Guest Reviews
- Shauna (8/5): It was passable, but expensive. - It was easy to get into. Very quiet. Bed was comfy. The one barn like room could have been cleaner. Lots of visable dust, ie light globes. The kitchen tidy bin obviously had the bin liner changed, but the bin itself was smelly. Every approach to it was high smell Ended up putting it out on verandah and taking smaller bags of rubbish out to it. Needed a good scrub and didinfect. Found a dirty tissue in between sofa cushion /seat
Was a bit exy for what we got. Hard to get TV onto free to air channels even with their written instructions
- Rozynski (9/5): - Very comfortable and perfect for a stay in Port Arthur. Good value for money
- Classygenes (10/5): -
- Peter (9/5): The Spectacular coast. - The location was excellent the local Bay Beach was so inviting and refreshing,my favourite part of our trip so far .
We are currently staying in a five star hotel which is quite nice, but my heart belongs in the rustic cabin and will remain there.
Cheers, Paddy melon poo .
And didn't see any Paddy melons . Maybe next time .
- John (9/5): Lovely property - Spacious and comfortable. Good furnishings and kitchen. Comfortable bed. Lovely outlook. Shower was more air than water.
- FAY (10/5): thank you so much - we stayed there before and we wanted to come back luv it so much noyhing
- Eric (10/5): Unique experience in centrally located, rustic, well-appointed and comfortable shed. - Great location, spacious, comfortable, unique concept and excellent hosts
- Paul (7/5): Relaxing Stay - The shed is spacious and feels warm and inviting, with a fully equipped kitchen and a comfortable bed. We I especially loved the little outdoor area—it was perfect for relaxing and enjoying nature. We really appreciated having access to a washer and tumble dryer during our stay—it made things very convenient.
We did find ourselves a bit confused about the lack of an ironing board, as only an ironing mat was provided, which wasn’t as effective. There seems to be enough space to accommodate a full ironing board, which would be a helpful addition.
We also found the TV manual a little difficult to follow, as it contains quite a lot of information. Simplifying the instructions could make it much more user-friendly.
Lastly, we noticed the space was a bit dusty in places, so a more thorough or regular dusting would really enhance the overall experience.
- JLS (6/5): -
- Linda (10/5): Warm, quiet and comfy. - Such a lovely quiet place. Plenty of space, warm, comfortable and with everything we needed for an overnight stay. Only a couple of minutes from Port Arthur historic site. All good.

- Tara (10/5): Very happy and comfortable - A sweet gem, so comfortable and homey with plenty of little extras that made all the difference and the little deck out the back was peaceful, also very near to Port Arthur Historic site. Nothing
- John (10/5): Mike and Sally went out of their way to help with my requests. Greatly appreciated. -
- Brigid (9/5): Perfect. Basic but extremely comfortable - The accomodation was basic but soooo comfy. Thanks for the washing machine, washing powder and dryer. We had everything we needed. We used a local transfer company to get around as we didn’t have a car.
- Angela (10/5): - Loved watching the wallabies in the evening.
Very comfortable space with everything we needed. A bit different to everywhere else we stayed. Close to the Port Arthur historic site.
- Rodney (9/5): Great choice in Port Arthur to stay - Loved the Shed theme, so nice to have a wood fire.
Really comfortable bed.
Very spacious inside area with all cooking utensils. Water saver shower head.
- Anthony (9/5): - Great location close to Port Arthur. The shed is set back from the road in a rural setting. It was the perfect end to the day to sit on the terrace as the sun went down, with a nice glass of wine, and watch the wallabies come out to graze in the field. Very relaxing.
- Daiana (10/5): Very good location, súper confort house. - The location was perfect, very quiet and very well equipped.
- Peter (9/5): -
- Janet (9/5): -
- Taryn (10/5): -
- Faye (10/5): Great location, wonderful self contained property, clean & comfortable. - Great location, private & surrounded by greenery, self contained, good value for money, contained everything necessary for a comfortable stay.
- Olivia (10/5): Wonderful and Peaceful - Location was gorgeous, so quiet. Super cute to watch the wildlife from the back porch and windows.
Loved having the fireplace, fully supplied with wood! We weren't sure if it was supplied so we purchased some before arriving and left the excess there for the next people to use. We did a full tour of tassie and this was a highlight to stay. Great location to stay near the port arthur historical site. I believe the fireplace didn't vent properly so the unit became semi smokey each night.
- tracey (9/5): Wonderful stay - Amazing little place. Very sheltered and has all the little thoughtful things that make it feel homey. Best beds we've experienced in our travels. Already booked our next stay. Only tiny thing was not enough kindling or firelighters for more than one night on chilly weather
- Dennis (9/5): - Home away from home and so cosy!
- Kathy (10/5): The Shed that is more than a shed. - Everything. This was probably one of the best places that we have stayed at in all our travels. Super comfy, great layout, so many extra provisions. Highly, highly recommend. Nothing to not like.
- Emily (10/5): -
- Jessica (10/5): - Just beautiful, open space! We loved the fire place. We also loved the homely touches, extra shampoo, blankets, pantry with food if you wanted to use, plenty the extras a home has. Didn't feel like we were away from home.
- Michael (8/5): A lovely homely and comfortable stay - Great location, Simple but very nice inside. A great view out of the back sliding door. It really is a great spot and well done to the hosts for pretty well thinking of everything. We really enjoyed everything, though one suggestion would be to provide the firewood cut a bit smaller. The large pieces were too big to burn easily, which made the fire a little disappointing.
- Joan (8/5): - Very well equipped, comfortable bed, quiet, lovely log fire. It was very cold when we arrived but once we got log fire going it quickly warmed up Nothing though a bit more information about how to do things would have been useful
- Feldmann (9/5): -
- David (8/5): A very comfortable and well appointed place to stay on the peninsula. - Very comfortable and had all we needed. Lovely cosy fire kept us warm. Ideally situated near the Port Arthur Historic Site, walking tracks and other attractions. Everything was as we expected.
- Donna (10/5): Excellent home away from home. - It exceeded all our expectations. The warmth of the fire and the heat pump to get the house warm whilst the fire was being started. The shower was great and the beds were not too bad. It was a very well stocked pantry and we were most impressed and excited when we noted they had hot chocolate for a non tea or coffee drinking family. It was close to everything in Port Arthur and eateries. N/A
- Andre (10/5): Fabulous relaxing stay, great space and everything you would need. So close to the port Arthur site, great value for mon - Exceptional stay. Lots of space, everything you would need, so close to the port Arthur site, great to have washing machine and drier. Nothing

