Guest Reviews
- Stephanie (9/5): Perfect stay for one! - Really great location and perfect space for one person! Roy was really great at replying in a prompt, friendly and informative manner. Instructions to check in were very easy to follow! Neighbourhood was busy and I wish I had more time to explore it all. Room itself was very clean and cozy! Stairs to come up are VERY steep and narrow which made hauling my 60lbs luggage a bit tricky-no fault of the owner just something to note! Might be a tight fit for two people if you both have big bags in the room.

- YvosTrip (9/5): very comfortable stay ! recommended 100% - the bed was super comfortable ! that is probably the most important aspect for me in any trip I take.
nice neighbourhood also (very close to lots of restaurants & bars)
and metro is litterally 3 minutes away maybe the place where to hang towels could be closer to the shower.
also, may need another plug so that you don't choose between coffee, fridge and coffee.
honestly, very little to say here.
- Jen (7/5): Clean room in a great neighbourhood for a night or two stay. - Room was very clean, and access provided by property manager was easy to follow. Upgrades in the room looked nice. Mattress was very comfortable. Neighbourhood was great, easy to get to by metro and great options for food nearby. Walking distance to the old canals district. Good option for a night or two in the city. Similar to other reviewers, the room was just tricky to navigate, and the set-up was not very functional. Coffee machine needed to be moved somewhere so it could be plugged in and used, fridge was tiny and not very cold, there were mugs and glasses to use, but nothing to clean them with. There are a few things they could do to improve the setup and make the space much more useable.
As other have noted, the stairs are narrow and steep - but this is just Amsterdam. Visitors to the city should note that the buildings are old and arrow steps are the norm, especially from the ground floor to the second floor, as the ground floor traditionally has very high ceilings.
- nathalie (10/5): - La chambre est très bien située, très confortable. Le lit est super-large et confortable :)
J'ai croisé Roy, qui m'a bien aidée avec ma valise :)
- de Gouveia (10/5): A true GEM! The pictures are 100% accurate! The space is as spacious and clean as portrayed! - The room is amazing, nice pillows, good bed, amazing dim-able lights, very clean, nice white sheets, quiet street, amazing location, super close to everything. Metro was a few steps away, it was perfect for my trip. The heating cannot be adjusted in the room, but that was totally not necessary it was the perfect temperature all hours of the day. I stayed for 5 nights, and loved the 25m2 space, a very wide open space to come to rest at the end of busy days in the city. Would look for this place first, next time I travel to Amsterdam!
- Ian (10/5): Beautiful self contained en-suite room in a great location - Beautiful self contained en-suite room in a great location. Clear communication from the host at all times and I’d like to thank him for helping me whenI misplaced a set of keys and he arranged for a new set to be dropped to me within the hour on a Saturday night.
- Andrew (10/5): Great place in a great area - The property was clean and well prepared the host gave great instructions even though the location in google maps sends you to the wrong part. The room was warm and the shower was clean.
Could not find any fault!
Host was very informative even with minor questions. Toilet seat was loose but host was positive to sort so not really dislike!

- Chantal (7/5): Prima! - Top locatie! Heerlijk bed en alle voorzieningen waar aanwezig. Er was geen toiletpapier…. En een kopje koffie hebben we in de ochtend overgeslagen, omdat de kopjes vies waren.
- Raphael (10/5): - I had a fantastic 5-night stay at the Renovated Parkside Gem 2 person studio! The studio was spotlessly clean upon arrival, which we really appreciated. The location in De Pijp is excellent it's central enough to explore Amsterdam easily but tucked away enough to feel private and quiet. The WiFi connection was fast and reliable, which was a huge bonus for planning our days. Overall, it was a very comfortable and private place to relax after a day of sightseeing. N/A

- Harsh (1/5): Had booked for 4 nights. Left for a hotel after the 2nd night. - The location is probably the only good thing about this property. There are several restaurants, bars, markets within walking distance.
