- Caitli (1/5): Wouldn’t recommend to anyone. Facilities are unfit for rent - We stayed at this property from 7th–11th February and unfortunately had a very poor experience from start to finish.
Upon arrival, the property was visibly unclean, with dust and dirt throughout. There was also a strong damp smell and visible mould. This was particularly concerning as mould was present in the kitchen area where food is prepared, and across the walls in the bathroom. These are not minor cosmetic issues but clear hygiene and health concerns that should have been addressed before the property was rented out. None of this was disclosed anywhere in the listing.
There are steep internal stairs with no handrail, which is a significant safety hazard. The only bathroom is located downstairs, meaning anyone needing to use the toilet during the night must use these steep stairs in the dark. This makes the property particularly unsuitable and unsafe for elderly guests or anyone who may need frequent toilet visits overnight. This is not something that can be properly appreciated from the photos and is not highlighted in the description.
There is no air conditioning upstairs. The unit downstairs does not reach the upper floor at all. Instead, there are ceiling fans which simply circulate warm air around the bedrooms. In hot weather, the upstairs becomes overwhelmingly hot and very uncomfortable to sleep in.
The second bedroom is very small and the floor is noticeably uneven, leaving the beds sitting at an angle, which is uncomfortable and gives the impression of poor upkeep.
Several appliances were also not working properly, including the toaster and grill, and the television quality was extremely poor. These issues suggest the property is not being maintained to a reasonable standard for paying guests.
The furniture throughout the property is old and heavily worn. What appears “quirky” and rustic in the photos is, in reality, battered wooden furniture that looks as though the paint has been stripped off and never properly restored.

- Ben (7/5): Great location, quiet street, good amenities; needs to few essential household items to complete. - Good location; walking distance to Darling harbour, local supermarket, restaurant, metro etc. Basic bedrooms but fairly comfortable beds. The photos defiantly make the place look better than it really is. The carpet is worn, out the back appeared quite unkept, parts of the downstairs floor felt very unstable. While there was enough glasses to provide drinks to the whole street, there was only 1 desert sized spoon and 2 odd teaspoons. The electric part of the oven does not function.

Cold at night (in July) for which we were advised to turn up heater overnight but a blanket would have been better solution and there was mountains of storage space in which to provide them.

Location was great with the fish market light rail stop within easy walking distance. There was too much light coming into the master bedroom from the street light outside.
The microwave was dirty and hard to reach.

Aircon was brilliant. Basic tea and coffee supplies would have been nice. Also some cleaning cloths to wipe down the benches and tables.
- Kala (9/5): Will recommend to friends! - The location, property itself and general method of the management (self serve mainly). It could have been cleaner. The only bathroom is on the first floor while the bedrooms are on the second. There could have been a backup method of communication with the management to relieve the stress of non-perfect email apps.
