Guest Reviews

- Mikes56 (9/5): A lovely an interesting short break in an exuberant city - The property was very clean and well presented. It was comfortable and well equipped as a small apartment, having everything required for a short self-catering holiday. The host, Shirley, greeted us on arrival and was very helpful and friendly. We were able to contact him by phone during our stay. The property is a residential area, well away from the city centre and large hotels. Local people were friendly and welcoming.
We are vegetarians and were very pleased to find an excellent Plant based food trailer on Bay Street, Eleven Oh Seven. In the same area, Savvy On The Beach is an excellent Beach Bar which had live music on several nights during the week we were in Bridgetown.
We visited Holetown, The Barbados Animal Reserve, The Animal Flower Caves, Bathsheba Beach, Paynes Bay Beach and Oistins Fish Fry (on Friday). For these trips we mostly used the local “Reggae”buses which were cheap, plentiful and fun, although sometimes very crowded and nearly always noisy! It is about a 30 minute walk into the city centre, although buses are available nearby. The shower took a bit of getting used to, it was never very hot but was adequate considering the warm climate.
The official timetabled bus services were a bit unreliable; reggae buses often came when scheduled buses did not show up.
- Arthur (10/5): Marvellous stay - Very convenient for beach and downtown activities It was very clean, and fully stocked with all mod cons
- W (10/5): Exceptional - The manager Shirley was super helpful in particular in enabling us to leave luggage for a few hours after check out.
The apartment was within walking distance from the cruise terminal.
- Isabella (9/5): Superb - Very clean. Host was considerate and drove me to the shops to get food on arrival. Ideally the option of a slimmer pillow..
- Joan (8/5): Very good - The place was absolutely perfect. Very clean and the owner was hands on and friendly The only issue for me was that it was a little out of the way. Perfect if you have a car
- Eugenie (10/5): A little gem in a local Bajan neighbourhood - This little gem in Barbados is een excellent place to stay for a couple or solo travellers. I stayed here a couple of days to work remotely.
It was a cozy, colourful and good equipped accommodation. Especially the WiFi speed was excellent what I needed to facilitate online meetings.
The owner was very helpful and even drove me to a local cashpoint and shopping area. He also provided me with details of local taxi drivers.
This was a valuable service. I felt save and had a fabulous experience staying here. I definitely would come back for another stay.
There is a little “cornershop” nearby but if you stay longer than a couple of days it is worth to do foodshopping in a nearby supermarket.
And ofcourse it is a few streets away from Rhianna Drive! It isn’t anything I didn’t like, but a little spot outside in the courtyard with a sunscreen/parasol would have been a welcome thought, to enjoy the Barbadian rays of sunshine delights, during my breaks from work.
- Ruff (3/5): Ok location more value for price point - There was none No room service.only one set of sheets for 2 weeks
- Rae (9/5): Good choice for my stay, as it was with walking distance of my business venue - Kensington Oval - No breakfast was served. Kitchen was provided with the key utensils, accessories, and some food items. Convenient located washer outside the apartment. A/c provided. Comfortable bed with TV. Restful sleep every night. Quiet and safe neighbourhood. Adequate provision for work/study with wifi. Easy access to owner, if needed. Convenient, nearby disposal bin. Good supermarket (Jordan's) within fairly accessible location. The nearest supermarket / grocery was somewhat of a walking distance, and about 200 m did not have sidewalk. If taxi was taken, it was okay.
- Mark (9/5): A very enjoyable stay, in a great location, living almost like a local and surrounded by friendly helpful faces - Location, location, location (to Kensington Oval especially) and the friendliness of the owner and locals Could maybe do with door stop architrave so the faint hearted don’t panic when the wind blows the door ajar!
- Wattan14 (9/5): Superb -
- Catarina (7/5): Great value for money - Clean, kitchen fully equipped, with everything you need, good A/C, spacious, quiet at night
Nice beach near by, within walking distance It is a bit far from the center. No main bus line passes by, so you need to walk like 30 min to the center to catch the buses to the main places. Walk is fairly easy and safe. Alternative, there is a bus stop right next to the apartment that takes you to the center, but it is not super frequent
The outside common area is still under construction
- Janett (9/5): My stay was good, Shirley was very gentle and helpful, and the apartment was comfortable - The host was excellent. Shirley (a man) was an excellent host, since he was very helpful, and accessible. He helped my sister and I to find an honest taxi driver, and gave us some recommendations regarding places to visit (mainly restaurantes).
The apartment is located in the same neighborhood of the famous singer Rihanna, and I had the chance of take some pictures in front of her house, and in front of corner named Rihanna's Drive WITH Rihanna pictures and a decoration of her main famous discs.
People in the entire Island are educated and gentle. This island is prepared to received tourists and my sister and I felt safe all times. The location is a little far away form the main beaches and restaurants; then, everytime We needed to go to a restaurant we had to take a taxi, since the public transportation is not the best.
- Iyanna (10/5): Great stay - I like the amenities and the colour scheme of the apartment. The owner was super helpful.
- Hong (10/5): A different experience than just being a tourist! You will actually feel like a local! - The property owner was able to greet me at the door and even gave directions to the taxi driver over the phone to help him navigate to the property, even though my flight was over an hour late and arrived past midnight. He explained to me in detail every aspect of the property and its surroundings before he left for the night. This interaction and attention to detail was beyond my expectation.
Shirley is also available to answer whatever questions you have throughout the stay, as he has some other properties and business nearby, so you will have the opportunity to learn more about the area, the people, and the local stuff than your average peeps who only go to the beaches teemed with tourists and random people trying to sell you something. So in short, if you don't just want to be a tourist and get ripped off at the touristy places, you should definitely check out this place and experience the culture and people of Barbados in much more depth. Maybe only the location--Morris Road isn't the most friendly street to pedestrians, so if you don't plan to rent a car, you should be extra careful when walking down that street, just like the locals.
- Myst (10/5): incredible - clean and comfy
- Skaneil (10/5): Exceptional -
- Go (10/5): Exceptional - The room had everything you'd need and exceptionally clean. It is located in a great area, walking distance from the Rihanna drive, beautiful beaches and the Port.
The host was very nice and very easy to reach. We enjoyed our visit and definitely recommend this place!
- Charles (9/5): Superb - Very nice and cozy appartment! The kitchen was well equipped and Shirley the owner was cool and flexible. The only thing is that I thought it was hard to find, probably due to the fact that there does not seem to be any street numbers in Barbados! 😅
- Petr (10/5): great place. 3 roads down from the beach and famous Rhianna drive. walking distance to town. you cannot go wrong with El - Brand new place. We were the first guests. Landlord is so nice and helpfull with all our questions about surroundings area. nothing comes to mind
