Guest Reviews
- Andrew (9/5): Bliss -
- Wendy (7/5): Fabulous secluded beach shack on the Bay of Fires location - The location is fabulous. In the heart of the Bay of Fires with beaches and lagoons to explore north and south. The property is a an old beach shack or cottage, which in itself is great. But it is a bit tired and could do with a bit of maintenance and a really good clean.
- Ben (9/5): -
- Eva Theresa (10/5): Einfach nur perfekt! - Wunderschön, liebevoll eingerichtet! Sehr ruhig gelegen! -
- Tracie (8/5): - Peaceful and relaxing
- Georgia (4/5): Unfortunately not the deep relaxation we had in mind - The property was in a magical location and the beach directly in front was just stunning. We enjoyed the board games and puzzles on the rainy days. We were really looking forward to disconnecting and dipping into deep relaxation at this property but it just didn’t happen. Unfortunately there was a pest issue in the roof which kept us awake each night which led to back and forth emailing with the property manager so they could set up baits and traps. This stay ended up being incredibly exhausting for us and certainly did not lighten the mental load like one would hope on a holiday.
- Crawford (7/5): - Location The bathroom facilities were basic but the cleaning wasn’t good
- John (5/5): Great location. but should be upfront about Tank Water only and No mobile reception, - Great location. Beds and linen were good. Cleanliness wasn't great, sand was swept under the carpet, and it was somewhat dusty. Didn't live up to the images on the Booking website. A power outage on Thursday meant no water! Should be upfront about Tank Water only and no mobile reception.
- Lauren (9/5): We loved it - Location location location! Beautiful home Mattresses weren’t the best especially in the bunk bed room.
- Di (8/5): Great location and so beautifully quiet - It has everything we could need and that was appreciated! Initially it felt a bit tired but we got well used to it.
- Peter (10/5): -
- Peter (9/5): Nice location and perfect for a relaxed stay. - Great location and old charm Very small rooms, our teenage kids had to share a room just so we could have a room to open our suitcases.
Bathroom is also the storeroom. Which was a mess and needs better organisation.
Cleaners need to do a better job. In kitchen area and cobwebs.
- Stephanie (10/5): -
- Isaac (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lisa (9/5): Peaceful and cozy, great place to relax and unwind. - Amazing location if you would like to get away from it all. The nearly private beach is absolutely beautiful and worth staying just for that alone. The Gardens is a few minutes drive down the road and about 15 mins drive to St Helen’s.
Well equipped kitchen and quirky but very good size bathroom, including body was, shampoo, conditioner, and hair dryer. There is also a washing machine and laundry liquid. The lounge room is very cozy and comfortable. Lounge room
had a combustion wood fire ready for us, but we didn’t need it. Great outdoor area with bbq. Would definitely stay there again. Bedrooms are small and the beds could be more comfy. However nicely presented and perfectly workable.
- Laura (9/5): Perfect Hideaway - Fantastic location next to a stunning beach! The cottage was bright & cozy and had everything we needed.
- Gregory (9/5): Very satisfying stay. - Great location A little expensive, but good value fur a location that is always at a premium cost.
- Phil (9/5): Superb -
- Simon (10/5): Absolutely wonderful! - Lovely cottage, amazing location N/A
- Ryan (1/5): Would not recommend. - All round bad experience, would not recommend. We arrived to rubbish left at front door, a broken mattress left in the hallway that we had to move to enter, the cottage smelt terrible, the wifi did not work and there was no phone service to call anyone. Arriving in the late afternoon to a remote stay, it was dusk when we had to drive back to nearby town to contact booking.com. After having to find alternative accommodation, booking.com requested a refund for our stay at Sloop Cottage on our behalf and the owners refused.
- Sandi (9/5): Superb - This property is so gorgeous. It was cosy with the fire going. We had a lovely walk along the beach it is remote and quiet.
- Lyn (9/5): Superb - If you are after a quiet location away from the rat race, this is for you. We received clear instructions on how to get to the cottage and suggestions re food etc. Everything was perfect.
- Jennifer (10/5): Wonderful location. So restful just reading by the fire in the cosy cottage. - Location is superb!
- Alta (8/5): Relaxing - Na Na
- Marcel (9/5): Superb -
- Michelle (10/5): Fantastic, this is a wonderful property for a family. - This place was the highlight of our trip to Tassie - we only stayed 2 nights and we all wished it was longer. Location, cool beach vibe
- Emma (10/5): Exceptional -
- Adam (7/5): I had a nice few days in the area very quiet - Location Phone service
- Everett (10/5): Exceptional -
- Carolynne (10/5): A great place to stay. - A proper shack fitted out with all the comforts you need. Well set up and maintained while retaining some of the original features. A minute walk to the beach.
- Lisa (10/5): A relaxing beachfront cottage that was very comfortable and we would definitely stay here again! - Great location. House had a good layout and was well equipped and also cozy.
- Naomi (9/5): Wonderful time, would definitely book again and stay longer! - The location was absolutely fabulous with such convenient access to the inlet, beach and gorgeous rocks formations. Beautiful quiet location.
The living area was bright and airy and very comfortable with lovely large dinning/kitchen table perfect for playing the supplied board games.
A good number of saucepans and plenty of plates, bowls and cutlery.
Lovely addition of shampoo, conditioner and body soap in the shower. Loved the hot water bottles and lovely to have a hairdryer that works well.
Large deck with seating and a table out the front which was great. The oven takes forever to cook anything or maybe it’s just because I’m used to a fan forced oven. A little inconvenient to have the toilet in the same space as the bathroom especially with a family of four.
- Trevor (10/5): Exceptional - Such a cosy, relaxing, quiet place with lovely history in a beautiful part of the world. Plenty of basics in the cupboards.
We found it hard to leave.
- Alicia (10/5): Fantastic property, great location and easy, relaxing stay! Thankyou! - Fantastic property, great location and easy, relaxing stay! Thankyou!
