Guest Reviews
- Downes (6/5): - Using a 3rd party provider
- Pilgrim Ken (6/5): OK stay in Brisbane - Ideal for the reason we were in Brisbane The room was not as good as the write up

- Bianca (10/5): Amazing location and staff, would definitely be back again! - The location is amazing! And you can’t beat the beautiful view it has, it actually faces the sunsets in the afternoon which made the whole place light up with an amazing golden glow and felt so homely.
The communication was top tier and Alice was in continuous contact to make sure everything was perfect for our stay! Everything was lovely!

- Yates (7/5): Great views of the Brisbane River plus proximity to the CBD. - The view of the Brisbane River was exceptional, both during the day and the night. The property was close to Brisbane's CBD. It was not an expensive stay. The property was not super clean upon arrival. For example, the microwave still had food splashes from the previous occupants, the bathroom sink and surrounding shelving were not properly cleaned. There was an oily substance on the surface next to the bathroom sink. The unit was dusty in some areas.
The bed was not particularly comfortable. A padded mattress protector might make it more bearable. The towels were of low quality and well-used. There was no cleaning done nor towel changes during the 5 nights that I was staying there.
- Suzanne (6/5): A very basic unit with minimal facilities. Great location, spectacular views across the river and the city. We wont be - Good location to access city sites and sights, spectacular view, short walk to the Barracks row of eateries. The cheerful Brazilian restaurant attached to the property offered breakfast and lunch every day. Good wifi connection and if one could tear oneself away from the view, quite the selection of reading material was available. Constant injunctions from the owner on conduct [dammit I’m a senior and know not to put dirty shoes on beds, have parties, invite guests and smoke in someone else’s property] lack of information on access to the property requiring several calls to…the Phillipines, having to pay a security deposit on top of my pre-paid accommodation fee; a toilet that did not flush properly, overhead lights that did not work, bedside lamps that did not work with an incorrect replacement bulb provided; sharp nails poking through the carpet adjoining the tiled area, several reminders to take the rubbish out but no information as to just where to do that which resulted in us having to bother reception staff [not managing the property] to find where the rubbish goes; 2 towels only for 2 adults for a week; an oven that had no instructions on how to turn the dang thing on; a minimalist chest of drawers that had been mistreated in the past and did not close properly and a sofa that had seen better days. Of concern was the bathroom, a shower that provided a trickle despite plenty of water into the bath tub, and a sink that emptied slowly indicating a blocked drain. Bathroom had a very mouldy ceiling which obviously has been overlooked by the cleaning staff. No post exit communication on returning my $500 deposit to date
- Keith (3/5): We weren't in hurry to return at the end of the day as it was not a pleasant place to stay. - We liked the niew The lounge was old and dirty and hard to get out of. We had nothing on which to put our feet up so resorted to the table with rugs under our ankles.
The bath was not clean and there was body wash all in the window slide which indicated it hadn't been professionally cleaned.
The basin plug was broken hence the basin could not hold water.
The was so little water coming from the shower that we had to turn in circles to get wet.
Window surronds on one windw looked like white ants attacked it.
The TV unit was old, warped and unsight;y. The bedroom TV would not work.
The mat was old and didn't lie flat under the table.
The doona was queen size and on a king bed it hardly touched the edges of the bed, and cetainly did not hang over the sides.
We weren't given a code to open the mailbox so had to phone for it. ie once we located the actual mailbox It was a very impersonal beginning to our stay.
Brakfast in the restaurant was great.
- Joelene (4/5): Very disappointed with my experience. The state of Cleanliness, the noise made it hard to sleep day or n, I shouldn’ to - The price seemed reasonable for the property features, and could accommodate my late sane day booking. The lack of overall cleanliness.
The bathroom: shower over bath tub - the screen was dirty and surrounds were moldy.
There was a cockroach in the bath tub. The vanity basin had splatter marks all over the tap and faucet.
The mirror had been poorly cleaned to a certain height with smear marks left.
The shower pressure was absolutely woeful. It was scorching hot but a mere trickle of water flow.
The Kitchen: very dirty bench top. I have Coeliac’s Disease and need to cook my meals. The first night I spent cleaning the bench and stove top. I was disgusted when multiple cockroaches came out from under the stove top.
The coffee machine: the water chamber had a strange yellow/brown tinge to the water.
The fridge: After a simple wipe out of the fridge shelves, I cleaned out the remnants of previous guests food items.
The room: Extremely noisey!! The windows were not able to be opened, but they sounded wide open. I believe the age of the building and window seals are not equipped to handle the constant flow of traffic and sirens 24/7, sure it is North Quay, one of the busiest locations for the convergence of traffic.
Frustratingly the bathroom window has a mesh top and the noise easily flowed through.
It is backing onto the lift shaft, which you can here many noises during it’s use… day and night.
The bedroom: first night, another cockroach on the bedside table.
Extremely antiquated air conditioning which looked like a plume of dust etc was bound to cover you if turned on.
Did not feel an inviting bed to sleep in, “blanket” needs up grading.
- Yonatan (6/5): -
- Andre (8/5): Very good -
- Peter (10/5): Exceptional -
- Venard (7/5): Stay was good views are awesome, apartment good size - Was convenient location They took the $500 from my credit card and didn’t refund it 😖😖😖😖. We left the apartment very tidy no damage so why didn’t they refund it?????
- Jack (1/5): Bad - Alice Homes have kept my $500 security deposit without any communication with me about why it hasn't been refunded. They have also stopped replying to my attempts to contact them after accusing me of being a thief.
- Barb (8/5): Very convenient - The location was perfect. Communication with Alice easy I didn’t like having to pay a refundable bond
- Burnett (8/5): Very good -
- Nitin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jasmine (8/5): Lovely apartment, would definitely stay again - The location was good and we liked that it had a dishwasher and the living room was very cosy and homely:) The only things I’d suggest improvement on was the shower wasn’t too powerful, however still hot and would be nice to have a firestick or smart tv just so people could watch stuff. Other than that really liked it:)
- Kathy (3/5): Grim - Property location was pretty good and the parking was good The bedding sheets, the bed mattress, the decor. The couch was terrible. No springs left. Kind of grim looking, the washer dryer didn’t work quite well at all. I had to hang my things to dry. The seating was very uncomfortable. The plastic chairs for the dining table were so uncomfortable. We left after only two nights of a six night booking and lost our money. Not worth the money for value.
- Sharon (5/5): Private booking on booking .com - Loved the view and location Didn't like that the building it's in a motel cannot help you with anything as this is a private accommodation so getting the keys put me of very confused but it all.worked out
Not worth 560 a night I payed the place was crawling with cockaroaches
Least now I know there are private people on booking.com
- Scarlett (7/5): Average room but fantastic location! Good for when going to events etc and seldom staying in room - The bed was comfy. The place was clean and had great functional use of kitchen amenities incl washer... and storage.
The airconditioning was so so but it exists
Note that power points in bedroom are vest for charging devices.. the ones in lounge had perhaps terrible voltage and time was halved moving them to try others and see if as they did charge quicker..
Clean linen. Nice bathroom products for use in shower (an additional washcloth would be good for 2 guests tho please in future 😜) Tryign to contact the booking # privided failed and kept looping to the main server. Stressful when they accidentally sent us a check out msg as boarding to head there as per booking dates.
The shower pressure was really really awful. We both feel that was almost up there with the worst we have ever used in other locations period. Almost considered using the pool area one to be honest.
The tv is not great.. and it would be nice to have been able to put on services such as netflix or youtube etc... not a party place nor we were there to do so, but some quiet tunes or such whilst readying for an event at suncorp would have been ok.
Pricing turned out to be higher than the rate of the other apartment rooms in the same hotel- for location we will book again, but preferably just directly through the place
Check ins a bit earlier and such to.

