Guest Reviews
- Robyn (8/5): Cute, modern and well located - Cute little town house. Great location once we worked out the slightly tricky parking. Nicely set up. Welcome booklet out of date (mentioned a bottle of wine as included which was clearly no longer the case) No downstairs toilet. On site parking is a bit tricky.

- Cassie (10/5): Beautiful cottage in the heart of Bendigo - Such a gorgeous cottage, filled with everything you could ever need! Lovely owners, very responsive and great to deal with. Will definitely stay again. Nothing

- Parveen (9/5): - Such a comfortable stay. Very generous and helpful hosts. Location.
- Chris (9/5): A lovely comfortable home away from home! - Very cosy and homely. Wonderful beds! We couldn't unlock the back door next to the parking space. Also parking space very tricky for larger vehicle. A pod coffee machine would be a great addition!
- Margaret (10/5): A comfortable, well-appointed property in a great location with generous hosts. -
- Selina (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lisa (8/5): Very convenient location, everything we needed. - Great location, very cozy on a freezing night, had to ring to get correct lock box code but Laura answered straight away and helped me out, well stocked kitchen, lots of warm blankets, comfy beds.
- Jennifer (10/5): A fun couple of days in a beautiful little house. - It’s a beautiful little place. We walked to the Art Gallery and there’s an excellent Japanese restaurant near the corner. Would happily stay there again. Thank you. Nothing
- Helen (9/5): This is our second stay at Sage Cottage. Great location for walking in Bendigo - Walking distance to Bendigo CBD Automatic blind on large window didn’t work which wasted some of the heating
- Joyce (10/5): Excellent location, comfortable stay, friendly hosts - Great location, nicely furnished, friendly communication from hosts with small welcome basket. Check in and check out instructions clear. The off street carpark space is very small - we have a small car so it was ok, but a larger car would need to park on the street.
- Anonymous (9/5): Great place to stay, and we would be happy to stay here again! - Great location; parking spot available on site; light, bright cottage, cosy, warm (Winter visit) and spacious; everything we needed. Great to find milk in the fridge for our cup of tea on arrival.
- Kylie (10/5): Excellent accommodation for a girls weekend. Loved our own Sip and paint session!. Comfortable, clean, warm. Close to ev - The little extras provided in the pantry. Beautiful decor Parking a lil hard 🤣
- Eve (10/5): Recommend for location and comfort - Lovely condiments left for an easy breakfast and snacks. The hosts did so much to make sure you were comfortable from lovely bedding, mattresses, towels etc... and also a great lot to tourist information. The local was near beautiful shops and restaurants and the museum Lovely quiet street but there is a busy road near by that unfortunately at 2am it sounded like locals were drag racing for 30mins. Also, the shower pressure was very low, so hard to wash one's hair. To manage expectations, we think it should be called Forest Road Townhouse vs Sage Cottage as it's in a built-up area which is great for walking to everything but not really a cottage location
- Leonie (8/5): Very good - Decor and furnishings very tasteful and calming. Good lighting day and night. Clean and well equipped. Heating excellent for winter visit. One major blind did not work - it's electrically operated by a remote. On site parking best for small cars. We appreciated that the owners gave detailed instructions.
- Eric (10/5): Just perfect. Will stay again. - Superb Location. Very good Facilities. Comfortable Bed. Well stocked essentials. Everything was just right and easy. It’s a minor matter, but the parking on the property was tiny, though it was very easy to park outside. Not a problem at all.
- Tammy (9/5): Tastefully decorated - Very friendly thoughtful host. Beautifully decorated. Very comfortable and so close to everything. Loved the thoughtful generous touches provided by the hosts. Loved the place! Highly recommend, has everything you could need plus more! The only slight imperfection was the shower water pressure. Perhaps there was something going on with the water supply and was hopefully temporary but, it just trickled out. This is the only reason I didn't give a 10.
- Campbell (10/5): I think I left a little piece of my heart in Bendigo, and at The Sage Cottage - Laura and Lachy, you should be proud of your Sage Cottage. It's wonderful. We were so comfortable and felt at home from the moment we stepped through the door. Thank you for the pantry items, they were very helpful. We'll be back for sure, Annette and Belinda
- Deanne (10/5): A cute little retreat - The extra touches Nothing
- Dianne (9/5): Totally fabulous place to unwind and relax - Central location great space for related adults travelling together Nothing
- Denise (9/5): We were delighted to stay in such a delightful place! - Sage Cottage is a thoughtfully designed small home that is perfect for a short stay. It was spotlessly clean and offered a booklet of useful information about Bendigo’s attractions. Nil
- Melissa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Fisher (7/5): It was comfortable and lovely bit shower not good and location great but noisy not the owners fault parking challenging - Very clean comfortable fresh good location Unfortunately the location meant it was noisy and shower needs upgrading
- Robyn (10/5): Lovely cottage in a fabulous location! - We had a lovely 2 night visit and loved the location of the cottage! We didn't use our car until we left as could walk everywhere we needed to go! Thanks to Laura and Lachy for providing such a warm welcoming stay!!! We didn't have any problems with anything. Would have liked to stay a few more days.
