• Gidget69 (5/5): Great House but Disappointing Communication and Heating Issues - The house itself was lovely—clean, comfortable, and well-equipped. The bed was spotless and comfy, and the kitchen had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. Overall, it had the potential to be a very pleasant and easy visit. Communication with the owner was poor. We were given the wrong door code and had to wait outside in the cold until we finally received the correct one. Even more frustrating was the heating situation. The only source of warmth was a combustion heater in the lounge, which would have been fine—except there was no wood. I was told wood had been delivered the day before, but none was available at the house. I followed up again but received no response. With temperatures dropping to 4°C at night, we were left scrambling for scraps of wood and kindling, which was unacceptable. It’s a shame because the house itself was great, but the lack of support and heating made the stay far less enjoyable than it could have been.

• Rebecca (7/5): Good - The beds were extremely comfy, there was ample space, the beach was so close. The drive way will scrape your car, also it was wet causing me to skid on the gravel. It wasn’t that clean, pillowcases hanging on stair that obviously wernt dry. Dishes left in dishwasher. There was no firewood, no other heating so we were cold!

• Antony (5/5): pleasant stay but would have been better in warmer weather due to inadequate heating - The location was great and house was well appointed although a little maintenance is needed. Stair lights not working, hinge on kitchen cupboard broken. Not significant but annoying. Unfortunately the weather was extremely cold and the only heating in the house was a slow combustion stove that did not adequately even heat the living room, mainly due to the large glass area that had no curtains. A very limited supply of timber for the fire was provided

The steep driveway No heating through the home Couches were dirty Not enough firewood given for our 2 night stay we went through what was there in the first 1.5 days. Smelled like there was a gas leak, strong gassy smell. Not enough clean towels provided for the amount of people. We were reusing our used towels. The blinds in the lounge doesn’t draw they are just sitting on tracks which the blind fell off the tracks and almost hit my child when we tried to draw the blinds.

• Charlene (9/5): Lovely, comfortable stay at one of the most beautiful beaches in Australia! - Great location. The house itself is spacious and great for families. We loved the deck! Felt like we were sitting in the tree tops. Some cutlery was dirty. I guess it’s hard to check that all the cutlery and pots/pans are returned in clean condition. Maybe worth checking every now and then. BBQ might need a good scrub.

Good host, good amenities. - Good aspect to get the breeze, distant water views, lot of space, lots of basics provided. Advertised as metre from beach but furthest property from beach in whole town on road out. Very difficult driveway access. Gas was turned off so no hot water first night (owner had to come next morning). No instruction sheet so had to figure things out. No footpath and v dangerous narrow road unsafe to walk on. All the glassware had dead bugs in them.
• Annette (1/5): Had not been cleaned so we had to find alternative accommodation - Location was nice Unfortunately we arrived at the property to find it had not been serviced, dirty linen on the beds, piles of wet towels and generally unclean. Called and messaged the owner who did not return our calls or messages so after 2 hours we left and booked alternative accommodation. Tried the owner the following day and again left message but no reply although he did refuse our refund request. A call to booking.com customer services resolved the issue and a full refund was provided.
• Roberto (1/5): Dirty unacceptable for Australian health standards we have taken photos and videos at check in - Location The property had rat faeces downstairs on the lounge and in the kitchen cupboards. Downstairs smelt of animal urine. Downstairs bedroom the bed sheets were stained and had mould on them. The bed heads were thick with dust and had animal hair in the base of the bed.Downstairs the windows and blinds had dirt , dust and webs on them. The ceiling had spider webs as did the windows. The lounges were dirty and dusty they had food crumbs under them from previous guests. The barbecue was dirty and rusty. Upstairs was better and didn’t smell as bad but the bathtub was not clean and the carpets were stained. At check in when we inspected the property we contacted the host Steven about this he told us to leave and make other arrangements, which I accepted if he gave me a refund that afternoon so I could book other accommodation. Unfortunately there was no refund that afternoon and we had to stay there as I travelled 3 hours with a baby to get to this place. We asked him to send a cleaner he stated he couldn’t have a cleaner come that day as the cleaner was at a wedding and could arrange one the following day at 1 pm. The following day we were at the property at 1 pm sharp no cleaner came at 1 pm. Steven sent us a message at 12:54pm and said that the cleaner came but could not get in. We were at the house at the time Steve told us to be and no one came at 1pm. We tried calling Steve but he didn’t respond to our calls or text messages. We had no option but to stay in this place as we paid a lot to stay here. We mainly spend time upstairs and away from the property due to the issue’s downstairs.
• Hettie (8/5): We loved our stay at Hayms beach. Good venue and very comfortable beds! Clean and nicely decorated! - Comfortable beds, nice venue and big screen TV. Love the veranda and birds visiting No mesh in front of the windows at the upstair’s room that we could not leave the windows open at night. Very hot, no aircon to use at night. Could not open back sliding door and leave mesh door closed for handle prevent door to close. No fan in one of the rooms. A small milk would be appreciated for start when guess arriving late. A few cockroaches were roaming around.
• Anna (8/5): The property is beautiful, spacious and comfortable. We enjoyed our stay very much regardless. The owner was nice and fr - It was close to the beach, national park and shops. Wild parrots visiting the place, we enjoyed that very much. The beds were comfortable. Requires upgrade and clean in some areas of the house. The driveway may not be suitable for smaller vehicles. Dangerous reversing out of the driveway. Curtains for privacy at night, and also upstairs. The entire neighbourhood can see everything at night. Dinning stools were unstable to use. Bbq was dirty, not cleaned from previous use. Fly screens were torn, flies were coming in that we had to close the sliding doors when cooking. Outdoor furnitures were rough to sit on. Need to clarify the check-in & check- out time; cleaners were not cordial enough. We asked to check in from 11-12 noon which was granted by owner, cleaner was rude upon arrival.

• Simione (10/5): We really loved our stay. - The 🏠 is nice and clean. A good location next to the beach. Loved it. A good accommodation for family. Because of the sea breeze it really Cold at night. Would recommend taking extra warm clothes and a heater in one room for baby on winter.
