Guest Reviews
- Sharna (10/5): Comfort excellence, atmosphere was serene - Beautiful home, made feel like home away from home, very well thought out Nothing to make our stay better
- Kathleen (8/5): -
- Karen (6/5): Quirky. Value. Close to airport - Good for shared couples - not young children or elderly (steps). - There was plenty of space, a full kitchen, convenient access to shops, the airport and our hire car depot. Having free parking was very much appreciated (despite the very steep driveway and having to share with another vehicle). Our toddler loved watching the fish in the inside/outside fish tank. We left an important item behind and our friendly host returned it via post for which we were very grateful. Lots of steps inside and out. The property was not particularly suitable for our young toddler (no block out curtains and lots of breakable decor items within reach), however there was a cot available which was a bonus. The bathrooms were very 'quirky' with steps. Some of the internal wooden doors couldn't close fully.

- Jesse (10/5): - Lovely vibe, and tranquil Nothing
- Campbell (8/5): Eclectic groovy place to stay, good aircon, helpful hosts - Clean, quirky
- Leonie (8/5): Bamboo House has a lot of character. Close to train station and airport. Hosts were very kind and helpful. - Location, good hosts, spacious
- Alina (10/5): - We loved the place! On the arrival there was a bottle of wine waiting for us together with an outstanding bouquet of fresh flowers! Very impressive! The place was cosy and comfortable, so spacious and full of light. The balcony is just great and we enjoyed breakfasts with a view every day we stayed at the place even when it rained!
A special bonus was the beautiful well taken care of cats which made the palace feel very homey đ
Plus the pantry was full of groceries!

- Kaspars (8/5): - AtraĆĄanÄs vieta, telpu plaĆĄums. SalÄ«dzinot ar apkÄrtÄjo vidi, mÄja atrodas pacÄlumÄ.
- Jenny (5/5): Not for me due to the steep incline to reach property. - Comfortable, value for money. Lots of space. Comfortable beds. Accessibility was very poor. Property is on a very steep drive-way, which then has additional stairs and steep footpath. Not user friendly for anyone with a mobility issue or for the elderly. This should really be specified when advertising this property as you almost need a donkey to get into the property.
- Lini (10/5): Excellent location, very close to the airport. The home is spacious, clean, and well-maintained. - Host was exceptional!! Amazing and went out of the way to welcome.
- Geoff (10/5): Very comfortable property with easy transport to Sydney - The property is close to the airport, supermarket and public transport to get into the city centre. Our host was very friendly and was happy to help with information and advise about the local area. We hope to visit again when we are next in Sydney. Nothing

- Emma (9/5): Hospitable host in a great place with everything we needed thank you. -
- Rachel (9/5): Iâd definitely stay again when needing easy access to the airport. - The property was lovely with lots of character and charm. The house was light and breezy and comfortable for my family of five. It very close to the airport which was perfect for our stay.
- Asha (10/5): We really enjoyed our stay at the Bamboo houseâplenty of extra bed facilities. My friend and family joined us for one ni - Beautiful garden The driveway is steep, but there is plenty of parking on the street
- Sarah (10/5): Excellent customer service and a lovely place to stay. - Great value for money and excellent location for easy access to the city centre and airport - just a short walk from the nearest Metro stop.
- Elizabeth (8/5): - The host was super responsive and kind! The beds were very comfortable. The koi pond was fun!
- Mahesh (10/5): - Decoration
- SUZANA (9/5): - Payam is a great host. Great communication throughout. Location is great, especially for families, and is close to some delicious charcoal chicken and the train station! A bit too many breakable objects.
- John (8/5): -
- Maja (9/5): - Very nice hosts and a beautiful comfy special house. The most charming is the koi pond!
- Rosa (9/5): It was perfect for us. - It was roomy. Outdoor decking was amazing for our evening gathering. Host knew we wanted to get in earlier and they phoned me as soon as the room was ready. Only one bathroom.
