Guest Reviews
- Terra (1/5): Expect the Electricity or Water To Be turned off - The security was kind enough to help me with luggage when I arrived and departed, upon my arrival I was on the second floor and by the time it was time for me to depart I was on the 3rd floor. Security even helped me get the luggage into the Uber. Roaches were already in this apartment as well as the one I was relocated from, the tea kettle was broken at the top, you couldn't even open it. There's no table on the balcony, the cigarette butte from the staff or the previous tenants weren't removed from the flower pots. I departed 27 days early because they aren't paying their bills, they put an insufficient amount on the electric meter knowing you've paid for a full month, the water was shut off, obviously by the water company or the government. No otter apartment was without water and they wouldn't send proof that the bill had been paid or they were communicating with the property management or maintenance to see why the water was off...I could observe cleaning women from the balcony dumping water they'd used to clean apartments from the balconies as they'd done the previous give weeks I'd been there. There was no one working on a water issue on the property and the staff was shocked the water was off in the apartment, the electricity was also shut off before I departed the day I did. The cleaning people aren't doing the best at cleaning as the shower is disgusting and has crime on the inside and outside. The apartment they moved me from had the electricity go out in the middle of the night and after 9 a.m. the next morning they sent a code to add another insufficient amount to the meter. The water also went out late in the evening. The pool changes color due to the amount of rain or lack of rain, the pictures of the pool are not accurate, if people are seen in the pool, people give them looks and signals they should get out of it, the color of the water goes from a very dark green to a light green depending on how much rain water or lack of rain water goes into it.
- Terra (1/5): Two Attempted Home Invasions, A mouse, & Roaches were a bit much - Uber does a great job of the drivers locating the address, at night it'd be difficult to find because the lighting on the street is poor or nonexistent, all of the Uber drivers have safely been able to pick me up and drop me off at least 3 times a week for me to go to the gym and shopping, security did advise don't stand on the street or lobby with your phone in your hand because someone will snatch it from you on the street or enter the lobby and snatch it, as long as you're very careful it doesn't seem to happen Two attempted home invasions while I was inside the apartment, the first one a man insisted he was security and I needed to open the door, I'm a former security officer and a former criminal defense attorney so I questioned why security needed me to answer the door and he insisted they just needed me to do so, I filmed with my cell phone and armed myself as I opened the door and it was a resident from a different building at the door with his regular clothing on. I waited for hours for the police and they did nothing because they said there was no forced entry and there was nothing taken, in the U.S. that behavior is considered an attempted home invasion because he lied to get me to open the door. Prior to the attempted home invasion, the proper owner lied and said he'd do something about the mouse I observed crawl under the door and exit the apartment as I was using the bathroom in the middle of the night. The microwave and stove are roach invested, you can't use the microwave, I only used it once, when I opened the door to grab my food, roaches were everywhere, you have to warm the stove up to see if roaches will crawl out of the cracks before using it.
- Khotso (10/5): - Clean and beautiful as advertised checkout time 11am as mentioned no worries when you woke up at 9:30am and hot water available even after 10am

- Ntokozo (9/5): My partner and I love the place. We would definitely go back for another stay. - The staff is friendly and the establishment already feels like home. We cooked, all the utilities are provided and are functional. The room is nice and cozy with a big enough bathroom. There’s an iron and ironing board in case you need to iron. There’s no cold water in the kitchen tap. No dishcloth. No table on the balcony and the Wi-Fi didn’t connect to all devices but it was still good.

- Lerato (10/5): - The owner and the host Kayla and staff are just always the nicest people. They just make my stay so easy, convenient and comfortable.
It’s my second stay there and I have to say that it has become my second home
- Hlengiwe (7/5): - I had a great stay! The place was comfortable and very clean throughout. The bathroom was spotless, and the sheets were fresh, which made a big difference. I also really appreciated that the reception area was secure enough to store my luggage before check-in that was super convenient. The staff were all incredibly friendly and welcoming, which added a nice personal touch to the experience. Overall, I’d definitely recommend staying here and would happily return! Unfortunately, as soon as we checked in, there was no electricity in the whole of Maboneng, and it stayed that way until the day after we checked out. It was really disappointing not being able to enjoy the full experience because of the power outage. I understand that load shedding can be unpredictable, but I would strongly recommend investing in a generator or backup power solution for situations like this. It would make a huge difference for future guests.

- Jason (6/5): - Cockroach problem
- Madimpho (1/5): Bad - Owner is very kind One of the guys in the reception took me for some who’s “selling” pretty sure he saw my boyfriend walking out and thought I am selling. The nerve to even tell me he’s lonely & I should help him 😑🤐
- Kholofelo (10/5): guesthouse maboneng - the space is quiet and serene nothing
- Tshepang (7/5): Good -
- Palai (7/5): Good - Small basic looking room, clean and pleasant. With a nice touch of a full length mirror,The owner was kind and very responsive, I would book the room again. The rail needs some fixing.. We ran out of toilet paper also.
- Sifundo (2/5): The stay wasn't nice as if they were not expecting a person - location only I had to request the password, which took 2 hours for them to send. No toilet paper in the room, no dustbin in the room, no dish washer, no air freshner in the bathroom, one towel instead of having 2 in the room
- Kelebokgile (6/5): Pleasant - I loved the privacy and the balcony view even though the lights were not working on the balcony The shower was not working properly. The bed wasn't comfy.
- Thabiso (4/5): A day in cockroach city! - The apartment had a lot of cockroaches and bed bugs The property owner took a double booking we were taken to another dirty apartment that had a lot of cockroaches and bed bugs. The sheets had blood stains very uncomfortable we slept on the floor instead and we were kissed by a lot of insects
- Karabo (4/5): Not the best - The location There were so many 😩😩cockroaches, they got into my drink upon arrival and on top of that the room I was put in didn’t correspond with the room number on the app 😕
- Michael (7/5): Good - Very central. Close to facilities. There were a lot of stairs and no lift. Parking cost extra.
- Refilwe (9/5): Superb - The overall accomodation was beautiful. The place was clean, the staff at the reception was friendly, everything was approximately just as it was shown in the picture.
The environment was the highlight of the trip. There was no bin.
- Khumalo (8/5): wonderful just hoped I could have used the TV. - it was nice and cozy, everything was accessible, stores are near the place. Peaceful for a place in maboneng There was no bin, dish cloth. The was no WiFi and the TV is limited and nothing to watch not even sabc 1.
- Retshidisitswe (7/5): Good -
