• Scott (10/5): It was perfectly located & we were very happy with the cleanliness. - We were seeing a concert at the Triffid & we could not have been happier with the location, it’s literally at the front door! The apartment was very clean & well organised & had everything we needed for our short stay. Parking was really easy too which is a huge plus.
• Anushka (6/5): Ok for one night if you’re on a budget - There are some great things about the property • location is excellent. Walking distance to restaurants, bars, and shopping. • public transport nearby • host was responsive Unfortunately, the property falls VERY short. I felt like a poor uni student in lodgings - the couch is well past its due date and despite numerous comments remains in place. It sags in the middle and is very uncomfortable. The furnishings are all very very cheap quality. Two flat pillows and a horrible mattress… I had a sore neck every day. The fans in the apartment were not cleaned and covered in dust. The shower head is leaking badly. There is a constant drain smell which has been commented on many times, surely a drain clean would alleviate some of this issue. The internet didn’t work my entire stay. Which impacted me as I needed to do work and had to stream Netflix from my phone using my data. Be aware if you are a private person that the adjacent apartment building is close and looks into the apartment. I didn’t find it too intrusive as someone who prefers privacy. It feels more like an income stream than a place that’s been thoughtfully created with guest experience and comfort in mind.
• Samantha (7/5): Great location, but needs upgrades for the cost. - The location was very handy for the event we were attending, and the contact was very responsive. To maintain privacy, we had to keep blinds closed. The lounge is a very well-worn sofa bed, so uncomfortable to sit on. The bathroom needs mould cleaning. The ironing board is one of those tiny bench top ones that are useless to use.
• Tiarni (3/5): - The location is fantastic for seeing shows at The Triffid. The apartment looks clean at face value, but when you look closer it's covered in mould and dust. Immediately when you walk in it smells like dampness covered up with air freshener. None of the shelves in the robe had been wiped, and the carpets had thick layers of dust around the edges. There's mould on the ceiling and the fridge in the kitchen, in the bathrooom, inside the sofa bed too - which is impossible to sit on properly because the mattress isn't inside it (which is meant to stay on when it's closed up so that the couch doesn't sag). I got sick immediately after my stay and I'm certain it's because of the mould. The washing machine was filthy too, I couldn't bring myself to put my clothes in it. The dining table is also unstable, and the bed isn't very sturdy either - it's creaks loudly, and the mattress feels 20 years overdue for a replacement. There's no reason why a bnb that charges this much shouldn't have good furniture and be properly clean. The mould is a serious issue that needs to be sorted professionally, as well as the cause of the dampness. There were fruit flies coming out of all of the drains in the apartment too, likely part of whatever damp thing is going on.

• Andrew (8/5): Great apartment, had everything we needed - The location was great and the apartment was very clean and spacious, had everything we needed for a short stay. The hosts were also very responsive and replied quickly if we had any questions. The wifi was a bit slow at times. Also took a while to figure out how to get up to the third floor carpark as the instructions didn’t specify that there was an extra fob in the carpark that controls the gate to level 2 but once we realised that there were no issues.
• Sharon (8/5): City life - The unit was roomy, great size kitchen. Very clean. Overlooked pool. Pool is a great size for a decent swim. Green trees and landscape made it aestheticly pleasant . Bed comfortable. Fold out mattress available. Car park very secure. The lounge was uncomfortable, it sagged and seemed old and worn. Looked straight across into many other units so privacy is compromised.

• Colin (7/5): Overall it was a pleasant stay, 15 min walk to the ferry terminal. Good way to get around to see the - The ventilation doesn’t seem to be working properly as each time we entered the apartment there was a build up of stagnant air / odours, this seems to a building issue, we had balcony door open to allow fresh air in. The toilet hadn’t been cleaned very well. And the sofa isn’t very comfortable as it has sunk / dropped in the middle. The pool isn’t that fantastic as it is in the shade most of the day caused by the surrounding buildings, which also causes it to be a little windy.

• Bridget (8/5): Was a very pleasant place to stay. Great value. - Great location near a bus stop, ten minutes from the ferry. Great supermarket nearby. The foyer of building is inviting. After day one we had limited hot water. Bathroom needs a deep clean or repair work.

• Udeen (8/5): This little bear doesn't like the soft bed - The location was perfect for our purpose. We had a concert at the Triffid - just few meters away! The parking space, which was also included, was a bonus. Good restaurants close by. Unfortunately the bed has seen better days. Way too soft to our liking and noisy. The shower could have been hotter and the couch also.be replaced.

• Abby (7/5): Overall good stay, we enjoyed the location & being able to use the pool but could do a bit more attention to detail - Located close to public transport, supermarkets & cafes. Free wifi for the entire stay. The blinds in the bedroom had a bit of mould & also the bottom of the shower door was quite dirty
• Cesare (9/5): Nice stay for any length of time. - Keys are picked up from a key safe across the road. This is ok but it would help to better differentiate the key safe from many, many, others there! The apartment is nice with plenty of room for two people and has everything you need including a big fridge/freezer and various condiments and coffee pods. Thank you! Cleanliness is ok, the bed is comfy and it is very quiet (with doors and windows closed) given the busy location which is just steps from shops, cafes, etc. Secure parking is easy to use. There are a washer and dryer (which we did not use) and overall it's very liveable. The bathroom could do with some minor maintenance in the shower space and the couch (sofa bed) is NOT comfortable at all.

• Aidan (1/5): Dissapointed considering the money spent - Location was good and it was a nice place There was mould/dampness around the room which caused me to break out in spots and made it impossible to sleep, when I told the host they said I could leave and get refunded for one night or stay. Overall they weren’t interested

• Kris (10/5): Convenient location, clean and tidy - Arrived before 5pm, plenty of parking in street to collect keys from lockbox. Apartment was very tidy. Liked how everything was labelled to easily find cups, etc. Only used kettle for tea but kitchen was in great condition. Will be back for future visits to Newstead.

• Dale (9/5): Great location to stay that was lovely and clean - The location was great for me , the unit was well appointed and very very clean overall , I liked the size of the appartment and how well the kitchen was stocked also the addition of little things like glad wrap , salt /pepper /oil ect The only thing I didn’t like was looking out into others property which meant they could look into ours . Just on a facilities note the gas stove 2 of the burners I could not get to work and in the main bed the small blind had a little bit of mold on it near the bed side table

• Krista (9/5): Superb - Location was great, unit was lovely and reasonably quiet considering the area too. Host was amazing and easy to contact. Neighbours were very friendly and helpful. Kitchen could have been cleaner, had to wash glasses and cutlery before use as they were greasy and had food still on them from the last visitor. Shower head, hose and rail needs replacing as it doesn't stay upright any more and flops down making showering difficult. Only one elevator working for the whole complex, but that is more on body corp than the host.
• Roger (8/5): Very nice to stay at. - There was no other facilitiess There is some issues: 1. the door to from the balcony does not lock due to misalignment. 2. as some time the fire alarm has been disabled by some person, probably a tenant, by putting glad wrap over it. Very serious.