- Peter (8/5): -
- noreen (9/5): - It had everything we needed and was very comfortable, close to city . Travelled with my elderly aunt and uncle and it was situated very high up on a hill ,not ideal , wouldn't recommend it for older people ,but I would definitely stay again if it was just me
- Rebecca (10/5): -
- Sally (8/5): -
- Andrew (9/5): Very comfortable and convenient for proximity to airport big enough for a large family. - A very generous and quirky place. Clean and tidy with all the space you could want. Really suited us for the location with regard the Sydney airport.
Highly recommended

- Abishek (10/5): Responsive host and nice view from the room. - The facilities here were really great. Our family had a wonderful time staying here. You do not need to worry about parking here and the proximity of this place from airport is really close, so had easy drive to the airport early in the morning. N/A
- JUDY (10/5): -
- Christan (9/5): Superb -
- Amberli (8/5): Nice but hard walk up hill - Manager was kind and helped us get our luggage up the stairs. How steep of a hill it is on. The photos do not do justice to just how steep it is!
- Prasad (9/5): Superb - Location was great- close to the airport and Newtown; and easy to access CBD , easy to exit Sydney towards Canberra.
The views from the house were fantastic, the rooms and beds were comfy, linen was clean. Pantry was stocked with basics including milk.
The gardens were spacious ,my kid had a great time exploring in the garden.
We had our small dog, the balcony was secure enough for her, the views of the cats and birds kept her entertained!
Communication was timely, easy and simple.
Parking was a big plus - usually in Sydney we hardly get easy parking. This place had its own parking plus there was very easy available street parking.
Highly recommended for families with kids and pets looking to stay in Sydney.
- Keson (9/5): Lovely house, close to the airport, comfortable enough for 5 adults and 3 kids. - The house was clean and well-maintained, with full facilities. Our host Payam was on-site and very kind, assisted us in deconflicting a parking issue with the other guests - There are actually 2 properties in the same house and one long driveway, and we needed to leave very early for a morning flight but were boxed in. The property itself is really close to the airport and was very comfortable for 5 adults and 3 kids. No issues other than the very minor point that parking is slightly tricky, the other guests shared that they struggled to find streetside parking and had no choice but to join us in the driveway, which made it tricky when we wanted to leave before them as we were boxed in. Otherwise it was a great stay!
- James (10/5): Look no further, book this one for your Sydney stay - An absolute delightful house. Payam went out of his way to make sure every question was answered and every need was met. The house was exquisitely appointed and quite relaxing and comfortable. I cannot say enough about what a great find this house was. Absolutely not one thing
- Holley (8/5): Very good - Very homely and comfy great communication would definitely stay again thanks for having us Not really anything to complain about
- Roxanne (9/5): Perfect and comfortable for our overnight stay đ - Pet Friendly
Close to airport
Great communication with the Host
- Sujan (10/5): We had a great time. The atmosphere and property was modern and welcoming with all facilities and amenities. It was an e - I liked the facilities and amenities. And Payam was very kind and hospitable.
- Thi (5/5): Passable -
- Daniel (10/5): great location great house - great place to stay, would definately stay again only issue was a plague of little german cockroaches, pest control specialists could easily fix this issue
- Murphie (6/5): Quirky accommodation for a big group - The house is quirky and fun, if a bit overcrowded with 'stuff'. The fish tank is sensational. Beds are comfy and the communal dining space is great. The bottle of wine and milk in the fridge was a nice bonus. The house is on the train line, so I imagine front bedrooms could have been a bit noisy for those sleeping in them. The parking is really on-street only, and there is limited space at the front. The driveway up to the accommodation is VERY steep, and this should be noted for those with limited mobility and/or heavy baggage. The kitchen also needs a good clean, though the rest of the house was fine.
- Debra (10/5): Created beautiful family memories with this Stay. - Bamboo House was just perfect for our stay. Grandma and Parents and 3 grandkids catchup!
Beautifully decorated - felt so âhomeyâ and we wanted for nothing- very well equipped.
We travelled by train into the city for a day- a convenient location to trains.
Our Host was respectful and helpful. He drove me to the station on my departure - so appreciated!
We will be back!
- Shelley (9/5): We were super happy with the location and the host, the accommodation had everything that we needed - The host was the best, great communication, very friendly and accommodating to all our needs:) Wifi was a bit patchy but I understand that this is quite common in Australia, sofa bed is best suited for children.
