Guest Reviews
- AmbsR (7/5): Great location but read full reviews so you're fully informed - The location is superb, everything is accessible by foot. The neighbourhood is great and there's plenty of little market shops to fill the fridge and pantry, or plenty of places to eat and drink.
Make sure you read the fine print (and full reviews) on this property as it's not exactly what the pictures present. Check in: no one to greet and show us how to operate things (such as heating, stove, TV etc.), alternatively written instructions would have sufficed but they weren't provided either.
Cleaning: spider webs on light fixtures, dust on floors, washing machine had water still in the drum and kettle is full of lime scale.
Noise: the bedroom windows face the street and they are not double glazed so every sound from the street seeps through. Be prepared for bin and bottle collection early in the morning and voices of people walking the street. The bar down the street can be noisy on the weekend.
Main bed: bed OK, a bit on the soft side for my liking. Pillows were like foam cottage cheese, seemed very old and only 2 provided on the main bed. Room had mosquitos that fed on me during the night. We ended up buying mozzie coils and so it was the lesser of 2 evils - getting bitten or sleeping in a smoking den.
Second room: bed is tiny, my dad didn't fit in the bed and his feet were on the wooden frame. Pillows again were like foam cottage cheese, old and not supportive.
Bathroom 1: does not have a toilet, this was not clear when I booked. The shower is over the bath and the water ends up all over the floor which is dangerous when trying to get out and therefore I only used this once.
Bathroom 2: is very small and ended up being the only shower we used. I specifically booked this place as my father and I would have separate bathrooms but we ended up using the same bathroom.
Kitchen: kettle is full of lime scale and needs a good clean. The washing machine wasn't working properly but this was promptly fixed. The fridge has a frost problem so some food was partly freezing.
Lounge: there is no free to air TV and there were no instructions on how to use internet through the TV.
Air con: only in the lounge and not provided in bedrooms.
Heating: provided through central heating but no instructions on how to operate. We managed to operate the towel heaters intermittently.

- Claire (10/5): Great location, spacious apartment and great info sent during stay. - Perfect for our group of 3. Felt secure, well equipped and super comfy beds. Second toilet would have been good as other bathroom was not used but was fine for us. Maybe a future idea.
- JY (8/5): Very good and worth the money. It would have been good to know it was going to be noisy at night. - Location was very good. Easy to find. Had the necessary amenities. Bed was comfortable and there was the added sofa bed if needed. Plenty of fans and there was optional air conditioning. Laura was very responsive and sent very clear instructions for entry and then our departure. Very accommodating regarding leaving our luggage in the flat until 2pm (we had an early evening flight home). They also left a handy umbrella too which was very useful on the last day as there was a torrential downpour!! We didn't realise it would be so noisy at night time. In order to have windows open (and even when closed) the street noise from local bar and residents made for a disturbed night's sleep. There was the early morning bottle collection too. I would have to read the description again regarding how to turn on the gas main (which is a handle by the side of the oven) as took guess work to decide the handle was for the oven.
- Marko (8/5): Old style Roman apartment in the very centre of Rome - The apartment is literally only few steps from Forum Romanum. Everything is reachable by walk. No need to use taxis (you can use public transportation - bus, tram or metro, it’s much cheaper and affordable). If you are looking to stay in an old fashioned Roman apartment styled in the 1970s, this apartment is the right one for you. During our stay in the apartment (summer), the two rooms facing the street were quite noisy for sleeping. However, a pair of earplugs will ensure you sleep well despite the noisy street. It was also necessary to constantly ventilate the apartment, as the air was quite musty there. Since there were no mosquito repellents (antizanzare) in the apartment, we had to buy our own.
- Karen (8/5): - Right in the thick of things. Easy walking to all but one major attraction on our list. The restaurants in the area offered great food of every kind and in every price range. The apartment itself is exceptional. Had an air conditioner in main room and swamp cooler in the bedrooms with a fan. The air conditioner wasn't up to snuff and never really got cool. It was hot on our June vacation and we never got a great night's sleep because of the heat.
- Meenakshi (10/5): - Amazing stay and location. We loved the vibe of the apartment and the terrace. The best thing was the location as it was walking distance to everything. We were able to sightsee, come back and enjoy the AC before heading out again later in the day once it was cooler. Everyone in our family of 4 had their own space. Will definitely be back!
- Ionela (9/5): Superb -
- Svetlana (10/5): Exceptional - The location of the apartment is fantastic. It's convenient. Clear. With very nice terrace. The Colosseum is a few minutes' walk away. And Laura was a fantastic host. At first it seemed a bit gloomy. The second bathroom is really inconvenient to use. But soon after we got used to it and enjoyed it to the fullest. The neighborhood is great. And even if there are small flaws the apartment is really excellent to enjoy the eternal Rome.
- Sara (8/5): Nice, clean apartment with plenty of room for our family of 3. The terrace was especially lovely - Great location - near the coliseum and ancient ruins of the Forum, etc. Easy to access city bus from the apartment. There were 2 bathrooms! We were able to drop our luggage off in the apt early! Host was SO accessible and helpful. The towel warmers did not work. Not a big deal.
- Valavanis (8/5): It was great, Rome was great! - Location was great Beds could be a bit more comfortable and pillows. Shampoo and conditioner and soap should be filled. Towels for kitchen and hair dryer would be appreciated.
- Tom (10/5): Great Apartment, great service and awesome location. - The appartment has everything you need. Its clean and in good state. There are good instructions inside. The terrace is very nice to relax and quite big. The contact with Laura is very good. She reacts fast and friendly. The location is awesome. It's very close to the imperial Forums and even more important the lovely Monti neighborhood with Al it's fantastic bars and restaurants. Not much. But If i have to... The seats on the terrace could be a bit more comfortable
- Janet (8/5): Very good - We liked the apt. overall and made due with the issues. The garden was very nice and so was the kitchen. We thought we we getting 2 full baths. One bath was mostly not usable. There was only a bidet and no shower curtain therfore, 1 bath wasn't usable. Our group consisted of 3 ladies and 1 man. We paid for 2 baths and got 1. That was a bit deceptive. Also, we didn't have enough toilet paper for our 3 night stay and no body soap. Good thing I packed some. The kitchen wasn't overly equipped for a family, just enough for a light breakfast.
- Kit-kett (10/5): Exceptional -
- Hess (9/5): The perfect location can’t be beat for the price! - The location was perfect! The apartment was clean and spacious! I loved the two bathrooms, just wish the second bathroom had a toilet instead of just a bidet (but that’s just personal preference with two boys and a husband!) The mattress and pillows! Hard and flat!
