• Heather (10/5): Location and comfort in Port - Well- equipped kitchen, fluffy bath towels; ( I liked that there were 2 each, plus an extra hand towel and bathmat). Attractively furnished with comfortable amenities. Aircon was quiet and effective. Useful , private outdoor area for eating or relaxing. Resort was quiet and in a quiet area, despite being close to shopping area and other apartments. Both pools were lovely. No lift -but one flight of stairs only a problem if you had mobility issues.
• Michael Victor (10/5): A great location and property . - Our favourite destination, we have stayed at number 10 several times in the past and would stay again. The hosts were very helpful and our cleaner was also very considerate of our requirements. We would recommend number 10 without reservation. We can't think of anything that we had any problems with.

• Francesca (8/5): Very good - We liked everything about the Hibiscus Resort. From the Balinese style, amenities & location. Room 10 balcony was overlooking the pool which we loved. Room was very clean & spacious. Bed was super comfy. Had everything we needed for our 4 night stay. Spa could have been a bit warmer if I'm being picky.

Would recommend and hope to return. - Loved the location, close to all the restaurants, shopping markets etc at Port Douglas I think there should have been a few more supplies with the fact that we had booked for 8 days- eg shower gel, toilet paper (which we had to get more, very difficult due to the rain that interrupted the supply chain.) Not the resorts fault, but felt that had there been more there initially, wouldn’t have been an issue.

• David (4/5): With terrible checking in experience and facilities not cleaned was extremely unsettling. - The onsite staff and guests were helpful. The position is an ideal walking distance to Port Douglas town and facilities Took 1,1/2 hours to get in. The Hibiscus resort management by phone were unhelpful as unit was not owned by them. No contact or information about arriving until after being there 3 days! Text messaging by booking company only to be let in by cleaner. Unit not cleaned at 4:30pm on day of arrival came back after another 1.5 hours. Will not book with this person again dodgy felt like dodgy sub letting scam. Like not to use booking.com again!
• Rachel (10/5): Excellent location - The location was excellent-close to the beach, port and shops/cafes/restaurants. The swimming pool area was lovely with plenty of sun loungers, a bbq area, and table and chairs. Everything we needed was in the apartment. We will definitely stay here again if we return to Port Douglas.

• Amanda (3/5): Disappointed Stay - Mixed review. Ex Cairns local and have tried several places in Port. The resort is actually closed. The owners said they tried to ring us a week prior....we were already in Oz on a local SIM. Could have contacted via email through booking dot com but instead we found all this out at 6pm when we arrived. Workmen and maintainence so offered to move us....from a one bedroom apartment overlooking pool to a studio unit at back of complex overlooking a wall. The studio apartment was lovely but it simply wasn't what I had paid for and we needed more space. Still access to one pool. Had to point this out to owner and with help of booking dot com got full refund. Why are you still renting out your apartment in a closed resort? See above

• Terry (9/5): A great base to enjoy Port Douglas - Great position near the town, beach and marina, clean, well equipped with a high standard of appliances/furniture. We enjoyed our stay.

• Michelle (7/5): Family resort close to town and affordable for a short stay - Close to town. Walking distance to shops and restaurants. Layout of the unit and decoration was good. The shower was easy to use. Kitchen had plenty of dishes, cutlery, pots and pans. It was nice to have condiments and spray for the bbq. Two pools, one larger. The local shuttle stopped here with a simple phone call. Unit faces a road that was noisy. It overlooks a swimming pool that was full of kids of all ages so sitting the balcony was not enjoyable. It’s not a couples resort. Mainly families with young children. The cooktop is very small. We couldn’t make a meal without preparing each dish separately. The bed is queen (we thought it was a king based on response to questions in the booking site) and it was too soft for us.

• Omar (9/5): Superb - Location, parking, cleanliness, access to pools Less than half a roll of toilet roll was provided, The host was contacted regarding this who advised an additional roll would be provided the following day, but was not. At least 2 -3 full rolls should be considered essential for a 5 day stay
• Gavin (9/5): Fabulous location, get setting and ideal for a couple. - Excellent location, a short walk to the main street, for shops and restaurants. A short walk to the beach and a short work to the marina. Clean tidy, lovely pool and setting amongst tropical plants. Perfect size for a couple. a couple of minor maintenance things. eg the toilet button and the kitchen tap need attention. We didn't mention this to the property as it was very minor.

• Hannah (8/5): Couples getaway - Great location and resort. Easy walk to main street and restaurants. Easy parking. Pools well maintained and not too busy. Gardens give that lush tropical getaway feel. Great dark room for making the most of sleeping in. Air-conditioning was a great escape from the humidity. Resort a little bit hard to locate in the dark. Apartment was well appointed and easy to live in, but bed is only for those who love it plush and soft.

• Jacqueline (10/5): Exceptional - Location was fantastic for walk to beach and also shops and restaurants. The key that was supposed to be in the locked saftey box on the door was not there. Had we arrived later when reception was closed we would have been unable to access our accommodation.

Paradise - Headed off in the rental car this morning to visit Cape Tribulation, but got stopped in our tracks by the flooded roadway. Turned around and tried to get the Daintree Village…same thing! Tried Shannonvale winery, same thing. Passed through some cinematic scenery, clouds shrouded forests on mountain tops. Green fields of cane amidst pools of casual water. Dramatic! Settled on a visit to devils, thumb distillery in Craiglie. I’m loving it.  Don’t even go there!

• Dr73 (10/5): Perfect location - The whole apartment was above expectations and access via key lock was simple and very easy with host instructions, unit 10 has everything you will need on holidays, all bathroom, kitchen and laundry needs. Location to beach and Main Street easy 5 minute walk. The 2 pools are perfect and heaps of seats to sun yourself. Has all pay tv channels Leaving Hibiscus room 10 at Port Douglas knowing holidays where over and I was off to colder weather back home. Rain ever morning, but still very warm

• Lisa (10/5): Peaceful paradise in paradise - The apartment is spacious, comfortable, quiet, and remains cool throughout the day with the fans on. Barely needed the AC. Perfectly located cose to everything- beach, town, and marina. I was in PD for a friend's bday celebration and there was about 40 of us all staying in different accommodations. My friends really rated the Hibiscus Resort above all the other accommodations and loved that my apartment had a couch to lounge on as many of the places my friends stayed were much smaller and had no lounge area. I would definitely like to stay here again and my friends all took note of the details as well! Also great communication from the owner and the email had everything I needed to know. There was nothing i didn't like.

• Kathleen (10/5): Perfect! - We love the apartment and facilities. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything you could need and it had a very comfortable bed. We loved the balcony that overlooked the pool! The apartment was perfectly positioned with a 5 minute walk to the beach and a 5 minute walk to the Main Street. We will definitely be back!
