Guest Reviews
- Lisandra (8/5): - Enjoyed the loft style of the apartment and enough room for a family up to 6. Walkable and easy access to everywhere that is why we choose this property.
Would stay again here only thing is parking is not very flexible had to park 10 min away at a public parking lot.
Kitchen comes with basics but we had packed and done groceries ourselves.
A bit of noise from tenants who live in the other units but it’s expected when you’re staying in apartments like these. Lots of stairs to go up since unit is at the top!
Wish there had been more towels for a family of 6 we only got 6 towels for 3 nights. I ended washing 2 loads while there so on the brought side the washer and dryer is nice to have!
- Cecilie (10/5): We had a lovely stay in the apartment. A perfect base to explore the city. The apartment was spacious and well -equipped - Super cosy and spacious apartment in a great location. Everything was great! Nothing to complain about
- Gupta (10/5): Exceptional -
- Carole (8/5): Spacious, comfortable apartment in a fantastic location, walking distance to many sites in Old Montre - The location was amazing! Walking distance to many things we wanted to do and loads of great restaurants. Interesting, spacious, and comfortable apartment with functional kitchen. Good internet and easy to find instructions to access it. Please let people know there are 58 steep steps between the street and the bedrooms. I am 82 years old and, if my son had not been with me, I could not have lifted my suitcase to the top. Fortunately there were sturdy hand rails except for 9 steps that I could use to pull myself up. I would not have booked this place had I known about the many steps.
It would be helpful to have a note in the kitchen about where to find a grocery store. On our next to last day, we found a restaurant-supply store that allowed us to buy a few things. So we really did not have use of the kitchen. We appreciated that actual keys were left for us. The information for using a cell phone to enter was confusing. And my cell phone did not work at all in Old Montreal.
- Megan (3/5): Dishonest Listing - not Air Conditioned - This apartment was advertised as air conditioned. It's 2 stories, with 3 bedrooms, a living room, 2 bathrooms, and kitchen/dining area. Only 2 bedrooms have portable A/C units, one of which didn't work and one which was inadequate for the single room it covered. The apartment is on the top/3rd-4th floors and it was very hot. The hosts did send a maintenance man to fix the 2nd unit, but that only worked for a couple hours after he left. Strangely, in all communications with the hosts, they continued to act as if there was an actual air conditioning system throughout, despite the fact that 90% of the unit has none, including the entire main floor. The listing and the hosts were very dishonest about this.
There were no instructions for anything within the house (wifi, where to put garbage, how to operate the TV, etc.). Note that there are 2 TV sets, but no programming is provided. We had to actually sign up for Apple TV just to watch a show. This was a total hassle, and the Apple TV box had to be unplugged and reset each time we needed to use it.
Very basic amenities were included - 4 towels, no washcloths. Also note that the 2nd full bath has a tub only - no shower.
There are many stairs up to the unit, and then in the unit, there's a staircase to the 4th floor. As it's an older building, the stairs are small and irregular. It would be very hard, if not impossible, for anyone who is older or who has physical challenges to navigate these stairs. Within the apartment, there are very low ceilings due to the roofline. My kids are 6' tall and had to bend to use the toilet, get in and out of bed, etc. in the many places where the ceilings were only a few feet from the ground. The main doorway in was maybe 5 1/2 feet high.
- Russell (8/5): Very good stay in Old Montreal - Location is excellent. Size of living space and bedrooms is large. Amenities were good. Overall very good. Apartment does need a little bit of upkeep. Parking garage is available one block away at reasonable daily rates. Need to alert guests that apartment starts on the third floor. Very narrow and steep stairs to reach the third floor and all stair treads were not secure. One bathroom fixture was loose and shower did not close properly.
- Bruce (9/5): Highly recommended oasis close to the old town of Montreal - Great location. Walking distance to all the attractions of the old town. Very comfortable and clean apartment. And as a family travelling with two teenage children, we find it hard to find places to stay that have separate beds for the kids. Nothing although steep stairs may not be suitable for everyone.
