I am submitting a formal complaint regarding my recent booking in Milan and hereby demand both a full refund and compensation for the financial and personal damages incurred.
The accommodation provided was entirely misrepresented. Upon arrival, I found the apartment in unacceptable condition: dark, unpleasant, and with a strong, intolerable odor. These conditions rendered the property uninhabitable.
I checked in but was forced to vacate the premises within approximately 40 minutes. This can be verified by CCTV at the property and by reviewing my account activity, which shows my immediate need to secure alternative accommodation.
As a direct consequence of this misrepresentation, I incurred the following damages:
Payment for replacement accommodation on the same day
Double payment of city tax
Additional unplanned expenses (transport, time lost, logistical disruptions)
Significant stress and inconvenience caused by being left without a viable place to stay
This situation constitutes a clear breach of Booking.com’s duty to provide accommodations consistent with their advertised descriptions.
I therefore demand:
A full and immediate refund of the original booking amount,
Compensation for the additional costs and damages caused, and
Immediate removal of this property from your platform, as it is misleading and will otherwise continue to cause harm to future customers.
If this matter is not resolved promptly, I will escalate further by:
Filing formal complaints with relevant consumer protection authorities,
Publicly documenting this case across review platforms and social media to warn others, and
Pursuing legal action to recover all costs and damages.
I expect Booking.com to act responsibly and resolve this matter without delay. Please confirm the refund, compensation, and removal of the listing immediately.

There was dust all over the floor.
The sink was clogged and it became unusable throughout the stay we couldn’t wash up in it, we had to go to the kitchen to even brush our teeth.
The sewing smelled terrible.
There were broken handles of the cupboards in the kitchen
The cutting board was unwashed from the last visitors.
There was no bedding on the bed, everything was balled up and piled under a hanger. There was old gum on the railing.
There was dust on the railing.
There was no natural light due to the shutters being broken.
There was no toilet paper left for us.
The pillow cases had impurities on them.
The fan was broken
The toaster and the oven were dirty.
The key instructions weren’t correct.
There was no elevator which is not mentioned in the description and I visited after a knee surgery…
We contacted the owner and explained about the inconveniences… he just said sorry it is not as expected. We paid €400 to stay there to feel the atmosphere of Milan, because of the false pictures… We could have easily stayed in a hotel for the same price.
And on top of everything I received a charge today…!? For what?
This is absolutely unacceptable, I would like to request a refund full or partial, because the photos had nothing to do with the reality we were shown the at the false photos!

- Lucrezia (6/5): Dirty, and badly kept - The area is nice. I had dirty sheets, bottles from the previous stay under my bed. The bathroom sink was clogged, handles from the kitchen cupboard would fall apart, drawers would break when trying to open them. The area is nice.
