Guest Reviews
- Kris (4/5): -
- Peta (10/5): Hobart cool in the perfect location! - Such a cool place that is well stocked and comfortable beds! Plenty of room for the four of us on our girls weekend! Bonus having a bedroom each! So conveniently located to Salamanca and surrounding areas. Being on a busy main street, I thought there might be traffic noise, but it was incredibly quiet. Nothing to fault!
- Rose (9/5): -
- Heather (9/5): - Plenty of space Didn't realise that it was on such a main road, not that it was noisy, just difficult with parking.
- Tania (10/5): Relaxing with a lot of local activities to choose from. Walking distance to most of them. - We liked the old time feel to the place and its proximity to the markets and the harbour. Further information about parking would have been of value.
- Timothy (10/5): -
- Kerry (9/5): - Gorgeous place with lots of character, had everything you needed. Great spot and walking distance to everything you need..
- Helen (10/5): - The house was beautiful and location perfect
- Natalie (10/5): - Very cozy, lovely decor, huge bathroom, comfy beds, great location and an added touch of handwritten restaurant and activity recommendations on the blackboard splash back in the kitchen.
- Liz (10/5): Fantastic. And our host could not have made it easier. Thank you - Great location. Beautiful property
- Sharon (8/5): Was very good but could have been amazing - Great location .. great beds very warm and comfortable .. kitchen well equipped.. and nice place to stay. Given the price, would have liked to be able to access the second toilet without going into a bedroom and preferably a second shower as per description on booking .. 2 bathrooms which owner says is a glitch with booking.com not allowing to just say 2nd toilet only not 2nd bathroom.. with 4 adults did make bathroom time too busy .. also painters had been in and not cleaned sanding soot from pillows in bedroom .. and smelt musky in downstairs bedroom

- PETER (9/5): chose for location, but enjoyed the old building feel, well presented and comfy, kitchen well equip - nicely appointed, renovated with nice touch for the old with all the necessary new essentials, best location visiting the market, 4 good sized bedrooms were great,
- Karen (10/5): Wonderful property, close to everyting! - Fantastic location, walking distance to town, piers, Salamanca market, museum etc. Clean property. Great facilities. Nicely decorated, quirky. Nothing really. Traffic noise was audible, but the trade off is the great location.
- Erin (10/5): -

- Ondra (10/5): Very much enjoyed our stay and would stay again - Location was fantastic - so close to Salamanca market Would have liked another full bathroom and beds which could be configured different ways
- Sandra (9/5): Small things mattered to having the heating on our arrival. - Great location, walkable to city area, markets, restaurants.
- Karon (10/5): Perfect all round! - Location was excellent, property was lovely and perfect for our needs and exactly as advertised. Host was lovely to deal with and responsive.
- Hannah (10/5): Perfect stay in a perfect location. - Brilliant location, short stroll to Salamanca and the warf one way and main streets the other way. The home itself was inviting, warm and comfortable. Beautiful bathroom! Great laundry facilities. No complaints
- Christopher (10/5): Perfect location - Great location - very clean. Beautiful bathroom. One shower downstairs.
- Frances (10/5): Amazing location and cosy comfortable stay - We loved our stay at 55 Davey. The location was amazing, just near Salamanca and the docks. The place was really cosy and comfortable with the best bed I’ve ever slept in (bottom level queen) and a beautiful bathroom. Lots of everything you would need including coffee machine, plenty of towels, just a lovely comfortable and easy place to stay. Thanks for having us The only thing I might suggest is a speaker to play some music as I forgot mine was everything else was beautiful
- Catherine (10/5): Exceptional -
- Andrew (9/5): Superb -
- Katy (9/5): Superb -

- Lee (10/5): Family birthday bash - The location, place was very clean and the decor was funky! So many little thoughtful touches included, like tissue boxes in several locations, lots of kitchen appliances and condiments. We had 2 double rooms and 2 singles. For the price we would have preferred a double bed in 2nd downstairs bedroom at least instead of a single. OK for kids but not adults. Overall beds were ok, pillows a little lumpy. The two double rooms were of a good size but singles a little small (for tall adults). Other than that all very good and we enjoyed the location and the ambiance of the property. .
- Phil (8/5): Very good -
- Jill (9/5): Great stay - Location was perfect for Salamanca, wharf area and downtown. Character home with good kitchen. Plenty of tea/coffee and milk supplied. Huge downstairs bathroom with double shower, bath and laundry facilities. The second bathroom was only a toilet and basin located in the single bedroom. Was not a problem for us 4 girls, but if this was booked for 3 or 4 couples the lower bathroom might be a bit busy.
