- Rebecca (7/5): - Location is good. Straightforward and flat walk to the beach. Good sized bedrooms. Kitchen seems renovated and is one of the bathrooms. Ping pong table out the back was a nice surprise. Well suited to bigger groups or families. I have the same feedback as others have previously reviewed. Empty containers (e.g. bathroom spray) and random mismatched hair care bottles in the bathroom made it feel less like a holiday stay and more like housesitting. Old and cheap furniture (which is fine for a beach house but was not expected for the money). Backyard had heaps of old, very dusty and hazardous equipment or furniture, including a broken side gate that's not actually attached to anything and is being held up by the sand. LOADS of cars parked on the street. Not the property's fault but very much took away from the holiday vibe. We also got the wrong check in info which I only realised after we checked out because the lock box code happened the be the same. It wouldn't have been an issue except it meant we checked out early thinking we had to be gone by AEDT as quoted in the info.
These things were not problematic and we still enjoyed our time, but for the price, I would stay elsewhere.

- Jennifer (10/5): It was very relaxing. - It was really comfortable, exceptionally clean. Lots of room. It was a short drive to everything. The neighbourhood was very quiet. Couldn’t fault it.
- Craig (8/5): Highly recommended and is our go to place when staying on the Gold Coast. - This is our 2nd stay at Bare foot & Beachy on Binya in 9 months. Perfect location and only a short walk from Kirra Beach. Coolangatta Beach is also close and well within walking distance. Close to many cafes and restaurants. Whilst it was just my wife and I staying, the house is well suited for a group of 3 couples or 2 couples and their kids. Airport noise at 6am, though after a few days you get used to it.
- Gabby (8/5): Great place that we would use again - Location was great easy walking to everything. Plenty of room and felt like home
- Julie (10/5): Our 2025, Cooly rocks, stay. - The house was lovely and beautifully presented. Perfect for our stay. Perfect in every way
Thankyou.
- Anthony (10/5): Perfect beach house getaway - We stayed at Barefoot & Beachy for my partner’s birthday weekend and absolutely loved it. It’s a charming beach house in Coolangatta that’s both stylish and spacious, with four bedrooms, two bathrooms, and two living areas—one of which has a pullout sofa and can be converted into an extra bedroom.
The backyard is huge and perfect for relaxing or entertaining, with a great outdoor area and BBQ setup. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to cook up a storm. One of the best parts is that the property is pet-friendly—we brought our fur babies and they had the best time running around the yard!
It’s an easy walk to the beach, and for those feeling active, there are even bikes available to use. The hosts were super friendly and incredibly responsive throughout our stay.
Highly recommend for families or groups of friends. We’ll definitely be back!
- Trisha (7/5): Needs to address a few things and could be perfect! - Great location. Comfortable beds. Huge yard. Owner lovely and very communicative. All the blinds were dirty. Stains on the lounges. Barking dog and construction on either side. Empty soap bottles x 3. Empty dishwasher tablet box. Half eaten food in pantry and fridge with a note saying that they’re not meant to leave food but if you use it, replace it. Cheap shampoo and conditioner bottles in both bathrooms that someone could put something into. All of the above just took away that holiday feel and felt like you were in someone’s house that is away.
- Trisha (7/5): Great value for money, excellent location - Great property for a family. Close to everything. Beds very comfortable. Huge yard. Empty soap and dishwasher containers, half eaten food in pantry makes it feel you’re living with someone.
- Susan (10/5): Exceptional - The property was very homely, clean, comfortable and extremely well equipped. everything we needed was there. It
was excellent value too especially compared to other places in the area. There was plenty of room for our party of 5 adults to sleep and have our own space if needed. Emily is a lovely host, she was in contact before our stay to give us our (very simple) check in details and even after we'd arrived to make sure all was OK (it was). She answered questions very quickly and made us feel we were very welcome in her property and that she genuinely wanted us to enjoy our stay. Everything was great, all I'd say is that it's around a 15/20 minute walk to shops/bus stops and Coolangatta itself which was no problem for us but maybe it would be for anyone with mobility problems. There is parking for a car though at the side of the property.
- Kate (6/5): Pleasant - The kitchen and bathroom were neat, clean and seemed to be newly renovated.
The location isn’t too far from the beach. The property was over priced (I paid $1370 for 3 nights). There are a few things which were disappointing for a property at this price point:
- most of the furniture is old including but not limited to - dented fridge, dirty fabric lounges, broken blinds in most rooms, broken wall decor (fell into bed and made a mess) and broken picture frames.
- consumables left in fridge: many old and used food consumables/condiments in fridge and cupboard. I was confused by a note that something along the lines of by law these items couldn’t legally be provided - so ignore them if you don’t want to use them.
- the backyard, whilst large smelt of sewage when we arrived (this might have been due to the cyclone that hit the week before). The smell has dissipated significantly by the time we left (although we tried to limit time outside).
- back bedrooms very dusty (likely due to construction next door, and old furniture).
- fencing is not secure on one side (construction fencing), I did not feel
confident leaving my dog out side (also because of sewerage smell).
- some windows very dirty (again due to construction).
- located under flight path (morning and evening plane noise).
I feel the above factors should be considered in pricing. There were several dog friendly apartment options closer to the beach and at a lower price point which would have been a better option for us.
- Vincent (8/5): Very good -
- Jamie (1/5): Bad -
- Glenn (9/5): Superb -
- Jessii (10/5): Perfect little holiday retreat 💕 - Absolutely lovely little beach home. They really made it feel homely, super tidy and close to everything. Weird creepy neighbour kept trying to peep into the lounge and first bedroom through the blinds from his house. My daughters felt very uncomfortable. Nothing to do with the owners though just a heads up to anyone that may not be as aware.
- Brendan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Craig (8/5): Perfect for our stay. Being pet friendly is a bonus. Plenty of sleeping options for a large family or friends. Ability t - Good location, within walking distance of Kirra Beach. N/A
- Leigh (9/5): Overall, great especially when you need to take your fur babies with you. - very well equipped. Hosts were easy to deal with, even messaged during our stay to ask if everything was okay. due to neighbour construction, the side fence is temporary and has a gap under it. Dogs could have gotten under it if they really wanted to, so couldn't leave them outside unsupervised.
- Natlalie (10/5): Exceptional - Great location, close to everything.
