Guest Reviews
- Kathleen (10/5): Amazing renovation and so private - Great location and very private. Amazing renovation Inclusion of welcome basket would have been a nice touch
- Deb (10/5): -

- Deanne (10/5): - The location was full of history. So quiet and peaceful. Bird sounds in the morning while sipping coffee outside in the garden. The loft we stayed in was so romantic, rustic and vintage with modern kitchen and bathroom. Absolutely beautiful in all ways. The owner was very kind and responded quickly to my needs, outstanding service from the lady. We would stay there again!
- Ian (10/5): - Very homely, everything you need , quiet, peaceful, great bed for comfort
- Herbert (8/5): A lovely retreat to come back to every day. - The setting was lovely, the accommodation was good. The facilities were excellent. It was big and roomy.
Loved the bath. Gardens were lovely. It was quite cold inside. Toilet was downstairs away from the bedroom. It was very rustic which is not my favourite decor.
- Connie (9/5): -
- Allison (10/5): Amazing. We loved everything about Randell’s Mill and strongly recommend it. - Everything. It was breathtaking. Nothing.
- James (9/5): Lovely little get away location. - Very cozy and charming Hot water system was a little temperamental
- Linley (9/5): Great weekend spot - The ambiance , the gardens , the location , the well stocked kitchen . Lovely location right on the doorstep of the Barossa and also Adelaide Hills. The shower ...bring a shower cap if you don't want to wash your hair everyday ! Seriously it was only a tiny tiny tiny inconvenience. We love the place.
- Lisa (10/5): -
- Max (8/5): Beyond our expectations. - Truely unique accomodation. The ‘stairs’ but that’s a given for the Unit#2 space.

- Anne (9/5): Overall a beautiful place .. would go back again - Beautiful setting and very cosy and the bed was amazing It was so cold … could use a heater downstairs or provide a doona to have on the couch !
- Jennifer (8/5): It was a comfortable and relaxing stay. - It was a beautiful unique property with a gorgeous river. Perfect if you want to experience the heritage aspects of the Adelaide Hills.
- james (10/5): Incredible, unique and comfortable - The owners have done such an amazing job of making this feel like a luxurious and homely space and still keeping its historical charm, thank you for creating and caring for this amazing place
- Sue (10/5): Beautiful fabulous rustic loft, best place I have ever stayed. - Its was so beautiful, The photos online dont do it justice. The detail and décor was spectacular!! We loved it so much we will defiantly come back to stay. The outside garden was beautiful two and we had a visit from the Alpacas which was fun.
The kitchen was so well equipped too and we loved how rustic it was. The Internet was very poor. My partner Mike works for NBN and he said you need a nesh connection as it was very slow.
We did get it going at some stage so it was no big issue
- Laura (10/5): Beautiful, peaceful and filled with rustic charm 🤍 - Super charming, beautiful location. One of the most beautiful places I think I’ve ever stayed in! Bed / pillows weren’t as comfortable as I’d like, but very well presented
- Mullins (9/5): Superb - The Loft stay was great; the setup of the whole room made you feel like you were living in the early settles' world, but with all the mod cons. Would have loved a fireplace in our room and a small milk left in the fridge
- James (10/5): Wonderful long weekend stay in the Hills - Beautiful presented character lodge, so cosy and warm Nothing
- Samantha (10/5): Exceptional -
- Donald (10/5): Exceptional - A lovely loft, clean & tidy - communication was great Nil
- Jackson (8/5): This was a beautiful place! We really loved our stay at Randall’s Mill. Thank you! - The whole space was relaxing. I enjoyed sitting and reading in the courtyard for hours. So very peaceful. Unfortunately, the bathrobes were not supplied which would have been great to have.
- Byrne (10/5): Exceptional -
- Duncan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Paul (8/5): Very close to the township of Gumeracha, it can be best described as spacious, secluded and homely. - Randell’s Mill is a unique and comfortable place for couples to stay. Very close to the township of Gumeracha, it can be best described as spacious, secluded and homely.
I enjoyed having the combustion wood heater especially. The bed is comfortable and there is loads of space. Overall, a very good experience.

