• Paula (3/5): Grotty Grottini was the correct name - Location great Hardly any hot water, untidy outside bins and scruffy and 3 floors to carry cases. Carbon monoxide no batteries in. Bleeped all of first night. Tiny apartment. Damp in bathroom. Owner just said looks like pictures. Really disappointed - travelled to Rome many times by far worst place I have stayed for price

Apartment had not properly been cleaned, there was a big clump of hair in the shower drain, the floors quickly discoloured the bottom of white socks, duvet had a blood stain. For the price it was expected the apartment would have a basic level of hygiene but this was not met.

The studio was furnished with everything, and there was not much more one could wish for The walls were pretty thin and you could hear people coming in and out and people next to you. The bathroom had windows that made it easy to be seen by other people from outside. Minor details.

El aire acondicionado no tenía mando, no había mantas adicionales por si hacía frío, solo había una sartén y no funcionaba en la vitrocerámica de inducción. Además, la limpieza era mejorable.

• Onur (4/5): Great location, but the apartment was poorly maintained, lacked sunlight and essentials, and overall was a disappointing - The location was great and it was easy to reach nearby places. The apartment was not clean enough and didn’t get much sunlight. There were too many stairs to climb, which made it quite tiring. Used soaps were left on the shower floor. The inside of the closets was very dusty. The bed was old and uncomfortable. Kitchen equipment was very limited. There were no basic essentials such as shower gel, shampoo, or coffee provided.

Great little market during the day. Property was generally in poor condition … shabby but not chic. Communication with owner was poor.

• Dimitrios (6/5): Pleasant - This accommodation benefits from an excellent location—within a maximum 10-minute walk from Piazza Navona and the Pantheon, just 7 minutes from Trastevere, and right next to a charming square filled with cafes, restaurants, bars, and clothing shops. From this perspective alone, the price may be considered justified. The overall experience was significantly impacted by an unpleasant incident upon arrival. Although we had indicated an estimated check-in time between 15:00 and 16:00, we arrived slightly earlier, at 14:25, and were granted access to the room. To our surprise, the room was in a completely unprepared and untidy state. The bed still had used sheets and a duvet from the previous guests, and there were their personal trash items left on the bedside table. We immediately contacted the apartment manager, and a cleaner arrived at approximately 14:45. Considering the state in which we found the room, I find it highly unlikely that it would have been ready and properly cleaned even by our estimated check-in time. Moreover, it was quite concerning to realize that the duvet would not have been replaced unless we had specifically requested it to be changed. We left our belongings in the room while cleaning was ongoing, and according to the information provided, the cleaning was completed around 16:45. Upon returning later in the evening, we found the room to be in good condition. While the location is indeed a strong asset, the initial lack of preparedness and the absence of basic hospitality standards—such as ensuring a clean and ready room for new guests—reflect a serious lapse in professionalism and guest care.

The place was 15 minutes from everything and has a laundry next to the building, which is very convenient. The host responded in less than 5 minutes to our queries, he also gave us recommendations of places to visit, which reduced the time we spent searching on other social networks. I have no complaints

• Chrysanthos (6/5): Pleasant - We liked the proximity to everything Rome historic center has to offer. Owners were kind in our messaging exchange. Apartment had everything we needed for our stay (AC,water boiler,plates,towels etc). Some noises from adjacent apartments (rented out to other tourists). Bed was uncomfortable.

Host was easy to contact and explained everything to us Some ventilation in the kitchen/bathroom would be great as you can’t open the windows unless you want people seeing you in the shower! Also, bed in right by door so people returning late can be heard and walls are slightly on the thinner side
• Nina (8/5): Very good - The location is perfect. Right in the centre of Rome. There is a great restaurant just two doors away. The apartment was clean. The hosts are responsive and helped us with everything we needed. The flat was little smaller than the pictures, though. Still big enough for two people. There seems to be a problem with the wi-fi, but the hosts fixed it quicky for us.