- Susan (9/5): Definitely a gem - Yes it was a shed, but with all the home comforts. Al fresco area to watch the turbo chooks chase the pademelons. Laundry facilities much appreciated after six days hiking. Kitchen well equipped and extras in the pantry (herbs, oil, salt, pepper, rice, baking paper, cling wrap) a bonus. Excellent location. Although on the main road, well set back and quiet. Hard to see signs for entrance when driving
- Cathy (8/5): Location very handy - A good close location to Port Arthur
Wildlife outside Note from host to advise bring breakfast provisions would be useful
Local shop for provisions very expensive

Comfy beds, kitchen well stocked and perfect serene location.

Best decoration, everything is in place, many extra things like many packages of food and spices. Perfect location in Port Arthur. Five minutes from the entrance. Two minutes to supermarket and pizza . Just great!! Nothing!!!
- Julie (10/5): Exceptional - Plenty of room. Clean.
Pantry was stocked with spices, flour, olive oil etc.
Every thing you need to add the extras to a dish.
Washer and dryer included. Very handy when travelling Tiles a little bit slippery in the shower. But had a non slip mat provided

- Janyaporn (10/5): Exceptional -

- Judith (8/5): The Shed at Port Arthur - The lay out worked well for my self and daughter
Position was excellent There were no bad experiences
- Zoe (10/5): Very comfortable enjoyable stay - Lovely quiet place right off the main road, close to Port Arthur Historic Site and Stewarts Beach. Thoughtfully appointed with anything we could think of, toiletries, kitchenware etc. Nothing at all
- Alexandr (10/5): It is really a hidden gem very close to the historical sight, all amenities needed, very nicely designed and decorated s - Everything , location Nothing
- Curtis (9/5): Superb -
- Kelvin (8/5): Comfortable and very pleasant stay. Great for overnight or an extended stay. - I liked the room including the cooking facilities. The location of the accommodation was great. It was both handy to shops and set in a quiet picturesque area. It was also pleasing that laundry facilities were avaliable. It would have been beneficial had there been an iron and ironing board available. Aside from this I was pleased with all other aspects.
- Wendy (10/5): Would highly recommend !! - Warm, cosy , comfortable and homely, the Shed had everything we needed and only a five minute stroll to a lovely beach.
The wildlife pops by too!!
I’d highly recommend staying there! Nothing!
- Hannah (10/5): Exceptional - This place is beautiful and cosy in a great location for sightseeing, and you can even watch wallaby and native hens in the garden.
- Janine (10/5): We absolutely loved our stay & wish we had more time here to relax. That said even for one night it was magical - Everything - the ambience & vibe was so relaxing & lush, facilities & provisions were spot on Could not fault it
- Christina (10/5): Cosy relaxing - We loved the Shed! Such a comfy place to call home for a couple of days whilst visiting the Historical Site at Port Arthur which is literally in walking distance. We used the cosy fire and the cooking facilities which were great. Lots of games etc. We saw wallabees in the garden and Turbo Chucks crossed the garden too. Beds and sheets very good. Defo recommend. Nothing.
- Carol (9/5): Superb - Quiet and private. Lots of room. It had a washing machine. As it states it is a shed but done really well and we would stay here again. The inside kitchen bin hadn't been emptied and the whole bin needed a good clean.
- Tim (9/5): Superb -
- Sean (10/5): Exceptional -
- Donner (9/5): Superb -