- Leanne (10/5): Exceptional -

- Gillian (10/5): Idyllic stay in the Adelaide Hills - Beautiful location
- Kimberly (10/5): Exceptional - We booked the mill for the night before and night of our wedding. It was immaculate. Beautiful place to get ready at and not one person left without commenting on our perfect of a space it was. Nothing. We just couldn't locate the bin for rubbish so we took it with us.
- Natalie (9/5): A cosy home away from home that has everything you might need. -
- Liz (7/5): Good -
- Alister (10/5): Beautiful setting for a romantic weekend. - The property was really well equipped and beautifully set. I wish we had had more than two nights to enjoy it!
- Janine (8/5): A beautiful location with everything you needed. - The character of the building and the beautiful surrounds
- Judy (10/5): A beautiful, historic place to stay. - Such a beautiful, unique place to stay. We loved the feel of it.
The fireplace was very user friendly and did a great job of keeping us warm through the night. The host provides enough wood for you, as long as you don't go overboard.
The bath was extra large triangular shape, allowing us to stretch out and unwind. The location is on the edge of town (a very small, quaint town). You may need to drive a bit to get to other locations in the Adelaide Hills (not that that is a real problem, right?).
While the kitchen might not have everything you could want, it has everything you need.
- India (10/5): Exceptional -
- Belinda (9/5): Superb - Loved everything.
- Harriet (8/5): Thank you, lovely stay$ - Everything was as described
The added bonus of the eggs from the local chooks was a lovely gesture The only thing that comes to mind is the water from the coffee pod machine was leaking!
- André (9/5): A beautiful, cozy place for couples - Amazing location, I knew it was the place I wanted to stay because it looks like a medieval place, really picturesque.
We were amazed by the organization, the instructions they give, the suggestions about places to go etc.
It's also really nice that we can walk by the creek and uphill to have a nice view.
The fact that it's close to good restaurants and cafés is also a great thing. Only two things:
1- We had an embarrassing moment in the Saturday morning when the couple in the next room got a bit too excited doing their stuff. While I was happy that they were enjoying one of the best things in life (and it sounded like it was great indeed hahaha) I'd prefer to not have to hear that. So please, try to improve soundproofing.
2- There's no need to have a TV in a place like this, but if you do have then please, provide good internet. We wanted to end the night by watching something on Netflix but the internet was simply too slow, impossible to use. My suggestion: get Starlink, or just give up on having a TV there.
- Eliza (10/5): Perfection. - Absolutely everything! The coziness was amazing. N/A
- Sue (10/5): Lovely accommodation and location. Beautiful and relaxing outdoor area. -
- Biljana (10/5): Exceptional - Idyllic place to get away and enjoy nature.
- Hewittjane (10/5): Amazing property in a beautiful location - Beautiful apartment! Loved the fire and the bed was so comfortable. It would be amazing too in the summer to sit outside looking at the creek. We had coffee, tea, milk etc. There is a pub locally but more importantly a wonderful winery and distillery within 4 min walk. Nothing. Loved it all. Absolutely no complaints
- Arron (10/5): Exceptional - The stone walls, the lighting, the furniture, the coffee pods. Loved it. Only issue is that booking website advertised a fire place (a selling point in winter) but there wasn’t one. But can’t knock the property, clean and stunning renovation of an old mill.
- Mac (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mccormack (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nathan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sophie (8/5): Very good -
- Amy (10/5): Cosy and convenient - The cottage was clean, comfortable, and in a great location- walking distance to the hotel and medieval fair. We had a lovely weekend:)
- Malcolm (9/5): Great - Excellent Nothing Our stay was everything expected
- Vanessa (10/5): Exceptional - It was a very romantic escape
- Greg (8/5): Very good - Lovely gardens
- Laelia (9/5): Superb - Beautiful room, perfect for our romantic getaway. Not quite enough food to make breakfast with.
- Alexandra (10/5): Exceptional - Gorgeous design and facilities
- Anonymous (10/5): Such a beautiful place, love the old historic building and tranquil courtyard to sit and relax. Gorgeous old historic bu - Beautiful inside and out. Perfect for relaxation.
