Guest Reviews
- Lindsey (1/5): There was a yard full of dog mess, broken ac and windows. It’s right on a main road which is not in descriptionA complet - It was half an hour to the city centre on a train. Code changed and we couldn’t get in at 11:30pm.
Dog mess all over garden.
Rooms not as described.
Mould and holes in walls.
Host refused 50% refund saying I should have left on the first day to qualify.
It’s on a very busy main road.
Spa dumped in front garden next to broken bins attracting rats.
Exposed pipes and filthy seats that made my skin crawl. I have spent 2 weeks trying to get a refund - it was that awful.
- Roslyn (4/5): Would never stay there again - Location was excellent House was old and tired
Mattress were old and tired should have been thrown out years ago
House was not spotless needed a better clean
Price was way too high for what we got
We had another house 4 doors down for same price and it was like a resort !
- Stacey (5/5): Passable - The smashed glass, we had to sweep it all up as it was a hazard for our children and car park.
- Ryan (5/5): Good for large groups / party house - The firepit was good for entertaining. There was sufficient heating. The location was good. it would be good for a party house with a large group of people. The main bed was extremely uncomfortable, squeaky and uneven and we had to sleep in a bunk bed which was also very uncomfortable. There was broken glass scattered all over the front yard when we arrived. The shower head kept falling down. The place was fairly clean but there were cobwebs and dust throughout the house on top of furniture / appliances.
- Vanessa (3/5): Has potential but needs work to be safe and comfortable - can fit a lot of people (although one lower bunk is suitable only for a small child), the lounge was comfortable, 2 toilets, convenient location. Owner was responsive when I expressed concern that there were no smoke alarms at the property and had one installed (although when I tried texting her on the mobile she said she did not receive it- I ended up getting through to her via booking.com and she was then very responsive) The property has a lot of potential but there is urgent updating and investment required to make it a safe and comfortable stay.
Some of the issues included:
-Floor undulates and slopes so when lying in bed at night it was like camping on a hill
-Very uncomfortable mattresses (can feel springs) apart from back room
-Old upturned spa in front yard and shattered glass through the Astro turf
-Very lightweight gazebo in backyard not secured which the toddler could have knocked down, as well as an old wooden swinging bench that was half fallen over
-one aircon only blasted cold, using one air con in one room to turn up heat could then an aircon in another room off
-pipe hanging down from one bathroom with bucket below it on top of washing machine as if water might come through n the rain
-holes in the wall in one bedroom
-kitchen drawers have no stoppers so if you accidentally pull too hard or a toddler did it could smash to the floor
-no hand soap or detergent provided as advertised
-one shower head kept falling off
-a window in the living room which is permanently stuck ajar
-help yourself to complimentary fruit sign next to a fruit bowl with no fruit in it
-towels very thin
-not well soundproofed if you are a light sleeper (there was a clicking pedestrian light near the property which I could hear throughout the night
-no lid on main wheelie bin
-sensor light at front door (which is actually at the side of the house) only randomly works- when we arrived I was unknowingly walking through the shattered glass and past the upturned spa in the front yard trying to find where the entrance was.
We have stayed at Airbnbs and booking.coms around the world and don’t have high standards, but the above issues related to basic safety and comfort. Again, with work, this could be a great property.
- Bajrang (6/5): It was an okay experience. - The Location was good. The Heater was not working, the replaced portable heater was not enough for Melbourne cold.
