Guest Reviews
- Minh (1/5): Horror story - We enjoyed the firepit, fireplace, and games room. Shame no BBQ though. We had no water at all on the first night. We were a family of 4 adults and 5 kids. We weren't able to flush the toilets, wash our hands after using the toilets, and we couldn't shower. Management provides a mobile number for after hours issues but they don't answer calls or reply to SMS. The only contact was via messages through the booking.com app. We spent hours following their troubleshooting instructions, ultimately, they suspected that the water tank was empty and said they'll send someone in the morning. The contractor didn't arrive till 11.45am the next day.
Despite the horror we faced the first night and next morning, the host refused to offer a refund for the first night. The spit in the face is they said they already offered us 2hrs late check-out as a gesture of good will. I'm sure everyone reading this will agree that 2hrs late check-out doesn't come close to compensation for what we had to endure.
Furthermore, the night of being back at home, the host rang me directly asking me if I left any taps running because the new guests didn't have water. This was an insult. The cleaner was the last person in the house.
- Pressica (5/5): Group getaway - Location it was close enough to where we wanted to go. Zig Zag railway, etc. The host was easily contactable and replied promptly to any issues and was very polite and happy to help resolve any queries. Great place to disconnect from technology. Beautiful view. Children loved the game shed.
Half of us loved the beds and found it comfortable. All down to preference. Internet is not reliable. We had 5 phones between all of us using two different networks and experienced the same connection issues. We couldn't even connect the laptop to the wifi.
There was not enough seating. For example, if you wanted to do a movie night, the sofa only seated about 4 people maximum, and the other 4 would have to sit on the floor. We were a group of 8. Also, not a big enough dining table for the 8 of us with not enough seating.
- Zoe (1/5): Unhelpful, unkind host for a property in a gorgeous area. - The area is beautiful, the property is very serene. We wanted so badly to enjoy our stay, but communication with the host was lacklustre, and no compassion was shown for what had occurred. The house hadn't been cleaned/serviced before our arrival, unmade beds with dirt throughout, nappies in the bathroom, food in the kitchen/fridge. The host couldn't arrange clean sheets for us on the first night so we had to sleep on dirty sheets, we'd messaged as soon as we'd arrived in the afternoon to let them know. A simple apology would've gone a long way. We spoke to grounds staff and found out the property manager actually lived close by. After sleeping the night on top of doonas to not sleep in the sheets full of dirt, this was extremely disappointing to know the solution was around the corner, but the property manager never bothered to show face.
We were also locked on the property on our first morning because we were given the wrong codes for the security gate. We were stuck inside the property trying to make contact for almost 2 hours, missing breakfast and an important meeting. On a critical bushfire day too, felt dangerous.
The internet is patchy to the point of it being too difficult to stream any tv/movies. We were there on work and could barely update shared documents. A message to the host did not resolve those. Being a younger millennial, I know my way around a wifi extender, nothing would fix the issue and no access to main router, and again, host did not fix this issue.