- Brenda (9/5): Relaxing stay in a peaceful wildlife environment. - Beautifully restored mill property. Really quaint with beautiful outside area in a peaceful location with a river running through it. Lots of birds. Gumeracha is a good area to stay and explore the Adelaide Hills. Could hear other people in adjoining properties, but not intrusive.
- Kerry (7/5): Lovely relaxing short stay. Everything you need is provided. - Outdoor seating areas and gardens were beautiful. It was like being in Italy or France. Fire was cosy and easy to use. Kitchen well equipped. Bathroom shower head was a little too full on.
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional -
- Woodland (10/5): Excellent stay -
- Francesca (9/5): Romantic stay for couples - Beautiful historical building situated near a stream backing onto hilly paddocks with sheep and alpacas. Very tranquil setting. The rooms are thoughtfully furnished in keeping with the rustic/ traditional buildings. Our friends had Loft 1, which was light and decorated with a lot of white; we had Loft 2, which was very tastefully decorated with clever details such as a claw bath. The outdoor stone courtyard was very pretty especially at night with fairy lights. Julie and Dean were very friendly and helpful. Gumeracha is handy for McLaren Vale and the Barossa Valley as well as the local vineyards. It has good pub food and the Good Pantry serves a great breakfast. Loft 2 is very dark. The weather was cool for spring and there was little heating, but we were out most of the time. It's a shame the General Store is very inadequately stocked - mainly pies and dog food!
- Anonymous (8/5): Fabulous and peaceful stay, amazing inside and out, felt safe and secure, was close to everything you need and left afte - The location, cleanliness, good wifi, outdoor areas were amazing, along with beautiful, peaceful views, well stocked with supplies, great size, great parking and nicely decorated and presented As the weather was changing it was too hot to sleep under the thick doona and there wasn’t a suitable blanket or lighter weight option
- Keren (8/5): Will definitely be back, perfect retreat for the cooler months - Absolutely beautiful location, the hosts made so much effort to make the outdoor area welcoming, with little spots to sit and enjoy the sun or the river views. Gorgeous cosy interior, real cottage feel with finishing touches to give a feel of seasoned elegance. Really enjoyed the spa and to be able to have a small fire in spring.
- Simone (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional -
- Yani (7/5): Good - Great property but old food left in fridge and bread basket and no breakfast provided Old food left in fridge and bread basket and no breakfast provided
- James (10/5): It was perfect for what we needed. Cozy, quiet with lots of charm. - The feel and comfort inside the room. The old stone walls and high ceilings are amazing. The bed was really comfy!
- Orocks (8/5): Very good -
- Natalie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lara (10/5): A wonderful relaxing cosy weekend away! - The cosy atmosphere, perfect for a romantic getaway!
- Marc (9/5): Beautiful spot for an anniversary weekend or just peaceful getaway. - The location is a very peaceful spot surrounded by beautiful hills wineries, restaurants and cafes. Very unique place to stay that will win points with the Mrs. Nothing in particular..
- Connie (10/5): Such an amazing find and have told all my friends and family what a gorgeous place is! - Absolutely fabulous location & facilities, along with the total ambiance! The shower head is quite annoying as there’s no room where there’s no water if you have conditioner in your hair…
- Kolynda (9/5): Book it now! - Beautiful space. Decorated well, garden superb, view amazing. Met one of the owners and they were lovely. Loved the clawfoot tub! The bed was super comfy and so was the couch! Everything was so nicely put together and was such a great place to escape to. Wish we could have afforded to book a longer stay, we did manage to scrounge for a 3rd night which they added on the morning of our booked check-out without any dramas (we did message the evening before and they replied, but our phone didn't show that they'd replied, oops!). There wasn't anything we didn't like.
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful place to stay
- Rudi (10/5): This place provides the best of everything - what an amazing place to find. Everything in the apartment was almost brand new, spotlessly clean and yet we were surrounded by the old charm of the property. Loved staying here in the small town. Highly recommend staying here for anyone planning an Adelaide Hills getaway