The owner was responsive and couldn’t let us check in early but he was very helpful in allowing us to shift our bags to the apartment at least till it was ready. If you are carrying anything more than 1 small bag, this place is not for you. There is a very steep and narrow staircase that you need to carry your bags up. This apartment is located on the first floor. After you get to the apartment, as soon as you open the door, it’s the bed right in front of you. There is literally no space to open a suitcase without having to jump over things. The shower and the sink are to the left. Once again extremely compact. The toilet is to the right so if you finish using it and need to wash your hands, you need to walk all the way across the bedroom to get to the sink.
Our biggest problem was the heat! The apartment was covered in sunlight right from 9 in the morning till late at night and it got unbearably hot. We tried everything possible by leaving the windows open completely but nothing worked. After opening the windows, there was considerable noise from the streets as well, people speaking loudly, construction work, vehicular traffic etc. The staircase leading up to the apartment was considerably cooler than the apartment itself. We were provided with one small standing fan and that’s it. To the owner’s credit, he said he could arrange a second fan but by that time we had had enough.
Usually you want to come back to your room/apartment/B&B to freshen up, rest and recharge your batteries but this place was disgustingly hot. Some other reviews have mentioned that it was extremely cold in the winters so there definitely seems to be a temperature control problem.
We had booked this place for 4 nights but during the second night itself we decided that we didn’t want to ruin whatever was left of your trip to Amsterdam and we decided to book a hotel in Amsterdam RAI at the last minute at significant cost. That should tell you how bad it was.
Amsterdam RAI is just one metro station away from De Pijp and all that it offers while also providing a comfortable stay for the duration of your trip.
- avellaneda (9/5): - the location was really good we only had a tiny issue with the kew to the building, we were locked out for a while trying to open it.
I believe the issue has been resolved, since we contacted the host and the day after the lock was working normally again.
- Lucy (7/5): Thank you for letting me check in early . - The bed . The compact way everything was available. The location . The fridge was so small and the fiddling around with plugs etc to close the drive door was annoying .
- Pablo Volenski (10/5): Great place for the price! A smart choice ;) - Everything was great in the flat, and the location is fantastic. Quiet, not in downtown, but really really close to anywhere using bike or public transport. Beautiful neighborhood as well. It needs a table! There is a coffee machine, a boiler, and that's fine... but how to use them if there's no table? I'd strongly advice to get something small and foldable. For sure there is a simple solution for this issue.
- Elisabeth (6/5): Good enough but would suggest elsewhere - Location. Bed comfortable. Host contactable and responsive. Permitted earlier dropping of luggage at 2pm before usual check in at 4pm. Can open windows for some fresh air from street below. Size too tiny for 4 nights. Cases need to be placed on floor as no room for case fold out stands beside bed. No hand basin in toilet so need to walk around to shower area on other side to wash hands. No aircon so hot and sticky. Tiny fridge 20 x 30cm. Very steep narrow stairs not suitable for moving larger suitcases. Apartment above being renovated during our stay. Very over priced for quality by 30/40% from experience at other accom through Europe. Very disappointed I didn’t book other option in Amsterdam as I felt a bit ripped off
- Linda (8/5): Super small with a nice shower. - It was a good location for us to get around. The host seemed very stingy. There were three pods of coffee for 2 people for 3 mornings. Very small shampoo and shower gel that we felt we had to ration. It was described as a quiet street, but since it was hot we had to have the windows open. Over the weekend it was a lively street which really wasn’t bad with two restaurants and a great ice cream store on the corners which had lots of people until 1-2 am .
- Kearins (9/5): Great apartment in a fabulous central location. - Great location, fabulous clean apartment with everything you need for a short stay.
Host very responsive.
- Alexandra (10/5): Exceptional -
- Małgorzata (10/5): Exceptional -
- Augustin (7/5): Good - Well located Very small apartment, a lot of noise from neighbors and the street, and it never gets completely dark at night due to light coming from the bathroom window right next to the room.