- Oliver (8/5): Very good -
- Arpan (10/5): Peaceful, cozy and a home like vine, Will be back again - Feel like home environment
- Max (10/5): Exceptional -
- Levent (5/5): Passable -
- Jasmine (9/5): Relaxing, quiet and peaceful stay, highly recommend - The property was extremely relaxing, we felt comfortable and there was plenty of room for our group of 7 There was no sofa beds, just a lounge that doesnât fold out and a stretcher single bed (this was comfortable tho)
- Cassandra (10/5): Loved the place will definitely book again. - Loved the plants furniture the whole atmosphere was amazing! There lounge space was not enough for 8 people
- Hannah (9/5): Superb - Excellent apartment. Very quirky. Comfy beds. An easy train ride into the city.
The kids loved playing with the kittens downstairs.
Andrew was a lovely host. Could do with a few more mugs. The futon needs replacing, it's basically sitting on springs!
Other than that, it was a nice place to stay.
- Kasper (8/5): Very good - Lovely place with a lot of space. Dispite the location close to roads, airport and trains it was very quiet. Pet friendly
- Stephen (8/5): We would happily stay here again. - Spacious, airy, lovely outlook, well presented with potted plants and garden, effective air conditioning. We loved the decor and were instantly comfortable. Short walk to shops and train station. Very convenient to the Airport. The host was very friendly.
- Loan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Craig (4/5): Disappointing - The location we good, nice and close to the airport. The house has a very steep driveway that wouldn't be suitable for people that have mobility problems. The house is a strange mix of modern Asian art and 19th architecture. It could do with a very good clean, especially the bathrooms.
- Rowan (8/5): Very good -
- Andrea (10/5): We booked the Bamboo house at the last minute after our flight was canceled and we are so happy it was available. It was -
- Michelle (8/5): Very good -
- Emma (10/5): My family of 7 stayed for one night, we arrived late due to time of our flight and the owner was very accommodating. Clo - Close to the airport
- Sophie (3/5): Poor - The house is big and well equipped.
The bottle of prosecco left in the fridge. The owner, Andrew, is not welcoming.
Our flight was cancelled last minute (as we were boarding the aircraft to Sydney). We told the owner straight away and he didn't seem to care much. He said that those kind of things happen to him too but he deals with the consequences and that "since it is not cancer he moves on"...
The few points given to this place is because he accepted in the end to move the booking to the following day (since it was not rented).
The checkout is too early at 10 am and asked if we could stay a little bit longer (even 30 minutes longer) but the answer was no (very nice of him since he knew about all our flight issues). We came from Europe through Brisbane and were exhausted from the trip.
The house is old with weird decoration (skulls under the TV, covers over the sofa and the chairs to make sure they don't get dirty...). Again very welcoming... and as a cherry on the cake, there are like 10 placards around the house and outside asking to be quiet for the neighbours. I believe one would have been enough...
It would be nice to mention that 6 + cats live in front of our house. My partner is allergic to cats and we couldn't enjoy the garden.
One of the rooms was not usable (AC unit broken down and cold at night).
The owner wrote to us at 7 am in the morning about the Internet not working in the other units, as if it was our fault...
Very pricey for what it is. Would definitely not come back again.
- Suman (8/5): Very good -
- Amanda (8/5): Would definitely stay again. - Kids loved feeding the fish. Owner/manager was very helpful and kind. Air conditioning worked great. Kitchen had everything we needed. One of the bedrooms had glass in the door, which made privacy a bit tricky with a big family staying.
- Jason (9/5): A great place for a large group to use as a base in Sydney - As a large group attending a concert at the Sydney Football Stadium this was a great base. Only 15 to 20 minutes drive to the tram and then two stops to the SFS.
There were lots of space for the six teenagers in our party. The two houses were in good condition.
The free parking was an added bonus. The light switches were a bit hard to find in the houses.
The house is up quite a hill and reversing the car out wasn't that easy.
- Momena (8/5): Very good - Bathroom doesn't have door which was bit uncomfortable
- Kathryn (8/5): Very good - Great location. Friendly hosts. Loved it.