- Jason (9/5): We could have watched the view from the apartment windows all day. - The view was amazing and all the little extras thoughtfully provided for our comfort. Also very clean. Easy to access Riverside walkway and city centre. The car parking has low overhead, just 1.9m. also was unclear where we should park in the carpark. Also we got a couple of conflicting messages about collecting the key and returning it. Worked it out in the end but needed a couple of phone calls.
- Clergy (9/5): Superb -
- Kymberly (8/5): Very good -
- Cinzia (10/5): Great view, clean and well appointed - No breakfast provided. Location great. Communication about where the property was located
- Kat (7/5): Good stay, confusing check-in - Great location, 3 minute walk to Roma Street Station and 5 minute walk to local Coles. Really great view of the river and Southbank (pictured). Comfortable apartment with all the facilities you need. They also provided things like shampoo, soap, dishwashing liquid, tea, etc. The check-in key process was the most confusing and frustrating process we had ever experienced. The host provided multiple sets of confusing and conflicting instructions which wasted a lot of time. For future travellers- you just need to provide the ID and then go to the property at the checkin time where they will provide you the code to the lockbox.
There was also multiple items such as the casserole dish which were filthy. Most of the apartment had been cleaned but this put a damper on things
- Charlie (1/5): Really, really bad and never again. - The view was good. The ridiculous and outrageous situation with the key to the apartment, access and parking.
- Simon (10/5): I would stay here again - I loved the location, the barracks are close by so Coles, the Caxton and Suncorp Stadium is just a short walk. Nothing
- Theresa (8/5): Very good - I like the central location of the accomodation and view is wonderful! The cost to pay for a face towel which was stained was a little unreasonable.
- Daniel (4/5): Disappointing - Parking was awful, didn’t know where to collect keys was around the back of the building
- Clinton (4/5): Disappointing -
- Michael (6/5): Poor key pickup experience and coffee machine doesn’t work - View Parking is only 1.9 meters
