Guest Reviews
- Mick (10/5): Loved it - once we were in - The agents never answered emails - hopeless. Also got mixed messages about linen etc - still gave us wrong answer when we arrived The owners were part of the same property - they were great but as stated above the agents had no idea and did not respond to at least 5 emails
- Teresa (10/5): Very comfortable, clean and quiet unit with full kitchen and amenities. -
- Taylor (3/5): Will never again book through Lifestyle Group, South West Rocks - Positioned well in town. Clean. Comfy bed. My brother paid for me to have a well deserved 10 day respite break from being the full-time live-in carer for our elderly mother. I booked with Pelican Pad through Lifestyle Group SWR from 1st Aug to 8th Aug. I was so looking forward to it, but it went pear-shaped very quickly. Instructed to bring own linen, dishwashing supplies, toilet paper, etc., but then did not need them. Written instructions inside, saying only to use dishwashing products supplied. Being told it was pet-friendly and needing to request permission to bring my dog, having my booking confirmed and money taken, then being told I had not asked permission for my dog. Agent had to call hosts to advise that the dog permission had been missed on their end, so I was allowed to have my dog afterall, just had to pay an additional $250 bond to cover "extra" cleaning. My dog was not allowed in their backyard because of the hosts' own dogs. Yet the hosts were not there and had left their backyard littered with diarrhetic dog poop. I had to clean up any poop from my dog (no-brainer, I didn't need to be told that).
Checked in 15:45 on Fri 1st Aug, initially it appeared the hosts were home (upstairs) as lights were on and their car was in the driveway, but they were not. A horrendous storm hit Sat 2nd Aug at approx. 9:00-9:30am, power went out approx. 10:45am. Power ETA to be restored by Sun evening. Didn't happen. The carnage left by the storm was massive. No one (Agent or Hosts) called to check if I was ok. No one (Agent) answered their phones. No one (Agent) returned my calls. No one (Agent or Hosts) physically came to check on me. No power meant nothing was open or operational. No food, no cooking abilities, no heater. I had to drive to Kempsey to charge my phone. Thank you McDonalds for being open Sun, so I could at least get coffee. Thank you Liberty petrol station for being open, so I could fuel up. Nothing else was open, so they must've had generators.
Power restoration ETA changed to Mon evening however, Mon morning the Macleay River flood warning was issued. I called Agent and left a message that I was leaving, also asked if I could be refunded for the unused days.

- Julie (7/5): Comfy, clean and good location - The property was very homely, very clean and well set out for a couple. The kitchen had plenty of utensils and was even stocked with other handy supplies such as cling wrap, paper towel etc. The property was close (approx. 10 minute walk) to main street of town, horseshoe bay, coffee shops, pub etc. It was not made clear that the property was on the bottom floor/underneath where the owners lived. This made the stay feel a little awkward and while they did not invade our privacy and had made the property very comfortable for visitors, there was an element of not being able to relax as much as we would have normally.
- Narelle (10/5): Exceptional -
- Pauline (10/5): Exceptional -
- Michelle (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was perfect. On arrival we were greeted with a delicious homemade slice and met our host who made us feel very welcomed.
- Peter (9/5): Very well appointed and comfortable lodgings. -
- Glenn (8/5): Very good -
