- Adam (10/5): - Because of a last minute cancellation from the same apartment complex I booked I was lucky enough to book this unit last minute on my way to LA. The messenger who contacted me kept me well informed when the room was going to be ready so all I could do was wait until then. This unit was a better upgrade than the one I usually stay at and I will definitely want to continue booking this unit every year for LA Comic Con weekend.

- John (1/5): A cigarette smoke-filled nightmare that cost me hours of my life and $5,600+ in unrefunded costs for an uninhabitable ac - This property looks great in the picture—but beware the owners will lie about the condition of the apartment and keep your money. The property reeked of heavy cigarette smoke. It was uninhabitable. The owners (LALux) claimed we were lying and that no one had ever smoked there. Yet curiously, they had left the windows wide open and had placed odor absorbing cannisters in all of the rooms. I have signed letters from all four in our group attesting the reek of smoke. Still, LALux continued to claim that we were just imagining the cigarette smoke. They refused to allow us to cancel causing us to waste four hours with booking.com customer service and LALux. To their credit, Booking.com asked LALux to waive the cancellation fee, but LALux refused. LALux’s reluctant offer of an alternative property far from the convention center negated the whole reason we had booked this location. Oh, and we still haven’t gotten back our $300 security deposit (three weeks later) even though we could barely stand to be in the room for 10 minutes because of the smell. I was looking forward to staying at this property, and I’ve never been so disappointed in my life. Other issues you should consider before you book: Homeless people and the smell of urine outside the front door. A stoned security guard who reeked of marijuana at the entrance. Fast food smells down the long hallway to the apartment. A large barking dog in the apartment that went crazy every time you walked by. The jacuzzi overlooks a grafitti-strewn empty lot with homeless people. Later that weekend we ran into another ophthalmologist from the convention who was mugged right in front of the entrance. Pictures show garbage and homeless person in front of apartment, the view from the jacuzzi, and the stoned security guard. Faces distorted/blurred to protect anonymity