- Tammy (7/5): Nice place good location disappointed about advertising of 2 bathrooms . - Was very well equipped and proximity to everything was good and clean. except no second bathroom as stated on booking.com No second bathroom as noted on the booking only a toilet in a closet this was weird in a bedroom. We were 2 couples and very disappointed we had to share bathroom. This took time from our schedule.
- Tracey (10/5): Great Townhouse close to everything. - Location was close to Salamanca and the Wharf area.
Good facilities and spacious townhouse. Cosy and modern decor.
Also felt secure and safe. The musty/damp smell downstairs.
Felt the townhouse was over decorated.
- Deirdre (10/5): Brilliant location wonderful host very prompt replies to texts - Beautiful old world house very comfortable beds Would have like 2 full bathrooms also couch not comfortable
- Lisa (9/5): Excellent location, walking distance to most things in the city. Clean and nicely decorated - Great style and location We liked everything
- Annette (9/5): Perfect location and an excellent place for a group to stay. - Perfect location for walking to Salamanca and restaurants. Very cool decor. Nice lounge area and plenty of space for 6 people. Well equipped kitchen. Given the price, would have liked to be able to access the second toilet without going into a bedroom and preferably a second shower.
- Keitha (9/5): Superb -
- Nicholas (10/5): Exceptional -
- Caroline (10/5): Wonderful experience - Felt very welcoming from the moment we stepped in , clean & well presented . Kitchen was amazing so good to have some tea & coffe & milk thank you so much . Also the double glazing in lounge kitchen was great you couldn’t hear the road at all . Very warm home with all the heaters etc so comfortable
- Janine (8/5): Very good -
- Andrew (9/5): Great warm Townhouse very comfortable to get out of the cold - Location and history Nothing
- Nolan (9/5): Superb - Beautiful accomodation, nice touches, very central. Communication with owner was the most limited I've ever experienced, like ...short, sharp responses only. House more than made up for it though, was stunning.
- Lisa (10/5): Fabulous, fabulous, fabulous! - It was beyond our expectations. The apartment has a charming view of the park. The location of the property was perfect for all the activities my friends and I had planned to do. It was walking distance to and from Salamanca, the ferry to Mona, the Winter Feast and loads of other points of interest and yummy places to dine. We found the apartment quiet and cosy, even though it overlooks busy Davey Street. The parking was easy too.
- Poppy (9/5): Superb -
- Aleisha (10/5): Absolutely fantastic. - Loved the location, it was perfect. The house was beautifully presented with the nicest little touches. They clearly read reviews and adjust things accordingly. I recommend this property highly and I wouldn’t change a thing. We had the most fabulous weekend away. Thank you. Nothing. It was perfect!!
- Catherine (10/5): A fabulous property in a great location. Lots of ‘wow’s’ for the beautiful decor. It was perfect for our group of 5. -
- Dawn (8/5): We appreciated the work that’s gone into the decor of the property. - We loved the location. It’s so close to Salamanca & the harbour. We could walk to the markets, to eat & to shop. Also we enjoyed the antique feel & look of the decor. 4 bedrooms is great when touring with a group. Only one bathroom. Could do with more hanging space for clothes. Quite noisy from the upper apartments.
- Daniel (10/5): Comfy and cosy, perfect for a family or a getaway with great friends - It was so convenient to everything and as we arrived the staff were cleaning and let us check in and also mentioned that we could stay later as no one was booked after us.
- Robyn (6/5): Great location. - The location was very good. The bedrooms were comfortable and the kitchen had all that we needed. The mouldy musty smell in the basement bathroom was unpleasant. This would probably be the only reason that I would not stay at this place again. The upstairs toilet was in a bedroom so this was not convenient for any other guests sleeping on the same level.
- Delanie (5/5): Average - Location was good but because of heavy traffic, the windows were sealed and not able to be opened for fresh air. Parking was terrible. Make sure you book in advance. Our car park had been rented out so we had to park blocks away then get up at 5.00 am to fetch the car out by 6.00 am.
We got a lot of noise transferance from the people in the upstairs townhouse who arrived in at around 12.30 at night.
Downstairs area was very dark and dingy despite the bright airy photos on the internet. The downstairs area also got a lot of noise through the floor from the kitchen and lounge area upstairs. The toilet got blocked due to a pump needing replacement.
- Belinda (10/5): Exceptional - Great location. Comfy beds. Property manager very accommodating and friendly.