- Danielle (8/5): Very good - All the basics done well, clean, comfy and cozy, light & bright, friendly & responsive hosts are welcoming and generous with local info & recommendations. Some nice personal touches from the hosts give it a homely feel. Location was great - very walkable to all the town highlights, but still away from the hustle & bustle when back at the property for some quiet time.
- Brad (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anna (9/5): Superb -
- Paul (8/5): Red Hot Summer Cottage - Location, little gifts 🎁, courtyard, layout, and amenities Only one toilet, stairs (but I knew before I booked that it was two storey).
- Kate (10/5): This place is an absolute gem. So handy to Bendigo CBD, but quiet, peaceful and really comfortable. - Amazing location, so handy to the arts sector. Having planned to visit the Bendigo Art Gallery, it was so close and easy walking. Loved the neighbourhood, it was safe and beautiful to wander around on foot. And close to all shopping and restaurants too! And there was the bonus of perfect viewing of the fireworks after the Easter Parade. Magnificent! I can't think of any faults! The Sage Cottage was perfect for my stay.
- Christopher (8/5): Laura and Lachie should be applauded - well done on making our stay super easy - Everything! The attentive hosts....they had covered of everything and were very thoughtful in adding a personal touch to our stay. Having the fridge and pantry basics available made life very easy. The beds were super comfortable. The location was perfect.
- Ryan (10/5): Brilliant! - The location was fabulous. Also kitchen well set up with basics in the pantry. Everything to make our stay comfortable. Coffee vouchers and wine was an absolute bonus. Cottage was super cute and had a great feel to it. Nothing
- Jeffrey (10/5): Quality accommodation, very clean, modern, great location -
- Corey (10/5): By far, the thing that made this 4day stay exceed all expectations, was Laura. - laura has that Mama-bear energy everyone needs in their life!! So loving, so thoughtful, every detail was really taken care of, she was super fast with responding and answering all of my questions, super patient. The cottage had everything we needed and MORE! We had space, comfort, warmth - it was truly our home away from home and we are so so so grateful!
Thank you so much Laura, you beautiful, kind soul of a woman ❤️ Literally the ONLY thing that was a challenge in this entire experience, which is also a ‘nothing’ thing, is the wifi password! We had an event over the weekend where we needed to do some prep work on some slides and needed internet access across multiple laptops and phones and so entering the very long wifi password multiple times was a little rough but once connected, the wifi connection was IMPECCABLE!
- Donna (10/5): Most enjoyable, everything was at the doorstep - The location was great, the home was clean and extremely comfortable, hosts were very hospitable , highly recommend this accommodation
- Karen (10/5): Perfect place to stay ib Bendigo.Very generous hosts . -
- Hilary (8/5): Relaxing, refreshing, great location, great hosts and value for money. - Such a relaxing feel, beds were so comfortable and everything felt so clean and the smells were lovely from the rooms to the towels. Shower pressure and lowering the electric blind took forever.
- Sam (10/5): The Sage Cottage is the perfect place to stay to explore Bendigo. We were there for a sporting tournament and the locati - Everything - Location, size, comfort, host’s communication, facilities, inclusions. Nothing! It was fantastic
- Elizabeth (9/5): Excellent! -
- Xuan (8/5): Nice property for short stay in Bendigo - The owners were very thoughtful and sweet. We enjoyed the Welcome gifts and great coffee. The location was excellent, close to city, restaurants and where we needed to go as well. We really enjoyed our stay. My little one Loved the Milo every morning (she made sure I mention it) There is no dish washer facilitated in the house (apologies if there is but we didn't find it).
- Kate (10/5): Exceptional -
- Matthew (10/5): Stunning home, amazing hosts, can’t wait to book our next stay here. - Everything! Fantastic hosts, amazing property, clean, tidy, close to everything, plus bonus freebies! Nothing! Everything exceeded our expectations!
- Gang (9/5): Superb -
- Bo (10/5): Amazing trip for my family. - It’s very convenient for me to prepare breakfast for my family in the kitchen. And the property is so close to CBD, Rosalind Park and the Sacred Heart Church.
- Helen (9/5): Superb - Excellent for 2 friends travelling together. 2 bedrooms both with queen beds. Easy walking distance to art precinct.
- Neil (10/5): Perfect location, lovely stay - The location was perfect for us, close to the art gallery, restaurants cafes and shopping. House was very comfortable and the well stocked pantry and coffee vouchers were very much appreciated.
- Rebecca (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nick (9/5): Superb -
- Green (10/5): Exceptional - Location, cleanliness and attention to detail on and welcome pack 👍 Parking wasn't good, even with a small car and shower pressure was really poor.
