Guest Reviews
- Clive (7/5): - Good amenities, clean comfortable accommodation. A couple of issues relating to broken power point, very bad smell from refrigerator. Have reported it to agent for attention of property manager.
- Kylie (7/5): -
- Daniel (9/5): Perfect location and amenities. - Location was perfect. Other residents having a domestic to see in the new year!
- Miriam (8/5): -
- Kellie (7/5): Clean and comfortable self contained accomodation in a quiet spot. - Accomodation was clean and comfortable. Fully self contained with private access and parking.
Free wifi was a bonus and helped to keep kids entertained during poor weather when card games and board games were no longer interesting. No access to smart tv for streaming services. Basic digital channel access only.
Sharp knives were located in lower kitchen drawers which meant easy access and a safety hazard for visiting grandchildren who were staying in another unit at same location.
- Milne (1/5): - The room was as described The check in process was deplorable from booking to arrival it was a complete stuff up.
The room wasn't ready when we arrived at 3pm on a Sunday afternoon and after many phone calls and waiting around a cleaner finally arrived and we settled in around 5pm after travelling over 8 hours to get there!! When they quote you $100 an hour if you want an early check-in and not get a discount when it works the other way yeah not good.
Then the next day the smoke alarm went off for no reason and wouldn't stop.. well we were done..
The single beds were the most uncomfortable I've ever slept on and had bedbugs!!
But we did get an upgrade finally

- Cannon (10/5): awesome - QUIET ....great location.. pool and beach close access
- Thornton (8/5): - The hotel itself No kids facilities other than the pool and feels like you are always being watched by the residents
- Kim (9/5): Great location right on Pelican beach - Good location right on the beach, can hear the waves at night, had a private carport which made it easy to park, big rooms with high ceilings, internal laundry, very clean areas and well looked after, clean bathrooms and linen. Lots of roadworks around the area so many detours were needed which was confusing (but the site can't really help that so fair enough), cafe/bar was always shut, no shower gel - only a small bar of soap, no bins to put trash or recycling in outside.
- Guest (10/5): Nice property - Lots of room with good facilities
- Nicole (8/5): -

- Adele (8/5): Beautiful accomodation and grounds - very serene. - Stunning resort and very kind service on the phone. Amazing facilities and view of wild ocean. The reception was always closed so we couldn’t hire tennis rackets for the amazing courts or get into the spa.
- Angel (10/5): - The unit was spacious, clean and tidy, well equipped, quiet, private, shower was amazing and the beach was a five minute walk.
- Dee (8/5): - The location is great. Close to lots of places No outdoor light. No light near the step at the gate which could be quite dangerous
- Topp (7/5): Good -
- Bob (1/5): Very Disappointed with the Managing Company - Restaurant had been closed for some time, that should be r4emoved from your website Leaking roof
- Allan (8/5): Very good - Great location, nice and clean, good value for money for a long term stay Only two negatives.
Wasn’t any washing powder for the washing machine and the couches weren’t comfortable.
- Smit (8/5): Very good - Nice accommodation and setting next to beach No BBQ as advertised
- Helen (8/5): It would be a great place to stay with another couple. - I found it hard to locate but once found it was easy to access.
It was a great place for a base and the facility was comfortable. I could not find any bins to empty my rubbish into. I could not get the stove / oven to work.
You also need to be aware of a step that is inside the front door.
- Matalega (10/5): Amazing location on the beach! - Amazing room. The air con AND fan are both amazing. The place has everything you need. Stayed in the 2 bedroom house and the second room had their own bathroom, mini kitchen and outdoor area. Awesome pool area just on the beach with a beautiful deck that overlooks the beach. Overall this was such a great stay, would definitely come back! Tvs didn’t seem to work, not a major issue tho.
- Michaela (10/5): Amazing family friendly stay - Amazing amount of space, worked great for my family, had a fully functional kitchen as well as 2 bathrooms. Was an amazing add on bonus that there was a washer and dryer.
- Sam (9/5): Superb - Well kept and maintained Villa. It was perfect for our young family, with great pools, easy beach access and a short drive to everything we wanted to do.
- Samson (10/5): We had fantastic time as a family and kids loved it - Very comfortable beds and family friendly environment First Aid Kit at the pool needs updating
- Dary (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (6/5): Wouldn’t go there again very expensive for what it is. - Hard to get to have to drive 3klm past over bridge then 3 to property, nothing to view just fence, it’s just like a housing estate
- Lauren (7/5): Peaceful spot with lovely view of the ocean. We will be back soon. - The view is lovely and very close for a beach walk. It rained a lot but we didn’t mind that at all. Loved the enclosed gym and spa the best Nice fresh feel to the unit we stay in. Please add some weights. My son would have liked that added to the gym. Replace the shower curtain in the bathroom.
