• Callum (1/5): Avoid - Good location, pleasant to deal with hosts despite the issue encountered. Apartment has a great view and whilst we didn't use it, a modern looking kitchen. When going to bed on the first evening, we realised there was only 1 bed. This is a 2 bedroom apartment which we booked for that reason. The 2nd bed was just a mattress on the floor. I slept on the floor for the 2 nights we stayed. I have since contacted the hosts who have been polite in their response, but ultimately they mentioned quite heavily I should have contacted them when we realised there was no 2nd bed. We realised this at 11.45pm on Saturday night when going to bed (having booked a 2 bed apartment we presumed as the photos showed, we'd get 2 beds), and we checked out on Monday morning at 9.30am, so we chose not to contact them as what were the hosts realistically going to do on Sunday? Also note, this was our only full day in Milan so we didn't want to have to be at the apartment to facilitate a fix if by some miracle they managed to get a bed and get it delivered on the Sunday. Lastly, we checked out on Monday at 9.30am and the hosts asked us to let ikea in so they could deliver the new bed, felt like we were getting pranked! I have discussed with the hosts since, whilst they acknowledged the 2nd bed was damaged by a previous guest (and sent a photograph showing the damage), this isn't our fault. The hosts clearly were aware of this before we came and didn't inform us. They have also argued that if we had told them we wanted 2 beds before coming, they would have arranged something for us. Once again, why!? It's a 2 bedroom apartment and the photographs show 2 bedrooms with 2 beds as the standard setup. To note more importantly, when completing the booking and online check-in, we selected 'matrimonial + matrimonial' - aka a 2 double bed setup. It is an absolutely pathetic excuse to not tell paying guests in advance and cancel or arrange an alternate solution. Long process via customer service to get a small element of the stay refunded. Photos added of mattress and ikea delivering a bed on check out!