- Carla (10/5): Perfect across the board - I will be booking here again it was fantastic! Laura was such an attentive host with great communications throughout our stay.
- Shane (9/5): Superb -
- Karen (10/5): Convenient and self contained apartment in Bendigo with welcoming hosts. - Comfortable, easy checkin ,clean and great location close to restaurants and shops. Fantastic communication by hosts who were very accomodating of any special requests and supplied us with much appreciated welcome basket and well stocked pantry supplies. Very happy and would recommend to others. Excellent written info about area provided too. Parking lot is small but that is described accurately.
Shower is on the small side and over a small slippery bath with no handrail - but that is being picky.
- Ari (10/5): Wonderful place to stay - The set up was lovely as well as the book full of local restaurants and cafes
- James (9/5): Superb - It has a great location, can walk to the CBD, and has plenty of room to sleep/chill. There was lots of bedding, towels, glasses etc. Beds comfy, great snacks on arrival Getting out of the driveway scraped the underside of my car, my car isn't modified at all. It might be worth looking into a ramp to avoid that.
- Phil (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jill (9/5): Superb - Location was very good and necessities and welcome provided were excellent Icy on arrival....air conditioning took care of that though
- Dilanth (10/5): Exceptional - “Great location close to all attractions, hosts are amazing, and rooms are clean with comfy beds. The pantry was full of snacks. Everything was super welcoming. The property was ready before the listed check-in time.”
- Valerie (9/5): My family and I had a delightful stay at Sage Cottage. - Location was perfect
- Mike (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kathryn (9/5): Convenient location, a comfortable home away from home. Would definitely stay here again. - A good location - the welcome basket in the kitchen with goodies was appreciated, as well as a pantry stocked with staples. Part of the reason I booked here was that the property advertised a hot tub. But there was no hot tub to be found.
Suggested improvements could be a grab rail to assist in getting out the of the shower/tub safely, as well as grip pads in the bath.
- Madelaine (10/5): Exceptional - Such a nice little cottage will definately be back when I am back in Bendigo.
- David (9/5): Very relaxing, comfortable family room and bedrooms, very central so we didnt move the car. - The property provided some basics for breakfast however you need to add fresh products like milk, bread, butter.
Plenty of Tea, Coffee etc and some local produce. Minor things that the owner is dealing with.
- Haris (9/5): Very good location. Comfortable, clean and everything worked. -
- Susan (7/5): Good - We didn’t have breakfast. There were cereal packets and instant noodles …
There was reference to a welcome basket but we didn’t find one. The kitchen was well equipped and tasteful. Shower water pressure was low and temperature hard to regulate. However, the bath towels were lovely and large.
- Nandu (10/5): Exceptional -
- Richard (10/5): Loved it - Everything was more than could have been asked for. Parking was just a shade unclear... but worked it out
- Jibril (9/5): We would definitely stay again if back in Bendigo - Amazing hosts, great little property, great location, comfy, cozy.
- Ann (10/5): Perfect property in a perfect location - Perfectly located on the edge of Bendigo CBD. We walked everywhere. Met a friendly neighbour which was a bonus! Nothing not to love about the place😊
- Simon (8/5): Very good -
- Michael (8/5): Very good - All great. Shower
- Chris (10/5): The hosts are very polite with great communication, perfectly tidy with some lovely touches including items of local pro - Clean & tidy with excellent welcome pack & luxurious extras.
- Dilly (10/5): Exceptional - Very nice and clean
- Wendy (9/5): Very comfortable accommodation for our weekend in Bendigo. We wouldn’t hesitate in returning or recommending. - The property was very well located. It was light, clean, and modern. Being four single ladies it’s often difficult to get the bedding configuration to suit, but this was perfect. The fold out beds were surprisingly adequate. The hosts were very attentive. A blind on the big back window would be useful on a very hot sunny day, such as we encountered, but it wasn’t a deal breaker.
- Hannah (10/5): Lovely and peaceful -
- Suwani (10/5): Lovely stay in a lovely, clean, comfortable and convenient property to explore Bendigo and surrounds. - It was a lovely property and had all amenities that we needed as a family. It was comfortable and clean.
The host were flexible and quick to respond to queries. The location is great and close to shop and the town centre.
We would highly recommend this property and hosts. Nothing.
- Huan-chi (10/5): Sweet cozy stay - This location and detail is exactly as described on the app, comfy, lovely, cosy just like home. And Laura is very helpful and respond very quickly. We enjoy the stay very much and definitely come back if we visit Bendigo.
- Natasha (10/5): Exceptional -
- Pawan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Saint (10/5): Gorgeous comfortable space, well appointed and thoughtful touches - Everything but the parking which was tricky with 3 cars between 7 of us
- Abbie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Natalia (10/5): Exceptional - Laura is a friendly and welcoming host. The place is full of light, clean, with little touches that make the whole experience wonderful! Very close to main Bendigo highlights.
Highly recommend!!

Highly recommended
