Guest Reviews
- Bas (9/5): We had a great skiing holiday with slopes an rental really close by - Close to skislopes/lift No shops in the village
- Stephanie (8/5): Brilliant chalet, very well equipped and in great close location to the slopes. Clean & modern. - The location is fantastic - a short (less than 5 minute) walk down a gentle incline road to slope access. Then a very short descent to a drag lift to get you on the slopes good and proper. There was also a small ticket office at this drag lift, which was very convenient to buy/collect your ski passes.
First floor flat meant you didn't hear the comings and goings of other guests - in fact the sound proofing from other flats is outstanding. We didn't hear noise from another flat all week - and they were all occupied.
Ski locker is on the same level as the front door of the flats - no need to have to go down a whole heap of stairs to get your skis.
There is a single shop in the village where you can order croissants and bread from, as well as get fairly basic items. Do nor rely on this shop to stock you up for the week - stop at a bigger supermarket way down the mountain to stock up on essentials.
There is a ski hire shop in the village, which is more expensive than say from Chatel, but since it has exclusivity in the village then it's able to charge a premium.
There were 2-3 restaurants that we found to be open - Chez Gaby is the nicest, though it is quite a slog to walk first of all up the road, and second of all up the mountain/across the snow.
The kitchen is brilliantly stocked with all you need - plenty of plates, cutlery and glass wear BUT we were only a part of 3, so we had enough.
There was a plentiful supply of dish washing tablets, though I don't know if these were left from previous guests or supplied by the host. Washing up liquid, a sponge and cloth were provided.
The bathrooms are lovely and modern, with fantastic mirrors and lighting in each! However please see my other note, there are not 2 bathrooms, but one split into two. The toilet and sink bathroom are upstairs, the sink and bath bathroom are downstairs. Remember to bring your own bath mat for the floor. The ski locker is fairly basic - no heated boot storage/ boot storage at all. The boots needed to be carried upstairs and left outside your flat. But there was a super cute boot rack outside the flat, so all is well.
You have to bring your own towels which is a big inconvenience in my opinion. We were driving, so had the space in our luggage, but if you were flying then bringing towels would be a real pain. They supply the bedding, so why not the towels?
Also make sure you bring towels for the kitchen, and tea towels.
The listing says toilet paper is provided, but this is not the case. There was one part used roll in the bathroom when we arrived, but that was it, so make sure you bring your own. I don't recall seeing any in the shop, but I'm sure there might have been.
The listing says 2 bathrooms, but this is not the case. There are two rooms that contain bathroom furniture - one has a toilet and a sink. One has a sink and a bath/shower. There is only one toilet, and only one bath/shower. This was ok for the three of us, but might be more of an issue for a bigger group.
The downstairs bedroom (bunk bed room) looks like it will have amazing storage but in fact there is only one single wardrobe for guests to use - the remaining 4 are used for : extra bedding storage, hoover/cleaning equipment storage, and the final two were locked shut. So only one single wardrobe for potentially 4 people sleeping in that room.
Check out says 10am-12pm, but they ask you to be gone between 9-10am; not a problem for most I imagine - you'll want to be leaving earlier than that anyway.
Take your own pillows if you want a better night's sleep. The pillows were not great :-(
