Guest Reviews

- Johanna (9/5): Great stay, if a bit rough and ready - Wonderful place with kind owners, we had a lovely time and strongly recommend it. I loved the walks and the birding was incredible. The bed sheets were musty and didn't smell like they had been recently washed. Maybe they had been sitting in the hut getting damp for a while.
- Chrisje (8/5): Mooi uitzicht! - Fantastisch uitzicht en zulke lieve mensen! Niets. Het is een eenvoudige trekkershut
- John (9/5): Rustic cabin with incredible views. - A rustic cabin with incredible views to mountains and valley. It’s basic but that’s its charm. Hoighly recommended if you are after a break from hot and humid climate. We slept in our cloths with three blankets! No food close by, but small stove, coffee machine and kettle provided. We loved our stay here. It’s a 3 min hike down a hill side to get there, and the toilet and shower are a bit dodgy. But that’s its charm.
- Aaron (7/5): - In nature and surrounded by the forest and views of the mountains. Many wildlife in the area and cow raising farms.
Lots of trails around to explore and away from all the hustle and bustle
Friendly and helpful host. There’s no hot shower and was quite cold in the morning.
Can hear rats in the middle of the night and saw one that ran across the headboard of the bed.
It’s about a 30m elevation trek down to the cabin from where you park.
Need a 4x4 to go 2km off-road to the cabin. 250m elevation going down. Nearest restaurant nearby is about a 5-10 minute drive.

- Arnau (9/5): - Tranquilitat, pau i les vistes a les muntanyes. Matalassos.

- Roberto (10/5): This is our second time using this accomodation. and everything was excellent. -
- Roberto (10/5): Highly recommended - We loved the staff's attention. Besides that, the wooden cabin's location, which js in the middle of the forest, is amazing and relaxing.
We just loved everything. Highly recommended.
- Hedvika (10/5): Exceptional - One of our best experiences in Costa Rica, we went to the waterfall with Alvaro and saw a lot of local plants and the views were fantastic. The place was so calm and romantic. Alvaro is great.
- Wendy (5/5): Wild cabin experience - Set in a beautiful mountain range, close to parque de Quetzals. Lots of varied bird life in surrounding area. Cabin was very basic, which is fine if you want that experience, being in the middle of nowhere. It was well made, although cold as did not have any heating and it was unusually windy and rainy for the time of year we stayed which was supposed to be the dry season. The father of the owner was lovely, being very friendly and helpful despite not speaking any English. To reach the cabin, you had to go down a very steep and windy uneven gravel road that was only suitable for a 4x4. This had not been made apparent to us before arriving, and the car we had hired was not suitable to take down it. This meant we had to leave the car at the top of the road and walk down, which took about 30 minutes. We felt this should have been pointed out on booking as the walk back up the hill was very challenging. Fortunately, some of the locals gave us lifts up, which was very kind of them.
- Youssef (8/5): Very nice staff and people who help you to have an Amazing trip and experience to be in the nature . - The place and the location ,Amazing to be in the nature . The access road can be better and no need 4x4 to arrive there.
- Michelle (10/5): Peaceful - The place was exactly as shown. Rustic and charming. Dinner was excellent. The drive in absolutely required a 4x4. Do not book if you do not have a 4x4.
- Steven (8/5): Very good -
