- Guest (8/5): Beautiful place to stay for couple :) - Loved the spa and the location! Beautiful views The property connected had people partying until late and we could hear everything whilst trying to sleep.
- Kirstyn (10/5): Would love to visit again for a longer stay! - It was a very enjoyable stay. The retreat was close to the mountains and every thing was clean and organised. There were large windows looking out over the snow and they were gorgeous to wake up to or to walk past.
Tania and Richard are lovely hosts and quick to answer any questions about the stay and even helped us reach the customer service when we couldn’t! We did wish we bought our own body wash as we didn’t particularly liked using the bar soap. Otherwise the spa feature was lovely to use after a long day of skiing! Definitely would love to come again!!

- Naomi (10/5): Perfect location, loved the apartment, had everything you needed and so comfortable. - So beautiful, hosts have thought of everything. Perfect location, very clean and quiet. I will be back and recommending to family and friend’s.
Hosts let us in early to drop off cold goods before we headed out on a day of hiking. Nothing
- Andrea (9/5): Lovely relaxation night away the accommodation was superb - Location No ships close by or food stores you need to come prepared with food, partly our fault as we didn’t read the email properly as it does state this, had we gone in the snow season it would have a cafe and general store open
- Karl, (9/5): Nestled among the snow gums - Beautifully situated among the snow gums. Well insulated and very comfortable whatever the weather Would benefit from a microwave, but otherwise well provisioned.
- Matthew (9/5): Superb -
- Amy (2/5): Misleading privacy - The property is set in a beautiful location (the whole of Baw Baw is a gem). The property itself is the perfect size and has all the amenities for two. Unfortunately our total experience of the apartment and evening was ruined by the neighbouring guests. The apartment listing is misleading when it indicates that it is “private” as it is actually just a section or portion of the adjoining property with the only separation being a thin wall and locked door.
The people staying in the adjoining property included young children which spent the afternoon and early evening yelling and jumping around like a herd of elephants (as kids do). We had to turn on the tv in the spa area to drown out the disturbance (to no avail). Furthermore, when we tried to go to sleep in the master bedroom we could quite clearly hear the conversations of our (might I add VERY loud) neighbours. We tried to wait it out until about 11 pm before retreating upstairs and resorting to sleeping on the pull out couch.
Our lay in was interrupted by the offending children knocking on the locked separating door for fun.
Our stay was neither romantic or private and it certainly wasn’t the earned quiet escape from
Our busy lives that my partner and I were hoping for. Next time we will forgo the $300 “private” retreat and stick with the retreat of our tents on the plateau!
- Jennifer (8/5): cozy, well-appointed apartment: heating thoughtfully on for our arrival which was sublime! - lock-box code didn't work, contacted owners who answered immediately (which was a relief as it was stormy and snowing) and happily told us where to find a second hidden key and, hey presto! door opened!!! We almost wept with relief!
- David (10/5): Exceptional -
- Yvonne (10/5): The chalet was so warm and cosy. Plenty of windows. It was tastefully furnished and all equipment you needed. - It was cosy and clean. Well equipped Would have liked bigger coffee cups. But that’s not really a bad review.
- Ruth (10/5): The comfort level and an ultimate intimacy of the retreat for a romantic getaway on a small snow village was fantastic. - You had everything you needed to be self contained and super cosy. Windows everywhere to observe the snow covered landscape at your doorstep. Having to leave on the last morning
- James (10/5): Excellent accomodation and perfect location - Beautifully presented home, heating was perfect and easy to adjust but wasn’t required, 2 minute walk to get to the snowboard and ski runs, host was fantastic to deal with and was very friendly and went above and beyond for my wife and I. Snowed like crazy while we were there so we had an incredible time. Only two things:
1. that we couldn’t stay longer
2. That I’m unable to rate it any higher
- Wachtel (8/5): Halls Retreat - Views. Spa bath. Bed very comfortable. TV terrific as was the lounge furniture and decor generally. Poor lighting in spa area (blue! Really!?) and bedroom. Also the spa was inserted at floor level with no edging which we felt was a hazard if you accidentally stepped backwards and fell into it. It should have a rim or side to it. Only one bedside table and lamp.Heating was way too hot and we were unable to figure out how to turn it down even with the written instructions. The toilet cistern also occasionally got stuck. The shower door doesn't close properly and hence leaves water all over the floor.
- Pam (10/5): A beautiful, very comfortable and luxurious apartment. I want to come back! - This was the most beautiful, well appointed place I have ever stayed. The apartment was amazing, the hosts were wonderful. A fantastic experience.
- Matthew (8/5): Very good -
- Brenda (9/5): all good, thanks - great location could we please have some clear instructions/guidelines regarding the controls for the heating system. Perhaps a few pointers on a card next to the TV
- Tom (8/5): Very good -
- Jennilyn (9/5): Superb -
- Mark (8/5): Very good -
- Steven (10/5): The perfect getaway. - So quiet and peaceful. A great place to stay. -
- Udo (10/5): Serenity and home away from home - Well appointed small, private apartment, beautifully nested between snow gums with a lot of attention to detail.
- Veronique (10/5): Exceptional - cute cabin! had anything we needed
