turn in front of the cottage, which was a total bonus! The home was beautifully presented with attention to detail. The kitchen was lovely with modern appliances and we were so appreciative to have a basic breakfast supplied. The location was central and only a short walk away from the shops and cafes. The owners have given us a feeling of luxury with large fluffy towels and an extremely comfortable bed. It certainly felt like a home! We look forward to staying again.
