Guest Reviews
- Isra (10/5): Worth the money - Specious apartment All the stairs
- Benjamin (6/5): A unique apartment in a great location. - It was a curious place in a good location. The fact that it was a 4-storey apartment took us a little by surprise and meant a lot of climbing stairs. But that just added to the experience. The Fukashima region of Osaka is a great location to stay as it feels low-key even though it is very close to central Osaka (Umeda) Even though it was 4 storeys high, it was still incredibly compact. So there really wasn't a lounge area at all.
- けいごー (8/5): -
- Sarah (8/5): 4 floors & a spiral staircase - Location was good, beds very comfortable, cooking facilities & equiptment were good (although I couldnt work out the stove) and the view from the roof was a bonus. The stairs are steep & narrow: we managed but it could be difficult to manoeuvre a large suitcase up the three floors.
- Nicole (7/5): Super Lage!

- Nguyen (6/5): There are better places to stay. - It’s a very large 3.5 stories building. Very roomy. This place need a deep clean. Not very clean. The layout is not great. Bed rooms are on the top 2 floors but bathroom is on the bottom floor along with the kitchen. The stairway is pretty much narrow and vertical. In some ways kind of unsafe. If you need to do your business in the middle of the night you have to take the steep stairway down. Be careful!
- Eddie (9/5): Great place for a family of five staying multiple days. It was a quiet neighborhood and close to the train station - Great for the family. Good proximity to the train station. Loved the upstairs patio. Felt like we were at a second home. Quiet neighborhood except for ambulances on occasion at night. Staircase was way too narrow. Was dangerous at times to walk up and down especially wearing slippers.
- Tomàs (8/5): Great place for groups/families visiting Osaka - The house feels new and modern. There is plenty of room for 3 or 4 people. You can wash clothes and leave them on the terrace to dry. The location is great: it's a fairly small neighborhood with plenty of nice little izakayas and restaurants around, but easily connected to the main locations around Osaka. The place was generally very clean, but there were areas on the beds that were very dusty and could have used a wipe for the place to be perfect. The street can get a bit noisy so you're better off bringing ear plugs for a good night's sleep.
They didn't particularly bother me, but if you don't like stairs, you will not like this house as there's a steep and pretty narrow staircase connecting all the floors.
Also, while the house can accommodate a fairly large group, there is only one toilet, which is not ideal. Note however that the toilet is on its own, so people have access to the bathroom and to a sink in one of the rooms while someone is in the toilet.
- Qixiao (10/5): Exceptional -
- 秋田 (10/5): Exceptional -
- Siu (9/5): Superb - Great detached house in a quiet neighbourhood. Very cosy. Sizeable bedrooms with very comfortable beds. Floor heating is definitely a plus. Convenient location with plenty of restaurants nearby, a large convenience store (7-11) around the corner, and a couple of train stations within walking distance. The windows are not very soundproof, so there is a lot of street noise at night, especially on weekends. The narrow and steep winding staircase is akin to lighthouse stairs. This is fine for us but could be a challenge for travellers with physical limitations.
- Tim (10/5): Great apartment, clean, spacious and very comfortable. - Big apartment by Japan standards, plenty of room. Big rooms and the most comfortable beds we had while in Japan. Had to climb lots of stairs with heavy bags. But when we got them up there it was worth it. Not ideal property if you are not very mobile and cant climb stairs (though was not an issue for my family).
- Patrick (10/5): Exceptional -
- Reynaldo (9/5): Awesome way to experience being a local in Osaka! - Home was great and cozy! Really just the stairs, it would be a little challenging for elders and those with disabilities.
- Michelle (9/5): Enjoyed the property and location and would stay here again! - The property was great! It had everything we needed. Nice to be able to do laundry too. Cute bakery next door and located close to train station. There are a lot of stairs to climb. Top floor is laundry and roof. Third and second floor are bedrooms. First flop is kitchen, bathroom and shower. Another few steps down to front door. It wasn’t too bad for us, but if you struggle with stairs, this may not be the right property for you.
- Paul (7/5): It was ok - This property reflected the listing details. Modern interior and renovation done to a high standard
Proper comfortable beds, not on the floor futons 1. The STAIRS are REALLY, REALLY steep across all 3 floors and by non Japanese standards are unsafe to properly navigate even with the hand railing especially with luggage. The stairs also had a structural support running at head and shoulder height which forced you into the narrow part of the step to avoid hitting your head or shoulder.
2. NOISE: It’s in a quiet area, but noise levels seemed high inside the rooms.
- David (10/5): Very glad we stayed. It was a good choice for our family. - Great detached apartment in quiet neighbourhood. 5 min walk to train station (Fukushima on Osaka circle line). Lots of nearby restaurants and supermarkets and convenience stores. Two large bedrooms rooms with comfortable beds. Heated flooring. Small kitchen and dining area. Good WiFi. No lounge area, but didn’t really miss it. We were able to prepare a meal in the kitchen using the induction cooktop and toasting oven. Kind owners dropped off extra blankets before we arrived. Only downside was that the bakery on the first floor was closed during the new year holiday when we stayed so we weren’t able to sample the fresh bakery treats for breakfast. All appliances have Japanese instructions and labels so use camera function on google translate to work out what they do. Washing machine with powder supplied and used rooftop drying line. Windows and wall not very soundproof so could hear sirens go by. Earplugs recommended for light sleepers and those unaccustomed to that sort of street noise. Winding internal staircase was steep and narrow by non Japanese standards. Travellers with physical limitations may find the stairs challenging to get up and down.