- Brad (9/5): Excellent location right on the beach with plenty of facilities to keep the family happy. - It’s a beautiful location located right on Pelican Beach. The Nautical Owl is everything that you could ask for in a holiday rental. Very clean. Plenty of space and separate rooms. Short 2 minute walk to beach, pools, spa, tennis courts and gym. Love the Pandanus Deck on the beach for lazy afternoons watching the waves. Especially love the courtyard - very tropical which puts you in the holiday mood instantly. BYO tennis racquets and basketball for the courts. There is nothing that I don’t like about the property however I feel the pillows need replacing. Also sad that the Thai restaurant wasn’t open as it was amazing.
- Emily (10/5): Loved it we will be back for sure - Fantastic pool, spa and bbq area. So close to beach for walks. Apartment was perfect for us as kids had their own area to sleep/tv. Washing machine and dryer made life so easy with dry towels everyday and we could wash anytime! Amazing aircon!!!!
- Thomas (6/5): Please sort - The facilities where good and what was advertised Building maintained could be abit more up kept, eg ensuite door catching on the jam, causing a slapping sound ever time it was opened, bar in kids bedroom kick Fronts falling off,
Coffee cups need replacing asap they were stained badly
Air-conditioning in the main living area was broken. Having to try and using smaller air con in child room to cool the placing which it was to small to do so
Dead rat in the drive way hence opening windows was not first priority due to broken fly screens
- Dean (5/5): Passable -
- Renee (6/5): fair stay for 3 night to beak our Trip up.. - property was in fair condition. was tidy and clean. I think was a little expensive for what it was but is during holidays period. the staff( a lady )at the main centre were rude and questioned us and made us provide a room number and key when we ask if we new where a coffee might be..I don't think they like outside guest during holiday periods. the pools
we're tidy and clean. was located right in the beachfront.
- Brayden (8/5): Very good -
- Dorice (8/5): Very good - The receptionist isn't friendly and helpful. The location is not accessible by maps or waze.
The direction given through phone call is not clear enough. It's been very annoying to get it to Nautical Owl. Though the our expectations was very satisfactory.
- Bec (8/5): Relaxing beautiful stay - location is amazing. Accommodation is clean and tidy. Resort facilities are great Accommodation is a little expensive for what it was
- Helen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kim (10/5): very relaxing….we hope to return - location & property was awesome private garden area could do with some work
- Kerri-89 (10/5): Fantastic little getaway - The whole place was great, plenty of room for a family, the washer and dryer came in handy! Kitchen had everything we needed plus there was an extra kitchenette in the second room. It was a home away from home and we didn't want to leave. Comfy beds and plenty of room for everyone. We're a family of 6, the nautical owl villa was perfect for us. The pools were great but very cold. Kids loved it though, close to the beach, tennis courts, the hot spa, beautiful views, very short drive to go anywhere. Was the most relaxing fun holiday we've had! The only thing that was disappointing which didn't have anything to do with the villa itself but the resort, was children under 12 are not allowed in the spa not even with an adult. The pool was freezing cold, many guests were left disappointed and could not enjoy the hot spa as they had to watch the children in the pool, and the kids weren't allowed to go in the spa with them like most places. The lady which I assume ran the clinics was very blunt and rude when the adults took young children in so they could enjoy 5 minutes in a hot spa rather then a very cold pool. Other then that, we couldn't fault the place.
- Anonymous (8/5): Very good -
- Amos (9/5): Superb - Location Needs a little bit of TLC. Painting would be good
- Gina (1/5): very bad service no response from management when I rang and forward photos as was ask to do but he never got back to me - just the pool and restaurant no reception was very dark and gloomy and totally run down horrible place everything so uncomfortable beds chairs lounge and no shower very hard to get in and out pool area
- Mark (7/5): Good -
- Anonymous (8/5): Very good -
- Carmel (3/5): We enjoyed our stay but not the unit . - We thought was lovely and the staff were also lovely , but the actual apartment was below standard and very shabby looking . The outside chairs were broken and faded . The kitchen only had 2 teaspoons , can opener didnt work it was very poorly stocked as far as appliances . The nautical owl unit was in need of a up grade , it was dark and tired looking . We have been promised a refund of one night s accommodation but after many phone calls to property management in Coffs Harbour this has not happened . They told us they had sent the money to Bookings .com Still waiting on refund .