- Suvan (9/5): Superb -
- Petra (1/5): VERY COLD TINY APARTMENT AND BAD COMMUNICATION WITH LANDLORD - Already when we arrived, the room was extremely cold, we could not take ofF the jackets. There are huge windows along all room without any heating. Outside there was 0 degrees C. At 5,45 pm upon arrial we contacted the responsible person. They said there is a floor heating and that they will try to fix it. Owner stopped by once and checked that the floor was cold and that heating didnt work. He said they will try to fix it but it didnt happen and they didnt respond any more our calls and text messages. We slept in completely cold room, freezing, in pullovers, scarfs, caps and extra blanket. In the morning the floor heating still didnt work. From 7,30 till 11,30 we tried to communicate again with contact person and we suggested that the owner stops by in the rmorning to solve it but it didnt happen. We kept waiting in cold room till 11,30 without breakfast. Since it was not possible to stay in such cold room any longer, we packed our luggage and left. Hoping that the landlord or Booking will give us some compesantion since we had to move to another hotel. We were very disappointed from the approach of the landlord that he didn´t admit the problem and didnt want to cancel the remaining 2 nights. By the way the room is very tiny - there is just double bed, window and small bathroom with toilett.
RECOMMEND TO STAY AWAY FROM THIS APARTMENT.
- Tennaly (10/5): Exceptional -
- Renate (10/5): Enjoyed our stay and will definitely stay there when we visit Amsterdam again - The studio was perfect for us. It was modern and clean, had everything we needed and in a good location.
- Dmitry (10/5): Exceptional - good location, qiute place, good facilities add a table and facilitices for cooking meal
- Frank (9/5): Superb -
- John (9/5): Superb -
- Colleen (8/5): Very good -
- Meltem (10/5): The location was great - Thanks for check in early. The location was great.
- Margaret (10/5): Fantastic space - comfortable and functional - Very impressed with the clever use of space. The design gave this small area a spacious feel, and it was highly functional with everything I needed. Exceptionally clean and well located in a charming area near the metro. Good communication from host, seamless check-in and out. Not a problem for me, but the fridge is more a wine-fridge temperature, so I wouldn't store any food that needs proper refrigeration in it.
- Leon (10/5): Lovely stay - Great location
- Eve (9/5): Amazing location, clean, comfortable - can definitely recommend! - So comfortable, great location, easy checkin and out. I really loved being next to the park and the ice cream store. Well connected to public transportation and only 2 stops to Amsterdam Zuid where you can catch a train to the airport. TV and internet were great. There is a small refrigerator but no utensils - which I hadn't prepared for. (there is coffee and tea though). The stairs are quite steep if that's an issue for anyone, and the room can't get completely dark at night because the curtains don't extend to the bathroom. These are pretty minor complaints though.
- Frank (9/5): Wonderful little studio right in the heart of the coolest neighbourhood in Amsterdam. - the location right in the lively Pijp is unbeatable. Bars, restaurants and parks are all within a minute of walking. Metro station is very near, which connects to Amsterdam Centraal and Amsterdam Zuid, therefore very easy to get to and from airport.
- Frank (8/5): Very good -
- Ezio (9/5): A modern, clean compact apartment in a central spot in Da Pije, nice neighborhood and easy access to public transport - Very clean, lovely comfortable bed and a great location 😊 We liked the property it was lovely !
- Misbah (5/5): Passable - Location was great! Close to coffee shops, the Metro and lots of local restaurants. Renovated room. No table or chairs to have a meal. Coffee maker but not table to make it on.
Odd set up of the toilet and sink with open shower and no divider.
Wrong address on the description in booking. Should be 141 not 139.
- Marie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Konstantinos (9/5): Totally recommend this apartment for 2 - It was a really nice and comfy apartment for 2. Newly renovated. We had everything we need. I always prefer to stay in de pigp and this apartment's location was great. Some points were not so clean but this was a one time miss I guess
