Guest Reviews
- Anonymous Aussie (10/5): - Great location, beautiful and so convienent to city centre and entertainment district.
- Trevor (9/5): - Great location N/A
- Tom (9/5): Very modern, comfortable and in the heart of Hobart. - This room was very nice. It was big enough with a good sized living room/kitchen. And the room upstairs was very well sized, with the access as well to the outdoor balcony. The location of the accomodation is perfect. It puts you right in the heart of Hobart with easy access to plenty of pubs/food/activities.
It's a really nice room with a lot of history while also very modern. Our landcruiser was tight in the garage, but with precision, it worked out. The secure garage was an added bonus. There were a few oddly designed things in the room. First off, in the downstairs bedroom, there is a pane of glass to the bathroom. When someone goes to the bathroom in the night and turns the bathroom light on, it lights up the bedroom which is frustrating.
Also, the exhaust fans are on a timer. It runs from 8am to some time in the early night. If you shower outside of the exhasust fan time range, the bathroom gets super wet with water running down the walls.
- Judi (7/5): - Location Blankets provided need a wash

- Paula (4/5): - The location was great. It was close to everything. Had read noise an issue for some guests but was ok for us and only really on the weekend. Where do I start! Not clean. Place was dirty and worn. Any problems were email remote as no staff on site. Whilst polite and communication was prompt and pleasant, overall customer experience was distant and poor.
For a 6nt stay no housekeeping even to vacuum or fresh towels. Which was problematic as our washing machine broke for most of our stay.
At times there were bad odours and the showers had mould.
The spiral stairs while functional was definitely not for all travellers.. No ventilation as no windows open they had been sealed shut.
We have been frequent travellers to Hobart for 9 years and this was one of the few places we had not stayed in. This was by far the worst value for money and most disappointing.
- Jonathan (8/5): Prime location with comfortable accommodation. - Proximity of property to the wharves and piers in Sullivans Cove, restaurants, cafes, museums, Battery Point, Salamanca and CBD was fantastic.
- Emma (9/5): - Responsive staff. Location was perfect!!!
Funky interior, great shower, delightful bed.
- Howard (7/5): Outstanding Location and Size, Let Down By Some Small but Annoying Items - Fantastic location. Apartment 302 was a good size for our family of three. Spiral staircase to upper level bedroom might be a challenge for some people however, we got used to it. Gibson Mill is right across the road from Brook St Pier with ferry to Mona and a very short walk to Salamanca. Easy walk to great restaurants and cafes. Apartment needs some money spent on it for the price charged. There is only a DVD player connected to the TV (where would you find a DVD to rent?). Is not a smart TV. Cannot cast from your device or sign into your streaming services. Only terrestrial channels available. This issue has been raised by previous guests. A lot of light enters the top floor bedroom first thing in the morning due to translucent blinds over the two skylights. Eye mask helps.

- kirstie (8/5): Perfect location.venue would be perfect witha couple of tweaks - Incredible location. Only free to air tv. Not even a smart tv so rainy days/nights couldn’t relax in front of a movie. Also needs lamps to create better atmosphere and blankets for the lounge. Fridge froze our food.
- Dagmara (1/5): very disappointing - The location is not bad, but the rest is disqualifying. I advise you to avoid it. The property is a disaster. The biggest problem is that it is impossible to obtain an invoice. This is very important to me. In addition, the property does not respond to enquiries.
Finally, they tried to extort $500 from me for an allegedly broken garage remote control. If it had been broken, I would not have been able to leave the garage. It was a clear attempt at extortion.
The oven did not work. The heating system was problematic. The owner did not respond to questions.
Another very problematic issue was the entrance to the building itself and the difficulty in opening the outer door.

- Zuidema (9/5): Our stay was fantastic. It met the needs of my elderly parents and gave me a separate space. - The location was amazing and the appartment was clean and spacious. The downstairs foyer is dark and there was something sticky on the floor for the entire time we stayed (3 nights), however I didn't report this to be cleaned as it was only a little annoying and didnt impact our stay.
- Phillip (3/5): Could and should have been much better for the price - Great location is excellent for Hobart and access to trips/tours. The apartment is a great conversion of an old mill. Day 1 - we reported that the WiFi was not working and this was never resolved. We needed this for one of our party and it created a real problem.
Day 5 - woken at 06:30am by very loud drilling and hammering that went on for over 2hrs.
Raised both of these matters through Booking.Com with the owners and still have no resolution / compensation some 5 weeks later (as at 2-Jun).
- Lara (10/5): Fabulous penthouse & unbeatable location! -
- Lauren (8/5): Great location and everything you need - Location was great, lots of space, comfortable beds, private balcony with views, well equipped kitchen, funky industrial style Staircase to the upper bedroom suite was fine for us, but may be a bit difficult for someone older. Would have been good to have a Bluetooth speaker there, but we were able to play ABC radio stations through the TV
- Robert (10/5): A perfect place to stay in a great location. - Great location right next to constitution dock and all of the pubs and restaurants. Very comfortable, lean and well equipped, including washing machine and dryer. We also able to squeeze our 2006 Land Cruiser into the secure car park - we were correctly warned that it might not fit and ghat there were alternatives nearby. All great!
- Michael (5/5): lucky we had nice weather and didn't spend much time in the room - great location and car park a bonus
having a balcony was great as rooms themselves don't really have a view as such. staircase to upstairs bedroom should be made illegal. I'm in my late 60's and i struggled to get up with suitcase
also a TV would complement the room, there is enough space to even have a sofa chair.
couldn't connet to house internet - poor especially these days
tried to call contact number for help with internet and kept dropping out. Got by with my phone data.
- Mykola (10/5): Wonderful property for the weekend stay at Hobart. - Basically pretty much everything is great about the "302". The location is great, there is a balcony with the view onto the hills and Salamanca place too. The appartment is of the penthouse type. It has a cosy top floor. The host is super accessible and nice. Parking is onsite. Definitely will be returning here. Please note that parking is good only for the small cars. Might be a problemfor people renting SUVs :-)
- Sally (5/5): Great location ruined by noise - Location, Top Floor, Spacious. Next door to a nightclub - music until 5am both nights. Sleep was very tricky.
- Karen (10/5): Excellent Location - Well appointed, fantastic location the lighting over the spiral staircase needs to be brighter
- Shelley (9/5): Superb - Great location short walk to cafes, restaurants, Salamanca markets and Princes Wharf. Secure off street car parking was a bonus.
- Buckingham (10/5): Beautiful penthouse with private balcony overlooking pier. Fantastic location, very professional management. Would defin - Everything exceptional
