Guest Reviews
- Nauman (9/5): - Good location and quite spot A bigger king size bed would be better
- Anne-Marie (9/5): Centrally located with inconvenient check-out process - The apartment was indeed spacious with a good view of the hills/mountains. It was also centrally located and within walking distance to Canberra Centre and bus interchange.
We did not mind the key pick-up process as we drove and got there very late at night - street parking was easy at the time. And I think they changed the mattress - there had been several comments of how bad the mattress was but we didn't have the same issues. The mattress was very comfy :) The check-out was inconvenient. The fob key is required to open the gates of the parking in both directions. So we drove to the gates, swiped the key, then I had to get out of the car while my husband drove away looking for street parking. In the meantime I went back inside the building, took the lift up to the 7th floor to leave the key on the kitchen counter. At least allow the guests to drop the key in the letter box!
Also the fact that we were given only one set of key/fob made things difficult getting around or in/out the building when we wanted to do different things.
- Rosemary (9/5): - Great location. Spacious and comfortable I didn't realise there would be stairs. At my age, that was a little tricky. That was the only minor issue though
- Howard (7/5): Not great. Don’t recommend! - Laundry was disgraceful! Washing machines leaked all over bathroom floor. Dryer didn’t work unless it only 3 pieces of synthetics in it!
Floor in and around washing machine was filthy. Notified management of WM issues but no response! Happy to take extra money to gain access an hour earlier than normal check in but deaf when it came to other issues.
- Mark (8/5): Great location just needs a few tweaks for services - Location and size Collecting of keys so far away from property when you have luggage and not driving.
Also, aircon in bedroom would help
- Jennifer (7/5): Mostly great - Disappointed in the bed linen. Cheap and nasty pillows. Only a doona with old cover. No top sheet. The bedroom was hot. Everything else great
- Samantha (8/5): Very good -
- Fieldhouse (6/5): Pleasant - Poor upfront communication, the check in app only half worked. Broken air conditioner, so very hot and stuffy
- Elaine (8/5): Large apartment in a convenient location - The property was quite spacious and the bedroom was away from the kitchen area if there was any noise happening in the kitchen .The bathroom /laundry was also spacious making it easy to use the laundry facilities . They didn’t provide enough kitchen utensils and equipment. We were staying here for two weeks and it certainly lacked proper items for cooking . The bed was extremely uncomfortable and we struggled most nights . There was a plastic cover over the bed but no mattress protecter and the mattress did not have a soft topper .
- Ja (10/5): Exceptional - The exceptional assistance from the host.
- Mohan (8/5): Stay was great, but have not received deposit refund. - No breakfast - loaction good There should be some written guidance on how and where to collect the keys.
- Wyatt (2/5): Very average - Dishwasher did not work, tv plug kept falling out, no third bed, unlocked door and dangerous building materials on balcony for whole stay.
- Joan (7/5): Clean and well located but basic add ons - Location Scaffolding on balcony
Absolutely minimal extras like quality coffee
Having to collect keys some blocks away
No guidance as to what level my apartment was on
- Calvin (3/5): Poor - Location TV in the lounge didn't work. Couldn't use the balcony because of the scaffolding for major exterior work. The front door does not latch properly and can be left unlocked accidentally. The sliding door to the balcony is heavy and worn. 2 separate internal stairs no good for elderly or disabled. Instructions to pick up keys unclear and if at night unsafe in back alley. Sarah unfriendly, no help.
- John (8/5): Good but should have been price discounted due to worksite feel and loss of privacy. - Location.on and spaciousness. Workers on the balcony and cut off any views.
- Robert (9/5): Lovely apartment, very clean, great location close to everything, would book again for sure. -
- Malcolm (9/5): Superb - Great apartment The method of key pick-up was not made apparent before non-refundable booking was made (had to get keys from a different location0.
No hand towels provided.
