- Rina (1/5): Bad - Only the location was good - close to the waterfront of Lake Ontario and Port Credit It was so bad, my family of 10, who had come to attend a marriage, had to leave within 2 hours of being in the house and book 3 hotel rooms at the Waterside Inn in Port Credit. Luckily, the rooms were available. We wrote to the owner why we could not stay, and have requested a refund. We will be writing to Booking.com also.
The outside of the house has not been maintained, and no one could step out into the backyard as it was overgrown. There is no central cooling and ugly holes have been made in the walls for exhaust of portable ACs, which could not cool effectively. The kitchen area had no cooling. The basement, where the laundry is located, is forbidding, poorly lit and smelled dank and foul. The curtains, and even bed linen looked unclean. We tried to move the sofa in the living room to put a matress from the attic (it was impossible to sleep in that hot room) but the furniture is so old the legs just came off. The bathrooms smelled foul and had fungus.
It is unsafe to live in such a shockingly unattended home, with young children, and we had to immediately move out the family to a hotel!!! Have not experienced such poor accommodation in all our years of travel. We paid almost $3000/- for 4 nights but had to move out immediately. We are hoping the owner will give a refund, and work on maintaining the property if he wishes to rent it out.
We are disappointed with Booking.com for advertising this property on their website - we suspect it was not inspected before allowing to be advertised on the esteemed website! We await a reponse from the Company.