- Sandra (10/5): Overall we loved staying here. Great location, good value for money, easy to find. - Such a cute little place, my favourite stay in Tassie so far. The wood fire was cozy and perfect while watching Netflix. Bed was comfy, there was a washer and dryer and a cute little verandah to relax on, great cooking facilities and the location was perfect being so close to everything. I did find locking the front sliding door when we went out sightseeing was hard to do so the lock may need replacing.
- Angus (9/5): wish we’d booked a longer stay - lovely self contained space well equipped with everything you need. very comfortable in a lovely rural setting
- Brian (9/5): Superb -
- Ruth (10/5): Perfect for our needs - Very well equipped and comfortable. Loved the fire as it was cold when we were there in the evenings. Nothing. Just sorry we had to leave a night early through sickness
- Robert (9/5): We loved it. Location was excellent with good views of the countryside. - Great location only 400 meters from a few shops and 1km from Port Arthur historic site.
Full facilities for cooking and washing and drying clothes.
Beds comfortable. Only heating was a small fan heater in bathroom, apart from a log burner fire.
In October it became a little cool in the evening but we could not justify lighting the fire.
- Ann (9/5): We stayed 2 nights to visit the Port Arthur site. The location was great and lovely to walk along the beach nearby. - It was very well equipped and comfortable. There were no problems.
- Julia (10/5): Exceptional - Such a well kept and spacious place. Was so lovely and everything was clean Nothing!
- William (1/5): We lasted for less than five minutes in there because of the wood fire smell. Very dissatisfied. - Nothing We walked in there and were immediately taken aback. The smell of wood fire was overwhelming. There was no way we could stay and sleep in there, and it would probably have got worse if we lit the fire. We opened the back door but it did nothing to help. We didn’t stay, we locked up and left. I doubt if the accomodation would pass an OH&S inspection.
As far as Hidden Gem , that is false advertising, the accomodation was very basic at best.
We think we deserve a full refund. Fortunately we found good accommodation a short drive from there.
- Colin (10/5): Awesome location. Everything you need is there. - Great communication. Awesome location. Everything you need is there. Everything works well. Bonus points for indoor and outdoor flip flops! Love the fireplace. The instruction to start the fire is clear. We would love to come back and stay anytime! Nothing
- Julie (9/5): Superb -
- Narelle (8/5): Very good -
- Craig (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was amazing. Loved the fire and the peaceful surroundings.
- Jennifer (9/5): Very happy with the accomodation, last minute booking. Extremely happy with the location. - Out early so breakfast wasn’t a factor. The weather, but with the fireplace, it was extremely warm and cosy.
- Pinder (9/5): Superb - Good location. Place was very clean and comfortable. Plenty wood supplied for fire which kept the whole place warm. Comfy bed. Overall everything and more for your stay. Would definitely recommend. Just a few small things
There was no chux wipes or kitchen paper which made keeping the kitchen clean as requested. Also only 1tea towel. The torch was a great idea to see visiting critters but unfortunately it doesn't charge. Also the microwave was dirty with food splatters inside we had to clean it. All small things which didn't spoil our stay but we could tell you guys care and would want to know.
- Mark (9/5): Superb - Fire place Lights are too low hanging above lounge chairs.
- Matthew (9/5): Superb -
- Lynn (10/5): Fantastic - We loved everything, comfy bed, the location, great set up, close to all out sightseeing plans, log fire, I coulld keep going but I’ll just say again Loved Everything. There wasn’t anything to dislike.
- Hayward (9/5): Superb - The Shed is a little hidden gem, away from lot's of people ✨️ The cold parts of the floor that didn't have carpet or mats
- Lynette (8/5): Very good -
