Guest Reviews
- Karavana Flamenca (10/5): Bright, warm and well equipped, would happily return to this cosy cottage - The property was bright, warm and well equipped. We found everything we needed to cook meals and were close to nearby attractions. . A fun vintage vibe in the old cottage!
- tony (8/5): Great spot all you need with plenty of space - great getaway very spacious old charm of house a little bit noisy with trains to rear and highway at front but soon got used to it .
- Ed (9/5): Very pleasant. Hosts extremely helpful - Lovely Historic home
- Martin (9/5): -
- Antonia (8/5): Lovely old comfortable home - Spacious two bedroom home. Very old heritage, though comfortable and clean. Due to the age of the property there are very few power points though we managed. Paul, the host was very helpful and welcoming. A bar-b-q on the property would be a bonus. There is no power point in the bathroom so drying or straightening hair is a big issue as there are no mirrors in the bedroom, you can't plug in and use the appliances in the bedrooms either, so you can't see what you are doing.
The only other problem was the TV which only gets ABC & SBS ..... need to have a laptop and a cable to attach to the television if you want to watch anything else. Paul said he was going to fix the problem so that may not be an issue anymore.
- Bernadette (6/5): Overall comfortable - One bed was unstable - very uncomfortable (carpeted bedroom). Also would be nice to know that other people might be staying at property - disconcerting.
- Ingrid (8/5): Easy to find, comfortable and clean.relaxing - Great location, clean, quaint and felt safe.
- Kajal (10/5): Amazing! - The property is big and beautiful, also the location is perfect. It’s almost like having a home away from home. We’d definitely would like to book it again.
- Fabio (10/5): -
- Jenny (8/5): Convenient location - A comfy old house in a convenient location 5 minutes from Castlemaine. A good sized living space and adequate kitchen for cooking. The house is on the main highway and was a bit noisier than I expected, but we slept in the rear bedroom which was fine.
- Ryan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Doreen (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful comfy cottage with all amenities required
- Guy (9/5): Superb - Very spacious, in a good central location, fully equipped kitchen, and kangaroos at the back door😁 Nothing..maybe a few more glasses would nice...
- Maria (10/5): Unforgettable! - We stayed for a weekend with my family and absolutely loved it. The house is beautifully cosy and full of historic charm—it felt like home the moment we walked in. I’m a huge fan of this kind of architecture and even told my partner it’s the kind of house I’d love to live in one day!
The hosts went above and beyond. I mentioned my dad would be joining us, and not only were they understanding—they didn’t charge extra and were incredibly kind and helpful throughout our stay.
To top it all off, we were lucky enough to spot a large kangaroo in the backyard—such a special moment!
I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a peaceful, character-filled getaway.
- Liz (9/5): Superb - Location comfort Nothing
- Mary (8/5): Handy accommodation in a good location for visiting nearby Castlemaine and Bendigo. - Location and charm of the building.
Great shower and comfy bed in the front room. The bed in the room away from the road was very hard so we slept in the front room where there was some noise from the road (no big deal for us though)
We needed doonas from both beds so that we were warm enough. In the winter time, spare doonas would be really handy.
- Christine (9/5): Well worth the money paid - would stay again if in that area - Location was excellent, we managed to do what we wanted to do. House was exceptional Looking for the house in the dark - but that was our problem :)
- Lisbeth (8/5): Very good - Host was wonderful.
- Freekyboi4 (10/5): Exceptional -
- Deb (8/5): Very good -
