Carole (4/5): Deception and Police investigation - We liked the location BUT this room was in the building next-door to the building we booked. This is why we are not giving a good review. The stress we felt when we received a what's app call telling us that we had to change location was huge as it was just days before we were to arrive & it was not exactly correct. The owner stated that we had to change building & room because the rules had JUST changed re: short term stays, but the rules were changed in accordance to Notice 276/2B/UBND and the owners were notified of the change on December 20th, 2024. The owner told me she hadn't had time to change the information on Booking.com but the notification was posted to owners before we even booked! You can 'Google Search' the article in "Vietnam Law" magazine for details on short term stays in residential buildings. We would have liked to stay in a room that we actually booked. We tried to get in touch with Booking.com to confirm the change but their number in Australia has been disconnected. We were also extremely shocked and distressed when the POLICE came on the last Saturday night of our stay and interviewed us about our stay & demanded to see our passports! It was quite late at night, and we were not well dressed as we had been in bed watching TV. The police explained that we were not actually in trouble, but they took a statement from us about our stay & noted that the owner had registered us at the address for 12 days longer than we were actually staying there for. We feel like we were scammed, the police & local authorities were being scammed, and Booking.com & future customers are being scammed. We found the dishonesty to be the most stressful part of our trip to Ho Chi Minh City.
Fabian (1/5): - Nothing, completely scam! It’s a scam, it doesn’t exist and they gave us the wrong location and nobody responded, when we wanted to check in.
Laura (1/5): Did not stay, fake apartment, Scam! - We did not stay at the property because it was a scam. They gave us the wrong address and then to find it we searched the city. eventually we got to the location and they said they didn’t have our booking, and pretended to find us other accommodation until we cancelled and found our own.