- Kasey (6/5): Pleasant -
- Sue (8/5): Comfortable & clean accomodation. Beautiful & interesting decor. - Location. Gardens. Furnishings & decor. Bedding. Mattress too firm.
- Yi (9/5): Superb - Spacious and comfortable. The host is very friendly. A nice stay for family.
- Ken (9/5): Non-stressful place to stay in Sydney with a pet - House is tucked away from the street, has loads of character, nicely furnished with lots of plants, spacious, and has pretty much everything one needs. Perhaps slightly expensive, although a nice place like this that you can share with your dog is uncommon in Sydney, and therefore worth it especially if you have a pet.
- Sandra (7/5): Enjoyable but also disappointing - The two different houses was convenient. Close to airport. Very nice art work. Nice veranda in the unit. Host was very friendly. Sorry but for the amount of money we payed for three days definitely well over priced for what we got. Firstly needed to ask for linen for couch beds but they were not couch beds, pieces of foam folding out. The beds in unit were very hard to sleep on and only 2.5 bedrooms not three. One room no windows and curtain for door. This was right by bathroom. All doors had glass in them , very nice but not for bathrooms. Very noisy area with planes and trains going till early hours morning and trees full of Ibis which were extremely noisy. For what we payed we were very disappointed about comfort bedding extra and one bathroom wasnât even usable for showers as hardly any water coming out. Host was apologetic and even gave us bottles of wine but this didnât really help with my sleeping at night.lots of potential for the buildings as they were nice just need better organisation and toppers for bed comfort. We enjoyed our stay but wasnât what I expected for the money we payed
- Leigh (3/5): Very disappointed, the entrance has 3 flights of steps which are dangerous in wet weather - Very little In poor condition, needing a lot of refurbishment
- Chris (9/5): Lovely house in a super convenient location - Fantastic location very close to train station, airport and shops! The koi tank was a real feature it was very relaxing watching them! Was a little confusing finding the accommodation when we arrived at address- there are a few occupied areas of the house however we found the correct door eventually!
- Debra (8/5): Very good - The apartment was close to everything that we did. The grounds are beautiful, and the host was very friendly. A very nice man.The apartment had all the amenities required for a great stay. The only thing was that one of the mattresses was too firm. For one of our group membersThe other beds were ok.
- Tory (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rebecca (10/5): Exceptional - Spacious property, with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Quiet location. Close to public transport.
- Jessica (9/5): Superb - Hosts were very helpful and accommodating of requests.
- Sarah (10/5): Exceptional - We had a amazing stay. Accommodation is close to the train station and airport.
- Raphael (9/5): Excellent stay - Very convenient location for car and train. The appartement is very cosy and full of surprise with a rich decoration. The rooms are clean and the kitchen fully equipped. Great terrace we couldn't use because of rain. The host was very friendly, reachable and helpful.
- Backhouse (9/5): A unique stay in a convenient location - Very unique style Most bedroom doors have lovely stained glass doors however they are very see-through and donât give much privacy
- Graeme (7/5): Good - The owner was very friendly and couldn't do enough for us The bed in one of the rooms was a bit uncomfortable
- James (8/5): Very good -
- Thomas (10/5): Convenient, close to the airport, helpful manager, and comfortable and spacious. - Spacious, clean, comfortable. Manager was very helpful even though we booked at very short notice late in the night due to a diverted and cancelled flight, and also provided us with space in which to wait for our relief flight. Nothing
- Dave (10/5): Payam is a fantastic host & its a wonderful experience -
- Gloria (6/5): Pleasant place to stay, quite quirky but we enjoyed it. - Location and access to trains etc. nice to stay in a house with a lovely garden. No real contact with anyone. Challenge working out light switches etc, no clear instructions
- Heather (9/5): Superb -
- Anonymous (9/5): Superb -
- Niomi (10/5): Exceptional - Quirky and fun Nil
- Deanna (10/5): Exceptional - Great location, close to shops, central city , train station and airport. House has some neat artifacts, plenty of space and well equipped. Highly recommend for group or family accommodation. Definitely would stay again without hesitation.
- Lee (6/5): Pleasant -
- Gould (10/5): Exceptional - A great home away from home! Family friendly and clean.