- Marty (8/5): Very good -
- Fiona (10/5): Exceptional -
- Margie (8/5): Very good -
- Alexandr (8/5): Very good -
- Ho (9/5): Superb - near property has a very friendly cafe
- Mckinley (9/5): Superb -
- Diljinder (9/5): Superb -
- Rochelle (10/5): Exceptional - Great location. Easy to get to and had parking
- Lena (5/5): Passable - Location
- Aline (8/5): Very good - Apartment is clean and well equipped. Everything is in good condition! The apartment building is under construction outside (nothing wrong with it), so creates a bit of noise directly in front of the bedroom starting early, but people have been responsive, so managing is good!
- Dr (8/5): Major building work re-cladding underway but lovely flat though Citi Stayz problematic. - The Avenue is a well-managed block in a good central location situated between the main shopping precinct and ANU, enabling easy walking to both. The communal areas are kept clean and tidy. The communal garden is very well tended. The pool is delightful to use. It is heated, though slightly on the cool side, but very enjoyable. The flat I was in was spacious and very clean with very pleasant views and visiting Cockatoos some evenings. The building manager, Peter Douglas, was fantastically helpful. The block was friendly and safe feeling. The bathroom contained both a washing machine and dryer. I’d have liked a veg steamer and a colander, but there were just enough implements to cook basic meals. I found the desk helpful, as this was a working trip for me. The bedroom faces onto the main street, so there is some noise, but all in all it’s a lovely flat. This was my first really bad experience of using Booking.Com, which I have used before many times. I reduced the length of my stay by one night, yes reduced. The booking was 5,050 dollars and after I reduced the length of my stay by one night the price changed to 5,445! Yes, nearly a 400 dollars increase for reducing the length of stay for one night! Furthermore, this was the first booking I have ever made which could not be cancelled (previously I have booked cancellable venues). So I was trapped in this booking, facing this very unjust increase in price. I was very upset. (I had assumed quite reasonably they’d knock something off the price, since I made the reduction so far in advance). ‘Citi Stayz’ which manages the apartment told me it was an algorithm and nothing to do with them! But being locked into a booking and then being subject to an unjust increase of this nature must surely be unlawful? I don’t know what to think. I am just reporting the facts. I sent several complaints to Boooking.Com and got my original price reinstated, but I found the process distressing. Beware venues that cannot be cancelled. Secondly, check-in was confusing, as I got a message that ‘the keys must be collected from our real estate office’ from Citi Stayz, so I was looking for an office. There is no office! It is a fiction. Luckily for me the block building manager Peter Douglas was able to assist me, otherwise I don’t think I’d have worked out that the keys are in a lock box on an unprepossessing disused plot some distance away! Citi Stayz wouldn’t drop them off, even when I explained I’d just endured long haul from England and was absolutely exhausted – very unimpressed with their communication and attitude. When I got in and found the Internet not working I had another weird communication with Citi Stayz. Sarah was adamant that the wi-fi was located in the lounge rather than the bedroom and just contradicted me until I photographed the thing in situ! Avoid Citi Stayz!
- Deborah (10/5): Exceptional - Was a beautiful place,we where very happy with everything thanks The steps I'm not very fit. Lol 😆
- Gagandeep (8/5): Very good -
- Anonymous (9/5): Superb -
- Jacob (8/5): Very pleasant stay in Canberra, close to shops and restaurants - Great location, close to nice areas in Canberra. Modern apartment with a nice living and kitchen space, and decent wifi. Good for both cooking at the apartment or eating out. The bedding was very basic, only a thin quilt and pillows.
- Yuanyuan (7/5): Good -
- Rose (7/5): Beside the mattress everything else was really great - Location Mattress was shocking. It was very soft I struggled to sleep.
- Jason (8/5): Very good - Location, cleanliness. The toilet leaked a bit and the noise of it refilling every couple of minutes kept us awake the first night, and the mattress wasn't the best.
- Adam (10/5): Exceptional -
- Adam (10/5): Great accomodation and service - excellent apartment in good location
- Brett (10/5): We wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. - The location was great, easy secure parking, The unit had everything you could possibly need. It was all good.