- Patricia (9/5): Superb -
- Di (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alison (6/5): Pleasant - Great location and well appointed Unfortunately there was a pervasive mould smell in the basement floor that meant we could not use the second bedroom downstairs and limited use of the beautiful bathroom
- Foon (10/5): Fantastic location in the city of Hobart. - The location is strategic with easy access by walking. Parking space is nearby the property and paid to reserve it. Kitchen equipped with lots of kitchen utensils and convenient if to self cook during the stay. Is not about unlike the property, is about concern if there are elderly travellers. As the property has 2 stories, elderly with limited mobility may have some difficulty to move around the house. Overall, no further comments.
- Wendy (10/5): Fantastic house to stay within walking distance to the waterfront and city centre - Loved the location. Easy walking distance to the waterfront and Salamanca markets. Large house that easily accommodated 4 girls for a getaway. Nothing. Was great.
- Kirsty (9/5): Well equipped quirky apartment in a fantastic location within walking distance to everything - Fantastic location and lovely quirky apartment
- Anonymous (8/5): Great location and beautiful accommodation! - Great location close to everything. Electric blankets kept us all warm on the cold nights. Key lock meant easy access. It would be useful to have more drinking glasses, and tubs for storage. Ottomans would provide extra comfort.
- Andrew (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jan (9/5): Superb - The living room/kitchen area was a great comfy hangout for the 4 of us when we wanted to escape the cold.
- Azhar (8/5): Very good -
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional - Location and charm
- Laura (10/5): Exceptional -
- Fiona (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anonymous (9/5): Absolutely beautiful property in a fantastic central location - Beautifully styled property with all the comforts and necessities required for a weekend away, great location, great host who was easy to deal with, great value for money
- Xena (10/5): fabulous stay - perfect for weekend away with friends. - Location and the size of the property nothing!
- Michele (10/5): Our stay was perfect we were close to all the great restaurants, shops and the market. - The location was excellent and the facilities were perfect for our group. we had a wonderful stay and everything we could need was available. N/A
- Jo (7/5): very convenient location -
- Jenny (9/5): Lovely house in fabulous location - Location was fabulous for salamanca, the harbour and Battery Point. The Living room/ kitchen was really nice and great space to be together. All the rooms had heaters and beds had electric blankets. Glad there was a half bathroom upstairs as main bathroom downstairs. Double glazing on front windows stops all the traffic noise and lets the light in. Parking spot was great and close to house. Dave the host was very responsive. Booking.com advertised 2 bathrooms but its really 1.5. Wouldn’t stop us staying here again though as the place is great.
- Kylie (8/5): we stayed here as family of 5. Perfectly comfortable and met every need - beautiful historical building
easy walk to town centre
great facilities it didn’t keep us awake but you can hear street noise
- Nicole (10/5): Gorgeous historic home, offering a unique taste of the past with modern conveniences. - Stunning renovation with many period features, charming decorations and quirky accessories. CBD location is a perfect base for exploring the many attractions close by.
- Tricia (6/5): Great location but unhappy with comfort of property - Beds were uncomfortable as were the chairs in lounge. Could only see tv from one seat. Not a comfortable property but great location
- Amanda (10/5): Great place to stay.. very high end, quirky features , very comfortable and central to everywhere -
- Martin (7/5): Good - Parking was a problem, I read it was included in the costs and for the first 2 nights we had no allocated parking and we had to pay $20 for each of the last 2 nights.
- Psong (8/5): Very good -
- Cherrene (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jenny (10/5): Fantastic stay - Fantastic location , awesome little house with some very lovely personal touches .
On arrival , a basket of local goodies was left in the kitchen for us to enjoy .
If you're looking for something a little more traditional , some old world charm and almost a little quirky ,55 Davey Street is it.. Plenty of room for our group of 2 couples and one single.
Communication with the owner easy also. Any questions answered quickly.
Will be our go to whenever in Hobart in the future .

- Erin (10/5): Exceptional - loved the location, the house itself was lovely and well designed and furnished . was such a cute little place to stay
- Marina (8/5): excellent period home in a great location - location and period character lack of natural light and fresh air, especially downstairs in the basement.
- Jazmine (9/5): Superb - The location was great and the town house was beautiful! Being a bit of a nervous driver the traffic made it a bit hard to get to sometimes
- Kim (8/5): Very good -
- Brett (9/5): Superb -
- Chloe (9/5): Superb -
- Caroline (8/5): great location, great property. - gorgeous old period property that has been perfectly renovated for groups. bit of a damp smell downstairs
