Guest Reviews
- Rosenberg (1/5): DO NOT STAY HERE, IT HAS BLACK MOULD - Good location DO NOT STAY HERE IT HAS BLACK MOULD, ITS A HEALTH HAZARD!!!
This property smelt of mould as soon as we walked in, we started to investigate and found black mould in the kitchen cupboard that contained cups and plates, behind strategically placed items and found black mould mushrooms growing out of the roof!! The kitchen was dirty and had dirty marks on the cupboards and bench, some plates in the cupboard had food marks still on them, the lounge had a stain on it, the bathroom also had mould on the walls and grout, thick dust covered the fake plants throughout the house. The photos listed on booking.com have been edited and look nothing like what the house actually looks like. We had to book different accommodation for our stay as this place was not acceptable, I delayed this review because I have been fighting for over a month now to get my refund and was told a week ago that the property or property management team will contact me regarding my refund they have not so i am now taking this to fair trading and have lodged a report with their local council and health department. Whatever you do DO NOT STAY HERE AND TO ANYONE WHO HAD THE SAME ISSUE FIGHT THAT REFUND!!
- Mai (8/5): the place is cozy, close distant to everything. We happy with our stay. - excellent location only one bathroom
- Alexandra (4/5): - Location The bed was like sleeping on a hard floor, the place needed work, towel rail falling all wall, the rail going up the stairs was loose. Down stairs bed slats came out. Needs to be advertised as steep stairs up for families booking or people who are elderly. The noise from outside. I understand we are in the city but it felt like I was sleeping on the street it was that loud. I have stayed at places in the city and have family in pyrmont and never have I experienced that .

- Anneke (3/5): Uncomfortable and disappointing - Hot water and other amenities worked. Was a reasonable walk to the harbour. We arrived at 3:45 (we indicated we were going to check in at 3, but allowed extra time for the place to be ready), when we got there, the cleaners were having lunch in our place and hadn't cleaned anything (the beds weren't made and nothing was wiped down or tidied), we were told we couldn't enter for an additional 40 minutes and had to wait to 4:30 to be allowed in which was extremely inconvenient as we had an event to be at, setting us back. Additionally, the downstairs bedroom with the single bed did not have a light switch to turn off the lights, making it extremely uncomfortable to sleep in. The upstairs beds were especially uncomfortable, and the downstairs wooden floor was loose and moved when you stepped on it. This was an extremely disappointing stay that inconvenienced us greatly and caused an extreme amount of discomfort in our group. For the price, this stay was entirely unreasonable.

- Kim (7/5): Cosy, clean and convenient. Our family were happy to have individual rooms while all being together. Like a home away fr - Location, easy walk to all our booked activities. Clean and well equipped to meet our needs. Spare towels were appreciated. Beds could be more comfortable. All were too firm.
Leaky shower recess.

- Frank (8/5): Great one stay with plenty of rooms to accommodate our group. - The close proximity to the location we were visiting for our event. We walker to our event with ease.
The area is quiet and plenty of local cafes, pubs within close proximity for meals.
- Tony (8/5): Nice stay in great location. - Close to area we were in and nice and quite The bed was very hard. Made for uncomfortable night.
- Fiona (6/5): Great location but it lacked in the comforts. - The location was great for our trip We felt it needed a good scrub and the linen wasn’t great, top sheets would be nice and the bath towels need replacing
- Sarah (10/5): Grate spot and cute home love it and will be back for sure -
- Anne-Marie (7/5): A good emergency stay with some accessibility limitations - The location was excellent — close to ICC, Darling Harbour, and public transport. We originally booked elsewhere but had to find a last-minute alternative after our first booking turned out to be a scam. Thankfully, this place was available and met our urgent needs.
It was perfect for the two of us, and I really appreciated that one of the main bedrooms was downstairs — that made a huge difference given my mobility issues. The host’s communication was prompt, and the house felt safe once we settled in. The stairs were extremely steep and definitely not suitable for anyone with mobility challenges. I wouldn’t normally book a property with stairs, but we had limited options at the time. The bathroom fan was incredibly loud — it sounded like a freight train — and the street noise made it hard to sleep at times. There were also a few minor maintenance issues (like a leaky bathroom), but nothing that made the stay unmanageable.
It’s worth noting that while it worked in a pinch, it may not be ideal for guests who need accessible features or a quieter space to rest.
- Matthew (4/5): Great location but not cleaned well. - The location is excellent only a few minutes walk to Darling harbor, the fish market and other great areas. The floors were extremely dirty and sticky. Mopped the place myself because my shoes were sticking to the floor and food was stuck to the floor. Food left in fridge.

- Kennosuke (10/5): -
- Ashley (8/5): - Location, plenty of space. Expensive car parking.
- Elizabeth (1/5): -
- Luke (7/5): Good -
- Avikash (1/5): We had booked for 7 nights but had to cancel our stay after few hours in the house. DO NOT BOOK!!! - - Keys were easy to locate.
- Booking.com Customer service was awesome! - The carpet was old and full of dust. All of us had irritated nose the whole time we were there. Owner claimed that the
carpets were put in an year ago...which is not true at all.
- The stairs design is unsafe for the kids (see photos).
- All Beds were VERY uncomfortable and almost not ideal for sleeping.
- Towels were SUPER YUCK! Forgot to take photos.
- The door lock on the back door to the house was broken. Owner claimed that the shed door is lockable which should
suffice. I totally disagree to this as the actual house doors should always be lockable for safety.
- The whole wooden house showed evidence of rotten timber. Both the walls, floors, doors, etc.
- The bathroom was quite small and considerable amount of water leaked through the door which made the bathroom
floor (common bath and toilet) quite wet.
- Wooden floor made squeaky sound almost everywhere in the house.
- Wooden floor between the lounge and kitchen sinks when pressed upon. Dangerous for kids jumping around the house.
- Cabinet drawers in one of the rooms was broken.
- Cheap kitchenware was available.
- Terrace flooring was old, rotten & full of mould.
- Sofa looked very rundown and dusty.
- Marian (8/5): Very good -
- Robert (8/5): Very good -
- Sue (7/5): Happy enough - The position Needs to be freshened up. Money spent on it . The property has the bones to make a good B and B but the standard as presented was below par. Did have a good time due to its location
- Olivia (2/5): Disappointed for what we paid. - It was quite a good location. The cleanliness was average at best. The condition of the property was very tired and parts of the building felt unsafe. The beds were terribly uncomfortable.
- Tommy (10/5): Very convenient location - We came here for work, and the house is located in the centre , and close to restaurants and easy walk to the city.
- Sheri (5/5): Passable -
- Margaret (5/5): Passable - Everything we needed was in great walking distance. There was nothing said about basic coffee, tea, sugar, milk for the first day not being in supply which you usually get in any accommodation. No coffee mugs, chopping boards. No dustpan & brush!
- Kaleb (9/5): Superb -
- Leanne (8/5): Very good - It was clean and tidy, the location is good. There was only 1 room with air con. The rooms upstairs & the room down the back were very hot even with the fan on
- Emily (6/5): Good location - Location was great within easy walking distance to Darling Harbour. Hosts allowed us to leave our luggage before check in time so we didn't have to carry it around Darling Harbour. They accommodated our request for a change in numbers of guests only a couple of days before booking. Cleanliness was just ok.... it needs a very good bond clean. Even though I was honest about the change of guest numbers, the sofa had no linen to sleep with. Eventually someone did bring some linen (about 8.30pm). For a house that advertises up to 9 guests, the kitchen only had 3 forks and no knives.
